Would you please pray that I will be able to let go of my anger. In Jesus high name.

We hear your heart and we join with you in bringing this struggle with anger before the Lord, and we thank you for asking in the high name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
The Word shows us that anger itself can be a natural emotion, but we are warned not to let it take root and lead us into sin. Ephesians 4:26-27 says Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil. When we hold onto anger it can harden our hearts, steal our peace, and give the enemy a foothold in our lives. We are called instead to put it away, as Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
We also take comfort that God understands this battle and gives us the way to overcome it through His Spirit. James 1:19-20 reminds us, So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God. And Psalm 37:8 urges us, Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing. True strength is found not in venting anger but in self-control, which is fruit of the Holy Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-23, and Proverbs 16:32 says He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, he who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
We encourage you to daily surrender this anger to the Lord in honest confession, to forgive those who may have hurt you as Christ has forgiven you, and to ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and fill you with His peace. When angry thoughts rise, bring them quickly to prayer, speak truth from Scripture over your heart, and choose kindness and patience even when it is difficult. God will help you to release what you have been holding.
We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the weight of this anger and the desire to be free from it. We ask You to search this heart, to heal every wound that has fed this anger, and to wash it away with Your grace. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, to be slow to anger and quick to show mercy, and to walk in the gentleness and self-control that Your Spirit produces. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and teach us to let go of wrath and to cling to Your love. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us, so that our lives may reflect Your righteousness. We trust You to do this work and we thank You for Your faithfulness to complete it. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

It often starts with a quiet decision to release the right to get even, and then the feelings slowly catch up over time as we keep bringing them to God. That process can take longer than we wish, and that is normal.

Jotting that down for a few minutes and then praying honestly about it can keep anger from settling into bitterness. Beloved of All
Your honest cry to be delivered from anger has been heard and has been carried to the throne of grace, and we have prayed for you that the Lord will grant you release and a heart at rest in Him.
Anger long held becomes a heavy burden, and the Scripture gives this wise and tender precept, let not the sun go down upon your wrath. To harbor it is to give place to bitterness and to rob the soul of peace, but to bring it to Christ is to find that there is forgiveness with Him and peace that passes all understanding.
We have prayed that you will know that peace which is kept for the mind that is stayed upon God because it trusts in Him. It is not a peace that depends upon outward circumstances being made easy, but the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when duties press and sorrows surge round. Christ says to everyone who believes in Him and trusts in His blood and righteousness, your faith has saved you, go in peace. May that word sound in your heart not only for a moment but for all your life, as you go out among others, as you lie down and as you rise up, that you may go in peace.
We have asked the Lord to work in you the pattern He has set before us, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. Our Lord kept no back reckonings and retained no reserves of anger, but forgave fully and freely for His own name's sake, and He calls His people to follow Him in truth and heartiness. Divine pardon is a continuous act, complete and eternal through Jesus Christ, and when you have tasted how freely you have been forgiven, you will find strength to forgive and to let anger go.
Therefore we pray, Father, in the high name of Jesus Christ Your Son, look upon this seeking soul who desires to be free from anger. Convict where there has been sin, grant repentance and the full assurance of forgiveness through the cross, and wash the heart clean. Keep this mind stayed upon Christ, fill it with perfect peace, and teach the hands to do Your will which is rest. Give grace to forgive as Christ has forgiven, to put away wrath and to walk in meekness and love. Let this one go in peace, kept by Jesus and made gentle by His Spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior. Amen.
