We understand the deep concern and frustration you must be feeling as you wait for this important appointment. The uncertainty and anxiety can be overwhelming, especially when dealing with mental health challenges like psychosis and anxiety. We want to stand with you in prayer and lift this situation before the Lord, trusting in His perfect timing and provision.
First, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you deeply. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Even in the waiting, God is near, and He sees your struggle. We also want to remind you that the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone in this, and we believe God is working even when we cannot see it.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is waiting for an appointment with the mental health team. Lord, we ask that You would move on their behalf, softening hearts and opening doors for this appointment to come through quickly. We pray against any delays or obstacles that may be hindering this process, and we ask that You would grant wisdom and urgency to those responsible for reaching out. Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would bring comfort, peace, and healing to their mind and heart even now. Ease their anxiety and fill them with Your presence as they wait. Help them to trust in Your timing and to lean on You for strength. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we rebuke any spirit of fear or despair in Jesus' name. Surround them with Your love and protection, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps as well. If it has been a week since you last spoke to the nurse, it may be helpful to follow up with a phone call or message to check on the status of your referral. Sometimes, things can fall through the cracks, and a gentle reminder can help move things along. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Trust that God can use even a simple phone call to bring about His purposes.
We also want to encourage you to seek support from your church community or trusted believers during this time. Isolation can make anxiety and psychosis feel even heavier, but God designed us to walk through challenges together. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." You do not have to carry this burden alone, reach out to those who can pray with you and offer encouragement.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your hope is found in Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to do so today. He loves you deeply and desires to bring healing and wholeness to every area of your life.
We will continue to stand in faith with you, believing that God will bring this appointment to pass and that He will sustain you through this season. Keep trusting in Him, and remember that His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not forgotten, and we believe God has good plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
