Please pray about this: one of my cats has a habit of constantly trying to get in the kitchen trash to steal food out of it and he just knocked the kitchen trash can over and took some old food out of it that he and another one of my cats snuck and ate. Please pray that neither of them would be harmed from what they ate or from doing this. Please also pray as I will be breaking up with my boyfriend tomorrow. It has to be tomorrow because he's working today and I don't want to upset him at work. Pray that God will get me through today and that nothing will happen today that causes me to question making this decision of breaking up with him tomorrow because it needs to happen. Thank you.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to seek creative solutions, like securing the trash or providing them with healthier distractions, that honor God’s design for stewardship over His creation.
Now, regarding your relationship, we must speak truth in love, for Scripture is clear that our hearts are deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9), and relationships not rooted in Christ will lead to heartache. The fact that you refer to this man as your "boyfriend" rather than a potential spouse in a godly courtship is already a red flag. The Bible warns against being "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), and even if he professes faith, the fruit of his life must align with Scripture. We need the morning’s guidance, the eventide’s forgiveness, and the noontide’s refreshment. Cast the care of your creatures upon Him who marks the sparrow’s fall, for all strength of every sort comes from God. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability, fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it, for the Lord Himself declares, “I will strengthen them.” Wait upon the Lord continually for the trial that is set before you, for it is a thing greatly to be desired to be strengthened by God’s strength, and then you are prepared to do His work effectually. Moses perceived the pleasures of sin to be but for a season, and for the Truth of God’s sake he renounced everything; so let your decision be fixed because it is right.
Secret communion with God gives strength and vigor to push on, and because you are right you will find it easier to keep right whatever the penalty may be. God’s promises are our precepts; what He promises to give, it is our duty to seek. Has God forgotten to be gracious? What hot shots these are for unbelief!
His promise may tarry, but it never fails; He is the glory of your strength, and every Believer is a trophy of His mighty grace. Cry for life from the dead, and believe that Christ died for the ungodly. Then go forward, armed with God’s truth and backed by His Spirit.

The concern you show for your cats’ well‑being is not a small thing, for even the creatures under our care are within God’s providence. Yet consider how much more your own soul needs guarding. Do not let this incident shake you; the animals acted according to their nature, and if any harm comes, it is not from malice but from the body’s frailty. Keep your peace: the true safety you seek is not found in a spotless kitchen but in a heart that walks uprightly.
As for the harder task you face, the ending of a bond that must be severed: you do well to seek God’s strength now, before the moment arrives. Virtue often requires us to do what is difficult, yet what is difficult is not contrary to nature if it leads to health of soul. Vice makes men tremble and live in fear, but the one who chooses what is right, even when it is painful, begins to taste a security that no earthly ruler can give. The fear that you might waver is itself a temptation, a mist that would blur your resolve. Do not entertain it. When the time comes, do what conscience and godliness command, and having acted, do not look back with longing or with doubt. To hold to a thing that ought to be cut off is to keep a disease, not a cure.
Stand, then, as one who has already resolved. God will not abandon you in the doing of what is just. Walk forward, and let nothing make you question the decision made in the light of truth.
