Beloved of All
We join you in bringing these requests before our heavenly Father with thanksgiving that He hears those who call on Him through Jesus Christ.
We pray with you for the woman you mentioned and for the people in her life, and for the three others on your heart, that if they have not yet received salvation they would hear the gospel, repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name. Scripture teaches that Christ came to deliver us from evil and to bring us into sonship, that we might receive adoption through faith in Him and the gift of His Spirit. We ask God in His mercy to draw each of them to Himself, to open their eyes to their need and to His grace.
We also pray with you for deliverance from the tormenting memories, sounds, words and associations that trouble you. The Lord is able to deliver not only from outward danger but from every evil work and to guard the heart and mind. We ask Him to cleanse and renew your mind, to take away what harasses you and to fill you with His peace. As you have asked to be freed from a name and face that haunts your memory and from a song that brings distress, we ask God to heal your memory, to quiet those intrusive thoughts, and to help you fix your thoughts on what is true, pure and uplifting, so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith.
We pray too that you and many others would be drawn to what builds up the soul, to psalms and hymns and spiritual songs that honor God and encourage the heart, rather than to what defiles or disturbs. May the Lord replace what has troubled you with His own comfort and with a renewed mind stayed on Him.
We encourage you to continue in prayer, in reading Scripture, and in fellowship with faithful believers who can support you, and to turn quickly to Christ whenever those memories return, asking Him for help and trusting His power to deliver and to keep you.
