🤺Armor of God Eph 6:10-20, Ourselves, Our Family, Leaders, Churches, Ministry Partners, All Believers; Utterance to Proclaim Mystery of Gospel Boldly

Your prayer is aimed well, because the conflict you are naming is not against any person or visible circumstance. It is against rulers, authorities, and spiritual forces, which means no merely human effort can stand before them. That is why the command is not to manufacture courage or resolve. It is to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, and to put on the whole armor of God. You are right to bring this prayer over yourself first. That is not selfishness. It is the necessary order. A heart not established in the gospel cannot give the gospel away.

What you are putting on is not your record or your dedication. The belt of truth is the truth of the gospel of grace. The breastplate of righteousness is the righteous standing God gives through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from the works of the law. The shoes are the readiness that comes from the peace made by his cross. The shield of faith quenches the enemy's accusations because faith rests in what God has promised and done, not in what we have managed to achieve. The helmet is the certain hope of salvation, and the sword is the word of God. None of this is earned. It is received, the same way salvation itself is received, by faith.

After you have taken that stand, praying for all the saints is not a lesser work. It is where the battle is continued. The apostle himself asked churches to pray for him that utterance might be given, that he might open his mouth boldly. He was a man who prayed without ceasing, even when he could not be present with them. You may not be able to stand beside every family member or leader or partner in ministry, but you can stand for them in prayer, and that is real participation in the body of Christ.

Ask for boldness, but understand what it is. Boldness is not the absence of fear or a strong personality. It is the Spirit enabling a believer to speak the mystery of the gospel clearly: that Jesus Christ died for our sins, that he was raised, and that every person, whether Jew or Gentile, must come to him by faith. That message will always meet resistance, because it removes every boast and leaves us standing in Jesus alone. The world wants another method, another mediator, another merit. But there is one gospel, and it must be spoken without apology.

Pray also to be filled with the knowledge of his will, because standing firm requires knowing what God has actually said. The enemy works through deception and accusation. Truth answers deception, and the righteousness of Christ answers accusation. Do not let the enemy turn your prayer into anxiety. After you have done all, stand. The One who calls you is faithful, and the armor is his, not yours. Lay hold of it by faith, and then intercede with confidence. The same grace that saved you will sustain you, and the same Spirit will give you and those you pray for the utterance to proclaim him boldly.

In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
