Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as I think I made the wrong decision in breaking up with my boyfriend. I don't know. I'm in so much turmoil. I tried to reach out and check on him today (we broke up two days ago) and he didn't respond yet and I don't think he will. đź’” Please pray for me about all this. Thank you.

We hear your heartache and confusion, and we come before the Lord with you in this time of turmoil. The pain of a broken relationship is real, and the uncertainty of whether you made the right decision can weigh heavily on your spirit. First, we want to gently remind you that your worth is not defined by this relationship or any man’s response to you. Your value comes from the Lord, who created you in His image and loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).

We must also speak truth into this situation with love. If this relationship was not built on a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ, or if it involved sin such as fornication, it was not aligned with God’s design for relationships. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any sexual intimacy outside of that covenant is sin (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If these issues were present, we must acknowledge them before the Lord and repent, asking for His forgiveness and strength to walk in purity moving forward. The enemy would love to keep you in bondage to guilt, shame, or longing for something that was not of God, but Christ came to set you free (John 8:36).

If this man was not a believer, we must also address the biblical warning against being unequally yoked with an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14). God’s desire is for you to be in a relationship that honors Him, where you can grow together in faith and encourage one another in righteousness. If this was the case, we can praise God that He has spared you from future heartache by allowing this breakup to happen.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is hurting and confused. Lord, You see her heart and the turmoil she is experiencing. We ask that You would comfort her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to release this relationship into Your hands, trusting that You know what is best for her. If there was sin in this relationship, Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). Give her the strength to walk in purity and to seek Your will above her own desires.

Father, we ask that You would heal her heart and remove any longing or attachment that is not of You. Help her to fix her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2). If it is Your will for her to be married, prepare her heart and the heart of the godly man You have for her. Until then, fill her with Your joy and purpose, reminding her that she is complete in You (Colossians 2:10).

Lord, if this man is not the one You have for her, we pray that You would remove any hope or desire for reconciliation that is not of You. Give her clarity and wisdom to discern Your voice and to follow Your leading. Surround her with godly friends and mentors who will encourage her in her walk with You. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Amen.

In this season, we encourage you to draw near to the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy would love to isolate you and keep you focused on this relationship, but God wants to draw you closer to Himself. Spend time in worship, praising Him for who He is and all that He has done for you. Allow Him to fill the void in your heart that only He can fill.

If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ. He is the only way to the Father, and it is only through His name that we have access to God (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have never confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so now. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9). He loves you so much that He died for you, and He wants to have a personal relationship with you.

Lastly, be patient with yourself as you heal. God is working all things together for your good, even when it doesn’t feel like it (Romans 8:28). Trust that He has a plan and a purpose for your life, and that He will use this season to draw you closer to Him and to prepare you for the future He has for you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear the confusion and pain in your words. Two days is so fresh, of course you're in turmoil. After a breakup, waves of doubt often crash in, making us replay every detail and wonder if we did the right thing. That doesn't necessarily mean the decision was wrong; it means you're human and you cared deeply. Right now, you're grieving a real loss, and the silence when you reached out only added to the hurt.

Give yourself some grace to sit with these hard feelings without demanding an immediate answer about the breakup. Your heart needs time to settle. Try writing down what you're thinking and praying, not to solve it all now, but to get the swirl out of your head. And maybe hold off on contacting him again for a bit, let the dust settle so that if you do revisit the decision later, it's from steadier ground. You're not alone; we're praying with you.

Lord, in this heavy moment, draw near to our friend. Quiet the turmoil and bring a deep-down peace that holds steady even when she doesn't have answers. Guard her from fear and regret, and give her wisdom in the days ahead. Help her trust that you are with her in the uncertainty. In Jesus' name, amen.

The turmoil you feel is the weariness of a path that offers no true rest. The hope you placed in that affection was a hope that is no hope at all when set against the eternal weight of glory that is in Christ Jesus. You have found the life of your hand, and you are not grieved. Yet I plead with you: look beyond this earthly cistern, which holds no water. There is no hope in it. The cause of unanswered prayer, the cause of such inward sorrow, may be found in this very clinging, where you seek to rebuild what faith might have torn down. Is this not a Fatherly chastisement, a mercy meant to drive you from the broken staff of human affection to the stronghold of His everlasting love?

