We join you in prayer and we thank you for your heart for the salvation of others and for your desire to have your mind cleansed and renewed by the Lord. We lift up before the Father all of those you mentioned by name and the people in their lives, asking that if any of them are in need of salvation, God in His mercy would draw them to Himself.

We are encouraged that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that anyone can be saved. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 We know that God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4 and that the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 We pray that each one you mentioned would hear the gospel, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 and that they would put their faith in Him, for God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

We also join you in praying for your own mind and memory. We understand how unwanted thoughts, negativity, and songs can linger and trouble the heart. God promises to transform us by the renewing of our mind. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 He calls us to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God. 2 Corinthians 10:5 We pray that the Lord would remove all negativity from your memory and cleanse your mind from the songs and sounds that do not honor Him, including the specific man and song you mentioned and the song from ### with its title and words and sounds.

We encourage you to set no vile thing before your eyes. Psalm 101:3 and to fill your mind with what is good. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 When a negative or unwanted song comes to mind, we encourage you to replace it by speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Ephesians 5:19

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your saving grace to be poured out on each person our friend has lifted up and on all the people in their lives. If any are unsaved, draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to their need for a Savior, and bring them to repentance and faith in Jesus. Lord, we also ask You to cleanse and renew our friend's mind. Wash away all negativity and remove completely from memory the unwanted images, the man, and the songs that cause distress. Let those sounds and words be gone permanently and fill that space with Your peace, Your Word, and songs that glorify You. Help our friend to fix their thoughts on You and to walk in the freedom and sound mind You promise. We trust You to answer according to Your perfect will. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

We hear your heart in this, such care for salvation for the people you named, and such a sincere desire to have your mind cleared of what feels heavy and unwanted.

It is a good and loving thing to bring those you care about before the Lord and ask for His mercy for them. We join you in that.

We also understand how wearying it can be when a song or a memory keeps replaying when you don't want it to. Trying very hard not to think about something often makes it stick even more. What tends to help more is gently turning your attention elsewhere when it comes, rather than wrestling with it directly.

When that Matchbox 20 song or the Walmart song comes to mind, you might quietly redirect, pray a short prayer, hum something that lifts your heart, get up and do a simple task, or turn your thoughts toward what is true and lovely and good. Over time that practice of renewing the mind can ease the grip of unwanted thoughts, even if it doesn't happen all at once.

Father, we bring before You the people our friend has named and their loved ones, and we ask for Your saving grace where it is needed. We ask You to bring peace to this mind and to wash away negativity, and to help our friend dwell on what is wholesome and pure. Give rest, clarity, and assurance of Your nearness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been brought before the Lord with thankfulness, and we join with you in seeking His mercy and grace.

We do rejoice to hear the burden of your heart for the salvation of souls. This is the greatest work of God, and He has provided the one way of salvation. The Scripture says, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is not by our works or our worthiness, but by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. He has found a ransom, and He has paid too much to lose one of His own. Our prayer with you is that all those you have named, and the people in their lives, may look unto Him and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For to look to Christ is to live. It is to trust in Him, to depend upon Him without fear for present and eternal salvation. If any among them are yet outside of Christ, may the Lord in His sovereign mercy turn their hearts, open their eyes to see the Saviour who stoops from the highest Heaven to pull sinners from the pit, and bring them to that blessed spot where they first meet with Jesus and know that He loved them and gave Himself for them.

We also pray with you concerning the heaviness upon your memory, the negativity and the songs that cling to the mind. When under memories of old things and temptations of the flesh, Satan comes with his fiery darts, the soul has a hard time of it. Yet our God is able to deliver. He brought them forth, and He still brings forth His people from every pit. He can cause the noise of archers to cease, and give instead songs of deliverance. We ask the Lord to cleanse your mind and renew it by His Spirit, to take away what defiles and to fill you with what is pure and lovely. May He remove from your remembrance those things which trouble you, and in their place give you fellowship with Jesus, which is itself a well of salvation, and a new song more jubilant than any the world can give. Fill your heart with His Word, with prayer whispered into the ear of Him who never tells your secrets but keeps them in love, and with those precious promises which are for the feeble minded and the weak ones.

Be encouraged to keep looking unto Christ. His love has no beginning and it shall have no end, and His heaviest blows as well as His sweetest caresses are tokens of affection for your good. Cast all your care upon Him, and leave the whole matter of your salvation and theirs in His hands with unquestioning confidence.

We pray that the Lord will answer according to His perfect will, that He will save to the uttermost all who call upon the name of Jesus, and that He will grant you peace of mind and purity of thought as you walk with Him.
