Father, thank You for The Word and Holy Spirit that instruct us, 2 Tim 3:16-17, John 14:26, so we may not be unaware of the enemy's methods, 2 Cor 2:11. We do submit to You as the church Jesus said the gates of hell cannot stand against, Matt 16:18, and resist the devil, James 4:7, resist him firmly in the faith, 1 Pet 5:8, (Faith in Jesus AND the Authority of His Name, John 14:13-14, Mk 16:15-17, His Word, Matt 24:35, Lk 21:33, and His Position, Matt 28:18, Phil 2:9), so he will flee from us, James 4:7.

We do take the same advice as the other two Apostles, resist AND take up Your Armor and stand against, stand, stand firm against the schemes of darkness, by faith and patience we inherit the promises, Heb 6:12. We pray it over ourselves first, in submission to Your Word, even as it was the proper example and pattern of Christ, overcoming the devil first on for His own sake in the wilderness, Mt 4:1-11, Mk 1:12-13, Lk 4:1-13, then overcoming the world, flesh and devil for the world, John 16:33.

Knowing it's proper in airplane trips to be admonished to first place the oxygen mask over our own faces prior to assisting others, we pray the following Armor, Your Armor, The Armor of God, on ourselves, Eph 6:10-17, then for others, Eph 6:18-20, applied by faith, as we receive everything else in the same manner, from salvation, Eph 2:8-9, to answered prayer, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, James 1:6...

“Finally, brothers and sisters, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with Truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of The Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in The Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for the church, that utterance may be given to Your people, that they may open their mouths boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel, for which some are ambassadors in chains; that all may speak boldly, as is fitting to speak," Eph‬ ‭6:11-20‬, in Jesus' Name.

We stand together in agreement, lifting up this powerful declaration of the Armor of God over ourselves, our families, our leaders, our churches, and all believers. What a profound truth that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness! We take hold of this truth with both hands, recognizing that our strength comes from the Lord alone.

Father, we thank You for the complete armor You have provided for us in Christ. We put on the belt of truth, asking that every lie of the enemy be exposed and that Your Word would be the foundation of all we believe. We clothe ourselves with the breastplate of righteousness, not our own imperfect righteousness, but the perfect righteousness of Christ that covers us. We stand firm with our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, ready to share the hope we have in Jesus with boldness.

We take up the shield of faith, trusting that it will extinguish every flaming arrow the enemy hurls at us. We place the helmet of salvation on our heads, reminding ourselves daily of the victory we have in Christ. And we wield the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, speaking it with authority and using it to cut through every deception.

Lord, we pray that You would strengthen us to stand firm in this evil day. May we not grow weary in doing good, but persevere in prayer and supplication for all the saints. We ask that You would give us utterance to proclaim the mystery of the gospel boldly, just as Paul did even while in chains. May our lives and our words point others to Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved.

We resist the devil, knowing that he must flee from us as we submit to You. We declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against Your church. We stand together, united in faith, trusting in Your power and might to overcome every scheme of the enemy.

Father, we also lift up those who may not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We pray that their eyes would be opened to the truth of the gospel, that they would repent and turn to You, and that they would experience the saving power of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May they come to know the love, grace, and mercy that is found in You alone.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world. Amen.

What a gift to read your prayer. You've done more than just ask for the armor, you’ve actually put it on, piece by piece, not only for yourself but for your whole household and for every believer you listed. That kind of sweeping, faith-filled intercession strengthens the whole body, even when we don't see the immediate results. Thank you.

It’s easy for a prayer like Ephesians 6 to become familiar words we rush through, but you’ve slowed down and worn it like a battle garment. We’ve found it helps to take this even further into the ordinary moments of a day. Maybe today you silently, intentionally "gird up" with truth before a difficult conversation, or pull up the shield of faith when a worry sparks. Speaking the armor over a specific family member by name, right where they are sitting, can change the atmosphere in a room. And as you asked for boldness to speak the mystery of the gospel, we wonder if there's one small opening this week: a friend who’s struggling, a neighbor you’ve been meaning to invite to church. Not a sermon, just a real word from a real life. That’s how the armor meets the ground.

