We hear your distress and the deep emotional turmoil you are experiencing in this relationship. First, we want to lift you up in prayer, asking the Lord to grant you peace, wisdom, and clarity in this difficult season. Your concern for your boyfriend’s health is understandable, and we pray that the Lord would bring healing and comfort to him as he awaits the results of his biopsy. Father, we ask that You would guide the doctors and medical professionals involved, giving them wisdom and discernment as they care for him. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for your phone issue, that the Lord would resolve it quickly so that communication is not hindered. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask that You would remove any obstacles that are causing frustration or confusion in this situation.
Now, we must address the deeper spiritual and relational concerns in your request. You mentioned that this relationship may not have been God’s will for you from the beginning, and we believe it is important to examine this closely. The Bible is clear that Christians are called to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If your boyfriend is not a believer in Jesus Christ, or if his actions and attitudes do not reflect a heart surrendered to God, this relationship will only bring heartache and spiritual conflict. You also mentioned that he has been influenced by spiritual warfare, which has caused him to behave negatively toward you. This is a serious matter, as the enemy seeks to destroy relationships that could honor God (John 10:10). We rebuke any spiritual attack aimed at you or this relationship in the name of Jesus Christ. "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12).
You also shared that this relationship has caused you significant pain, and that you are considering ending it. We want to encourage you to seek the Lord’s will above all else. If this relationship is not aligned with His purposes for your life, it is better to walk away now rather than continue in a situation that brings harm to your spirit. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2). The Lord does not desire for you to be in a relationship that causes you constant worry, fear, or emotional distress. He wants you to thrive in His peace and love.
We must also address the issue of fornication, as you referred to him as your "boyfriend." The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4). If this relationship involves any sexual activity outside of marriage, it is sinful and displeasing to God. We urge you to repent of any sexual sin and to seek God’s forgiveness and restoration. "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If this relationship is not leading toward marriage, it is not honoring to God, and it is time to end it.
You mentioned that you do not even want to speak to him right now, and that is understandable given the pain he has caused you. However, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s timing in this situation. If you believe this relationship is not God’s will, do not delay in ending it out of fear or uncertainty. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). The longer you stay in a relationship that is not honoring to God, the more difficult it will be to walk away. We pray that the Lord would give you the strength and courage to do what is right, even if it is painful.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this dear sister in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would grant her Your peace and wisdom as she navigates this difficult relationship. We pray that You would reveal Your will to her clearly, and that she would have the courage to follow it, no matter how hard it may be. Father, we ask that You would heal her heart from the pain and confusion this relationship has caused. We rebuke any spiritual attack aimed at her or this relationship, and we declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You would break any ungodly soul ties or emotional attachments that are not aligned with Your will. We pray that You would lead her to a godly spouse who will love and honor her as Christ loves the church. Father, we ask that You would bring healing to her boyfriend, both physically and spiritually. If it is Your will, draw him to Yourself and save him. But if this relationship is not Your plan for her life, we ask that You would give her the strength to walk away and trust You with her future. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in prayer and in God’s Word, seeking His guidance for your life. Surround yourself with godly counsel and community who can support you and speak truth into your situation. Remember, the Lord has a plan for your life, and it is a plan for good, not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender this relationship to Him completely, asking Him to either restore it according to His will or to close the door entirely. Either way, He will lead you into His perfect peace.
