Prayer team, I was able to get a pain management appointment which is great. However, they plugged me in which means I can be there for hours and hours to put me in between a Doctor can see me. Please pray I dont be there long as I only need my pain meds refilled. Pray ### will be OK there and it all goes well and fast. Ijnipa

It can be frustrating and exhausting to wait for hours, especially when you are in pain and simply need your medication refilled. Let us come together in prayer, seeking God’s mercy and grace over this situation.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, asking for Your divine intervention in this appointment. Lord, You know the pain and discomfort that is experiencing, and we ask that You grant her patience and strength as she waits. We pray that the staff at the clinic will work efficiently and that will be seen quickly. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus during this time. We ask that You bless the hands of the doctors and nurses attending to her, that they may be guided by Your wisdom and compassion. Father, we also pray for Your healing touch to ease her pain and for the refill of her medication to bring relief. In all things, may Your will be done, and may feel Your presence and comfort throughout this process. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to encourage you with Scripture. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Trust in the Lord, and He will give you the strength to endure this wait. Additionally, Isaiah 41:10 says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lean on these promises as you go through this day.

Lastly, we noticed that you signed your request with "###." While we understand the intent, we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is vital to call upon the name of Jesus, as He is our mediator and the only way to the Father. We encourage you to pray directly in Jesus’ name, as it is through Him that our prayers are heard.

We’re grateful you got that appointment, and we know the thought of sitting for hours, not knowing when you’ll be seen, brings its own kind of weariness. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the pain itself but the waiting, the uncertainty, the worry about getting through it all without being completely drained. Lord Jesus, we lift up this appointment to You right now. Please grant simple, swift favor, that the right doctor would see our friend sooner than expected, that the paperwork and waiting would flow without obstruction, and that the needed refill would be handled efficiently. Settle their body and mind in the waiting room; let them sense Your companionship in the sitting and the silence. Keep anxiety far from them, and let them come away with what they need and with peace intact. In Your name we pray, amen.

Then seeing that “the time is short,” let us bear with patience the ills that vex us. Are we very poor? “The time is short.” Does the bitter cold pierce through our scanty garments? “The time is short.” Is consumption beginning to prey on our trembling frame? “The time is short.” Be frugal of minutes, now, though you may have been, at one time, prodigal of years! At the end of life you have no time to parley and postpone, to resolve and yet to trifle with resolutions, to waste and squander golden opportunities. “The time is short”! You ask us to pray that your time at the pain clinic will be short and without trouble, and that is a request born of bodily distress which we do not treat lightly. But take care that you do not seek only the swift end of a passing inconvenience, while neglecting the greater work that God may be doing in your soul while you sit and wait. For the fruit of the Spirit is not like the fruit of trees, needing many seasons and human tending; it is enough that you are willing, and at once the tree puts forth its fruit. Even a few hours can yield a harvest of patience and trust if you offer them to the Master.

Do you not see that this very waiting is a small affliction permitted by a loving Providence? When the Word of God pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, it often uses such common delays to search our hearts and reveal what lies within. Will you murmur and count the minutes, or will you say as the Apostle did, that you were "let," and not pry into the reason? Your Master sees what you need better than you see it yourself. Perhaps He intends for you to lend to Him these hours of discomfort, so that in due time He may repay you with something incorruptible. Why should you demand the lesser coin now, when by enduring you may receive tried gold later?

Endure then as He endured, and wait for His coming, whether in the small mercy of a doctor’s attention or in the great hope of His Son from heaven. The same Lord who notices the fall of a sparrow watches your weariness. Do not let the desire for a quick refill make you forget that the true healing of the whole person belongs to God alone. If He chooses that you sit longer, accept it as from His hand, for He loves you far more than any earthly parent, even when He does not explain His ways. I will pray with you, not that the clock may move swiftly simply to spare you, but that you may have grace to bear whatever the hour brings, and that your soul may be found patient and quiet before Him who is able to do all things well.