You are not alone in this stand. We’re with you, and so are countless others who have prayed these same words through the centuries.

Father, thank You for this faithful friend who has dressed for battle and lifted up so many before Your throne. Let the truth hold them steady when lies whisper. Let peace carry them through every rough terrain. Let faith quench every lie of the enemy, and let the Word on their lips be a sword that cuts through confusion and darkness. Grant them, and each person they named, the courage to open their mouth and speak of You with grace and power. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

The cry of your heart ascends like incense, and it is well that you have come to the throne of grace with such a petition. You speak of the armor, of standing against the wiles of the devil, and this is no light thing. Many put on a show of peace without ever having warred with their own sin. Let me be clear: there is a peace which is but the stillness of the strong man armed keeping his goods, the undisturbed sleep of the soul that has never been awakened to its danger. You have prayed to know the worst of your case, to be slain by the sword of truth rather than nourished on the bread of lies. This is a sign the Holy Spirit has been at work, for no man truly seeks the armor of God who has not first felt the piercings of the law and fled for refuge to the hope set before him in the Gospel.

This prayer you utter is to be no holiday faith, a mere recitation of a creed while the heart is far from the battle. You speak of taking hold of God, and that is the very pith of the matter. Men do not take hold of a shadow. If prayer is not the gripping of a real Person, it is feeble and will not stand in the evil day. When you call upon Him in the day of trouble, as you are doing now, it is a truthful recognition that God is a fact to your soul. Little as the act may seem, it puts crowns upon all His attributes when it springs from spiritual knowledge. You are not clinging to the church, nor to a minister, nor to a formal creed, but casting yourself upon the God who performs all things for you.

See to it that the shield you are lifting up is faith, and that this faith is fixed in a very particular place. A shield of general belief in a general mercy will be no more use than a cobweb against the fiery darts of the wicked one. You must mind that your faith is fixed in the Person of Christ. Nothing but a faith in Christ’s divine Person as God over all, blessed forever, and in His proper manhood, sacrificed for us, no other faith will be able to stand against the tremendous onslaught of the enemy. This faith is the defense for your defenses; it is the armor for your armor.

You plead for utterance, to open the mouth boldly and make known the mystery of the Gospel. This is a noble petition. The world clamors for smooth things, but what authority has any word unless it is stamped with “Thus saith the Lord”? When that watchword sounds, the hosts of Midian tremble. Pray, then, that your speech may not arise from the pathos of a preacher or the eloquence of man, but that the Gospel itself may come in power, exalting God in your own estimation and in the ears of those who hear. That sort of boldness is not shaken by opposition, for the man who has taken hold of God will testify even in the midst of heathens.

Yet remember the pattern of our Great High Priest. The incense that gives acceptance to the prayers of the saints is placed in the golden censer by a pierced hand. Your prayer for the whole church, for all the saints, ascends not because of your fervency alone, but because Another stands at the altar before the throne. He takes your petition and mingles it with His own infinite merit. This is the deep security for all who stand in the gap. The God who made the promises has not left them as pictures, but is the actual Worker of all that He declared in the Covenant of Grace should be worked in and for His people.

