Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father, and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and it is only by His name that we are saved and forgiven. We rejoice that you have asked for forgiveness of sins, for His mercy is new every morning and He is faithful to forgive us when we confess.

We hear the heavy burden you are carrying, the shame you feel before your family, the anxiety from constant calls and visits, the fear of threats and legal action, and the worry that this harassment could cost you your new job. We understand your desire for peace in your home and for these agencies to stop troubling you and your loved ones, and we bring all of this before the Lord together.

We want to gently and lovingly speak truth over the matter of debt. The Scripture teaches us that the borrower is servant to the lender in Proverbs 22:7 and that we are called to integrity in our financial obligations. Psalm 37:21 says The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. And Romans 13:8 says Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. We hear your heart that you have already paid more than you borrowed because of interest, and that your desire is to repay everyone, which is good and honors God. We encourage you not to seek simply that accounts would be closed without fulfilling what is justly owed, even if the burden of interest feels heavy, but to ask God for the grace, provision and discipline to repay what is rightfully due in a way that is honest and sustainable. At the same time we pray that God would intervene where there is unjust harassment, intimidation, or threats that go beyond lawful collection, and that He would protect your peace, your family and your employment.

God is not unaware of your needs and He cares about your daily bread and your peace. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. His provision does not always come as a miraculous cancellation or an easy loan without consequence, but often through wisdom, diligent work, counsel and faithful stewardship. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. We encourage you to steward your new job faithfully, to seek wise and godly financial counsel, to make a clear plan for repayment, to communicate honestly and in writing with your creditors where possible, and to learn what lawful protections exist in your area against harassment while still honoring your commitments.

For your anxiety, we cling to Philippians 4:6-7 which says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. The Lord sees the shame you feel, but He does not shame His children. He is your refuge and your provider.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is burdened by debt and fear. Lord, forgive sins as You have promised and wash away all shame with Your grace. Grant peace that surpasses understanding to this heart and to this home, and let Your presence guard this family. Father, we ask for Your divine intervention against harassing calls, visits and threats that disturb the peace of this household and jeopardize honest work. Restrain those who would act unjustly and bring lawful and peaceful resolution to these accounts. Lord, provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, and grant wisdom to steward finances well. If it is Your will to provide a personal loan or other provision to consolidate these debts, we ask that You open that door without hassle and with terms that are fair and manageable, and that You grant discernment to not take on further burden unwisely. Give strength to work diligently in this new job, favor with employers, and a clear plan to repay what is owed with integrity. Help our dear one to owe no one anything except love, to walk in honesty before banks, agencies, family and friends, and to trust You more than money. Quiet fear with Your perfect love and lead this family into financial freedom and lasting peace. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our provider and our peace. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily, to be faithful in small things, to keep honest records, to avoid further high interest borrowing where possible, and to trust that God will guide you step by step out of this valley. He is able to restore and to sustain you.

We have been reading your prayer and we hear how heavy this has become with the constant calls and visits, the shame you feel for your family, and the fear that this could put your new job at risk. That kind of pressure steals peace day and night, and we are bringing you before the Lord.

We understand your longing for a quick miracle and for the harassment to stop. While we pray for relief, we also pray for a steady way forward that honors your desire to repay what you owe and protects your household. Debt can feel overwhelming and isolating, and having a clear plan often brings back a sense of hope even before the balances change.

One practical step that has helped many in this place is to connect soon with a reputable, nonprofit consumer credit counseling service or a trusted financial counselor in your area, often available through a local church or community agency. They can look at all the accounts with you, help you contact creditors in writing, keep a record of calls and visits, and work toward a realistic repayment plan that creditors will accept. If threats or contacts to family and friends continue, it is also wise to seek guidance on your legal protections and to ask that communication be put in writing.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this dear one to You. You see the burden of debt, the strain on family, and the worry over work. Grant wisdom for each decision, provision for daily needs, favor at work, and peace at home. Lead to trustworthy help and to a workable path to repay what is owed, and guard this family from fear and harassment. Give rest and clear next steps in the days ahead. Amen.

The burden you describe is a heavy one, and the shame and fear which come with unceasing calls and visits and threats are felt deeply in the heart and in the home. The Lord knows the pressure upon you and the anxiety for your family and for your daily bread, and He hears those who come before Him in the name of Jesus seeking forgiveness and mercy.

Remember first that the infinite God has thoughts of peace toward His people, and He is at peace with them through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Your greatest debt was not of silver and gold but of sin, and when the conscience is enlightened it forbids peace as long as sin remains, for sin deserves God's wrath and must be punished. How sweet it is to learn that our enormous debt of sin has been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ who did this for all believers, then is the heart at peace. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. If you have come to Him for forgiveness of all your sins, you are accepted in the Beloved, justified by faith, and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Hold fast to that peace, for it can exist when strife rages all around us.

Concerning the debts of this life, the Word of God teaches us to love His law and to walk uprightly, and in keeping His precepts we have peace of conscience. The psalmist says great peace have they which love thy law. Part of that love is shown in honesty and faithfulness in our dealings with others. The Scripture says, Owe no man any thing, and the wicked borroweth and payeth not again. It would not be right to ask God to cause those to whom you are indebted to close your accounts while what is justly owed remains unpaid, even though you feel you have already paid much. Interest that was agreed upon is part of the obligation undertaken. The Lord's way is not to set aside our responsibilities but to give grace and strength to meet them with integrity, that we may declare His wondrous works by an honest testimony before men.

At the same time God sees the harassment and the distress it brings, and He is able to make deliverance effectual in His own time and way. He refines His people and designs their highest good, and He seeks their peace, creates their peace and sustains their peace. Perfect peace is promised to him whose mind is stayed on God because he trusts in Him. That peace is not the absence of duties and pressures, but restfulness of mind in the midst of them, to do the will of Jesus, for this is rest. You will not find that peace by going round and round seeking relief from men, you will find it much better in your closet with your God.

Therefore let us pray not for an easy escape from what is owed, nor for a loan granted without due consideration which might only add another burden, but for wisdom, provision and a settled heart to do what is right.

We pray with you that the Lord would grant you forgiveness through Christ and keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed upon Him. We ask that He would in His mercy provide for your needs through honest labour, sustain you in your new employment, give you favour and steadiness in it, and open a way that is upright and sustainable to repay what is owed as you are able. We ask that He would restrain unjust harassment and threats against you and your family and friends, and grant that all communication with those to whom you owe may be conducted with truth and calmness and within what is lawful and right. We ask that He would grant you counsel from wise and godly advisors, help you to speak plainly and humbly with your creditors to seek a fair arrangement, and guard your home in peace. May He teach you to be content to live within His provision, to love His Word more than fine gold, and not to grasp after wealth, but to trust His thoughts which are thoughts of peace to give you an expected end.

Acquaint yourself with God and be at peace. Meditate on His law day and night, cast your care upon Him, and labour faithfully in the place He has given you. He who delivered His people of old with a mighty hand is able to bring you forth from this trial, not that you may fold your arms and sleep, but that you may live and declare the works of the Lord with a clear conscience and a quiet heart. May His Spirit make you feel that His ways, though trying, are peaceable and for your good, and may the peace of God which passes understanding keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