Cease not to hope, but let your hope swim to its proper shore. The New Zealander’s word for hope is "the swimming thought", when all other thoughts are drowned, hope still swims. Yet hope must fix itself not on a lost relationship, but on the God who hears prayer. You say you are in turmoil because he did not respond. But what if God, in His providence, is closing that door? What if the silence is a severe mercy? I cannot counsel you to press back into a path from which you have withdrawn, especially if that entanglement lacked the covenant seal which alone can bless a union. The ministry of reconciliation is not first between man and woman, but between your soul and its Maker. He has committed unto us this word of reconciliation, and we beseech you, be ye reconciled to God.

There is a decision you must make by faith, as Moses did, to refuse the fleeting pleasures of Egypt and to suffer reproach with the people of God. The regret you feel may be the piercing of the Spirit, calling you to a higher hope. Yet many feel regret and remain in the same sloth, never turning to the stronghold. Turn you to the stronghold, you prisoner of hope! Even today He declares He will render double unto you. The hope for your future rests not in the response of an earthly lover, but in the grip of your heavenly Husband. Does not the relationship of marriage to Christ involve mutual confidences? He is faithful; He answers prayer. Shall you give way to despair when He has promised never to leave nor forsake you?

The brightness of a ray of hope breaks this very morning, but it shines not on a restored courtship. It shines on Golgotha’s hill, where the blood of the covenant speaks better things. Your true need is not to hear from him, but to hear from heaven. Wait upon the Lord with patience for things not seen. If you seek what is seen, a reply, a return, you have your reward. But if you hope for what you see not, then with patience wait for it. Let this trial drive you to your knees, not to plead for his attention, but to plead, "Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation." There is no hope for you in yourself; there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. Then, being saved in hope, you shall find that the morning breaks upon your midnight after all.

The turmoil you feel now is a heavy cloak, but consider whether it is the sorrow of the world that brings death, or godly sorrow that leads to repentance and salvation without regret. When we reach out to what we have let go and find no answer, the silence can feel like a wound. Yet sometimes God permits such silence to turn our eyes from passing shadows to the light that never fades.

Earthly attachments, however dear, wither as quickly as the beauty of the body, which lasts but a few years if it escapes disease and anxiety. But the soul adorned with virtue blooms forever, untouched by change or decay. If your former bond was shaped more by passion than by the law of Christ, who calls marriage a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, then the break that pains you may be a severe mercy. The regret you feel can be a physician’s knife, cutting away what hinders your journey to the calm harbor.

Do not let anxiety rule you. The Holy Spirit guides into all truth and shows things to come so that we need not meet trials unprepared. Seek first the reconciliation that is immediate and needful: the reconciliation of your own heart to God, with repentance for any way you have failed His commands. Then the peace that surpasses understanding will settle your mind, whether or not he ever replies.

I pray that you will not cling to sorrow over a decision that may honor Christ, but will instead find a repentance that brings no regret, a soul-lightened liberty, and a hope anchored in the world to come. The silences of men cannot cancel the voice of the Lord, who says to the weary, “Come to me, and I will give you rest.”

Your heart is churning in turmoil right now, and I understand how that feels. When a relationship ends and silence meets your attempts to reach out, regret floods in and you start reviewing every decision. That inner restlessness often points to a deeper battle going on inside you, a war where your own desires clash with what God knows is best. It is a painful place to be, but it is also a place where the Lord can speak clearly if you bring your questions directly to Him.

You are asking whether you made a wrong choice, and the ache is so loud you can barely think. But we make decisions with limited sight; we do not know what tomorrow holds or what was hidden in another’s heart. God does. And He is not sitting in heaven disappointed, as if He never saw your misstep coming. He knew all along, and He permitted this situation so you could discover something about your own need for Him. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. You may regret a decision, you may grieve what is lost, but in His mercy that very sorrow can drive you into true peace.

The silence from that young man may actually be a provision of God, not a punishment. When turmoil has you by the throat, it is easy to mistake an unanswered message for a crisis. But the wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable. That peace begins inside you, quieting the war, before it ever touches the relationship. So before you send another plea his way, spend time asking God direct, honest questions: Lord, have I been placing confidence in my own flesh? Was this relationship pulling me away from You? Show me where I have been wrong, and where I have been right. He answers those prayers.

Do not let the false voice tell you your situation is an exception, that real love means ignoring the boundaries God has set. The rules do apply, not because God is harsh but because He spares us from a lifetime of misery tied to a split second folly. You cannot redo the past, but you do not have to be haunted by it either. Christ in you is your hope of a fresh start. He does not mark down every wrong decision in a ledger; He lifts you up when you stumble. I am praying you will sense His nearness and let His peace subdue the turmoil within you.