Go forward, then, having done all to stand. Let your soul trust in Him, making your refuge under the shadow of His wings until these calamities have passed by. The pith of it is this: if God has the keeping of you, He will perfect the keeping unto the day of Christ. Pray with that holy violence which takes the kingdom by storm, for the prayer that is sat upon and hatched in the soul is the prayer that prevails. And when you speak, speak with that humble boldness which knows the mystery of the Gospel is glorious, not because it makes much of man, but because it reveals every attribute of Deity with unrivaled splendor. Let the Lord give you a mouth and wisdom that all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist, for your dependence is not upon your own arm, but upon the living God, who is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Your prayer for the whole armor of God is a holy exercise, for you have not only asked for protection but have arrayed yourself in the very strength of the Lord. To pray in this manner is to take up the shield and the sword by faith, acknowledging that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against unseen, formidable powers. The devil watches closely; and yet, when he sees a soul so resolved, so girded with truth and righteousness, he begins to despair of victory. For as I have often said, when the enemy perceives he effects nothing and that his assaults only make the warrior’s crown more brilliant, he withdraws, fearing to be the cause of greater triumphs for the faithful. Your prayer, then, is not only a safeguard but a weapon that already strikes terror into the ranks of darkness.

But stand fast in this armor; do not let it be a costume for idleness. The very first lesson of the Christian soldier is to know how to stand, and stand rightly. You have prayed for your own covering, and rightly so, for he who would strengthen others must first place the oxygen of grace over his own face. Yet do not stop there. The armor is not given for comfort alone, but for withstanding in the evil day. Having done all, stand. Stand with your feet shod with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace; stand with the breastplate of righteousness closely fastened; stand with the helmet of salvation firmly set upon your head. For if you stand, the adversary must flee. This is the promise of God, and He does not lie.

And now, since you have sought utterance to proclaim the mystery of the gospel boldly, remember that the gospel is not preached by words alone, but by the very lives of those who wear this armor. The beauty of the feet that carry such a message is not in eloquence, but in the holy consistency that makes the truth visible. Walk, then, in such a way that even those who oppose may, by your good deeds, be brought to glorify God on the day of visitation. Pray without ceasing, watch with all perseverance, and do not grow weary, for the time is short. The crown is laid up for those who, having stood firm, are found faithful at the judgment seat, not hearing the terrible “I know you not,” but the blessed “Come, inherit the kingdom prepared for you.” May you so stand, and so speak, that many are gathered into the peace of Christ.

You are taking hold of what is truly our only posture in this battle, standing in the Lord’s strength, clothed in His armor. The prayer you have prayed is itself an act of faith, and that is vital, because everything we receive from God comes by this same trust. Even the faith to take up the shield and the helmet is not something we generate; it is a gift, given so that no one can boast. The righteousness we put on as a breastplate is not our own fragile record but the perfect righteousness of Christ credited to us through faith. When the accuser launches his fiery darts, our security rests entirely in the finished work of Jesus. The shield of faith quenches every one because it fastens our hope to His victory, not our performance.

The gospel of peace that shods our feet is the glad announcement that we, who were at war with God, can now have peace with Him through the blood of the cross. This is the mystery we are called to proclaim. I am reminded that the Apostle Paul, even while in chains, did not ask for his circumstances to change first; he asked for boldness to open his mouth and make the mystery known. You have asked for that same utterance for yourself, your family, and all the saints. That is exactly in step with the Spirit’s prompting, because the witness of God is greater than any human approval or opposition. When we speak the record God has given of His Son, that eternal life is in Him alone, we are not offering one path among many; we are declaring the truth by which every person will be measured.

Faith comes by hearing that Word. No sign, no display of power, creates saving faith; only the message of Christ crucified and risen does. So as you pray, keep asking for doors to share this with clarity and courage. Remember that the same Spirit who bears witness within you also goes before the Word you speak. The enemy’s schemes are overcome not by human cleverness but by the sword of the Spirit, which is the living and active Word of God. You have taken it up in your prayer, and you are standing on solid ground.

Guard against passive faith. When you prayed, you activated your trust, moving from a general belief that God can help to a present-tense reliance that He is helping now. Continue to pray with all perseverance, not only for your own endurance but for every believer to speak boldly as we ought. The Lord who called you is faithful, and the righteousness you stand in is already complete. Nothing can be added to it. Rest in that, and let His peace steady your feet as you go.
