Anxious heart feeling under attack.

Flaemorran

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray as i meet with the PCC of my church, that we speak with Mercy and without judgement. Please pray i will keep it together until the end of the meeting.

We lift you up before the Lord right now as you carry this anxious heart and sense of being under spiritual attack. We understand how heavy it feels when anxiety rises and the enemy seems to press in, especially before an important gathering like your ### meeting. We want you to know you are not alone and we are standing with you in prayer.

Scripture reminds us that anxiety is something we are invited to bring to God and that the battle we feel is real but God is greater. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Ephesians 6:12 also helps us see that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, yet in Christ we have victory and protection.

We also pray with you for this ### meeting, that every word spoken would be seasoned with mercy and grace and free from harsh judgement. Colossians 4:6 calls us to let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt. James 1:19 encourages us to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, and Proverbs 15:1 teaches that a gentle answer turns away wrath. We pray that the Lord will give you and every member wisdom from above, as promised in James 1:5, and that unity and Christlike love will govern the discussion. We ask that God will steady your heart and give you strength to remain composed and clear minded until the end of the meeting. Isaiah 41:10 promises Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. When you feel you cannot keep it together, His strength is made perfect in weakness as 2 Corinthians 12:9 shows.

We also want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We say this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in every prayer and need.

We now pray together for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our dear brother or sister who is anxious and feels under attack. Lord, we ask You to rebuke every scheme of the enemy and to surround this heart with Your perfect peace. Calm the racing thoughts, quiet the fear, and guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Fill this meeting with Your presence. Let mercy and truth meet there. Give each person a spirit of humility and grace, that no judgemental or harsh word would take root, but that all would speak and listen in love. Grant our friend supernatural composure, clarity, and endurance to stay steady until the very end of the meeting, not by personal strength but by Your Spirit. Grant wisdom to all present and let the outcome honor You and build up Your church. We thank You that You hear us because we pray in the name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer and the Word before the meeting, to breathe deeply and remember that God is with you in the room, and to trust that even if emotions rise, His grace will hold you. We are continuing to pray for your peace and for a merciful and edifying time together.

We have been holding you in prayer as this PCC meeting approaches. Feeling under attack and anxious while trying to stay steady for a conversation that matters is a heavy place to be, and we are glad you reached out.

We hear your heart for this meeting, that mercy would shape how everyone speaks and listens, without harsh judgement. Wanting to keep it together until the end is understandable, and feeling shaky or unsettled beforehand does not mean you are failing. It often just means the meeting is important to you.

One small thing that has helped others in a similar spot is to go in with a simple plan on paper. You might write down the one or two points you most want to say in calm, kind words and keep that note in front of you. It can also help to decide ahead of time how you will give yourself a moment if anxiety rises, like pausing, taking a sip of water and quietly asking the Lord for help in that moment. If there is someone you trust, letting them know beforehand that you are feeling nervous can mean you are not carrying it alone into the room.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see this anxious heart and this meeting with the PCC. Grant steadiness and clarity, guard their heart and words, and let mercy be present in the room for everyone. Help them to stay through to the end and to know You are near whatever happens. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your anxious heart under attack has been brought before the Lord, and we have carried your burden to the throne of grace where mercy ever waits to be gracious.

Our Saviour bids us, Neither be ye of a doubtful mind. It is the condition of the inner man, the heart and soul, that He would have us watch, for all outward things are little compared with that spirit within which He has redeemed. When anxiety rises as if everything depended upon us, we are reminded that His Church will not die, for the Lord still lives and His Spirit still abides in her. He who is chief among us is he who serves most and goes lowest for Christ's sake, and in that low place we find rest. Your trembling is not unknown to Him. It is a mercy when the soul feels its own weakness, for then it is emptied of self and cast wholly upon mercy, pure mercy, unmingled mercy, which alone can prepare a soul for glory and sustain it in the hour of trial.

We have prayed for you as you meet with the PCC, that the God of all mercy who is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy would preside over your counsels. May His mercy go before you and forestall you, as it is written, the God of my mercy shall prevent me. He goes before His people to soften the heart, to give tenderness where there has been hardness, and to give words seasoned with grace. We have asked that you may all speak with mercy and without a harsh and censorious judgement, not setting aside truth, for mercy and truth meet together in Christ, but speaking that truth in love as those who have themselves received gratis mercy and who know they live only by it. May the sword of justice remain in its sheath while mercy pleads, and may every word be governed by that charity which seeks to restore and to heal.

We have prayed also that you may be kept and strengthened to the end of the meeting. He who has helped you to pray for mercy while you were yet calling will hear while you are yet speaking. He can make you feel His mercy shed abroad in the heart, not only to know it but to rejoice in it and to rest in it, so that the fevers of pride and the mists of self are swept away. Look not to your own power to keep it together, but to Him who keeps the feet of His saints. He will give you quietness of spirit and words in season, and when your own strength would fail, His mercy shall bear you up.

May the Lord grant you a calm mind, a gentle tongue, and a steadfast heart, and may you come from that room able to say, the Lord has dealt bountifully with me and His mercy has gone before me all the way.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your anxious heart has been brought before the Lord, and I join you in prayer for this meeting with the ###. To feel under attack and to carry anxiety into a room where words matter is a heavy burden, and God sees it and is near to those who call on Him with earnestness.

It is right that you ask for mercy without judgment, for nothing is so characteristic of a Christian as mercy. We ourselves need mercy every day and say with the Psalmist, have mercy upon us according to your great goodness, and the Lord has already shown us His mercy first. Jesus said, blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy, and Scripture warns that judgment without mercy will be shown to those who have not been merciful. When we remember this, we learn to speak to one another not with harshness or a desire to condemn, but with the gentleness that we ourselves hope to receive from God and from others.

I pray for you and for all who will gather. May the Lord give you all a merciful spirit, that you may listen well, speak truthfully and kindly, and not render yourselves unworthy of the mercy you ask from Him. May He guard your hearts from slackness and fear. As we have been taught, the Spirit does not remain in a slack soul, but we need intentness and earnestness, stretching the soul toward heaven not with cords but with fervent prayer. When anxiety about what will be said or how you will be seen tries to enter and loosen your strength, look to the hope of what is to come and ask God to keep your mind braced and on fire with His help.

So I pray now, Father, have mercy on Your servant who feels anxious and pressed. Cover this meeting with Your peace. Grant to each member of the council mercy in speech and freedom from harsh judgment. Give steadiness and clarity, that this brother or sister may keep together in heart and mind until the end of the meeting, speaking and hearing as You would have them do. Strengthen what is weak, calm what is troubled, and let Your light be seen in acts of mercy and grace. Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our hope. Amen.
