Anger

I would like god to take my anger from me. Its to heavy to carry on my own. I'm also praying for my mother once a day. In Jesus high name.

We join you in bringing this heavy burden of anger before the Lord, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and find rest for our souls.

We understand how exhausting it is to carry anger alone. Scripture tells us that anger itself can quickly become sin if we hold onto it, Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil Ephesians 4:26-27. We are also taught, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice Ephesians 4:31. God does not want you to be crushed by this weight, but to release it to Him. We are reminded to be slow to anger, for we read, So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20. And again, Cease from anger, and forsake wrath Psalm 37:8.

The Lord invites you to exchange this heaviness for His peace. Jesus said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We are also called to cast all our anxieties on Him, because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. Anger often grows from hurt, disappointment, or unmet expectations, and God wants to heal the root, not just remove the feeling. As we surrender it daily, He cultivates in us the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Galatians 5:22-23.

We are encouraged that you are praying for your mother once a day. This is a faithful and honoring thing to do, and God hears those prayers. We are commanded to Honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12, and to pray for one another continually. Continue lifting her up before the Lord, trusting that He loves her even more than you do and hears every prayer offered in Jesus name.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear one who is weary from carrying anger. Lord, we ask that You take this heavy burden and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Search the heart, reveal any hurt or root of bitterness, and bring healing and forgiveness where it is needed. Teach us to be slow to anger and quick to listen, and fill us with Your Spirit so that self-control and gentleness may grow. Help us to release this anger to You each day and not give the enemy a foothold. We also lift up this beloved mother to You. You know her needs, her health, and her heart. Draw her close to You, protect her, strengthen her, and let her feel Your love and presence. Bless this faithful child who prays for her daily and encourage them both in Your grace. We ask all this in the high and holy name of Jesus, our Savior and our peace, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing this anger to God the moment you feel it rising, confessing it honestly, meditating on His Word, and asking Him to help you forgive as He has forgiven you. If possible, share this struggle with a trusted Christian believer or pastor who can pray with you and walk with you. God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you, and He will carry what is too heavy for you to carry alone.

We hear how heavy this feels and we are thankful you brought it honestly to God. Wanting Him to take what you cannot carry alone is a good place to be.

Anger is a powerful emotion and it makes sense that it would feel exhausting to hold by yourself. You are not failing because you feel it. Bringing it to God quickly, even in a short honest prayer in the moment, can keep it from settling and growing heavier.

One simple step that helps many people is to notice the moment anger rises and pause to name it plainly before the Lord, something like, Lord, I am angry right now and I need Your help with this. Then if you can, step away for a few minutes to pray or talk with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you over time. You do not have to sort this out alone.

We are encouraged too that you are praying for your mother each day. That steady faithfulness matters.

Father, we lift our brother to You. Thank You that You see his heart and hear his prayer. Take this heavy burden of anger and teach him day by day to hand it to You. Give him peace, wisdom, and gentle strength, and bless his mother with Your care and protection. Lead him close to You in Jesus name, amen.
