I acted on my anger please pray for Jesus to help me.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly and for wanting Jesus to help you in this struggle. God hears a contrite heart that turns to Him, and your desire to repent is itself a sign of His work in you.

You asked if this is normal as a Christian and if you are not saved because you lost your temper. All Christians still wrestle with sin while we are in this life. Feeling anger is not by itself what condemns you, but God gave us anger not to commit acts of violence against our neighbor or to lash out, but to be vehement against sin and the devil and to correct what is wrong in a loving way. When anger boils over into harsh words or actions against another person, it comes from littleness of mind, not from the purpose God intended, and it can make things worse for everyone. Loud speaking is fuel for that passion, so learning to abstain from anger and to keep our speech gentle is part of walking faithfully.

You are not saved because you never fail, and you are not unsaved because you failed once. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by His mercy and grace, not by our perfect record. At the same time, true faith does not take sin lightly. It leads us to apply the remedies God has given, which are repentance, prayer, humility, a contrite heart, and turning to Him with full assurance of faith. If you have trusted Christ, your hope remains steadfast in Him, and He calls you to draw near with a true heart, confess what happened, and receive His forgiveness and help to change.

That means taking this moment to God without excuse, asking Him to forgive you for acting on anger, and asking Him to help you see where that anger took hold. It helps to turn that zeal inward in a right way, to be a strict judge of your own sin, to scourge your conscience with truth and grace, and to be merciful toward the one you sinned against. It also helps in practical ways to avoid loud speaking and to pause, pray, and step away before responding when you feel anger rising, so that your words remain credible and gentle.

I will pray for you now. Lord Jesus, thank You that You save sinners by Your mercy alone. Forgive my brother or sister for acting on anger and cleanse this wound. Grant a humble and contrite heart, teach them to lift holy hands without wrath, and to use the energy of anger only against sin and the enemy, not against people made in Your image. Fill them with Your Spirit, give them strength to be slow to anger, quick to listen, and to show the same mercy they have received from You. Restore peace where harm was done and help them walk in repentance and love from this day forward. Amen.

If you have not already, go to the person you hurt if it is safe and possible, confess briefly and humbly, ask forgiveness, and continue in prayer and in the Word. God is able to keep you and to grow you in gentleness as you keep turning to Christ.

Your honesty in bringing this before the Lord is itself a good step, and He hears you when you ask for His help. Losing your temper does not mean you are not a Christian, and it does not mean you have lost your salvation.

It is normal for Christians to still struggle with sin, including anger. Scripture does not hide the failures of its people. Two sons of Jacob acted in fierce anger and killed the men of an entire city, and years later their father still rebuked them for that cursed anger, and they lost the place of blessing because of it. That shows how seriously God takes anger and how real consequences can follow. Yet Scripture also shows forgiveness and reconciliation. When Jacob feared meeting his brother Esau after years of separation, he tried to appease his brother's anger with gifts, but in the end their meeting was not bitter. They embraced, kissed, and wept together. God is open about both sin and grace, and He offers a way to be forgiven and to grow.

Salvation is not earned by never losing your temper. The very name Jesus means the Lord is salvation. He came to save His people from their sins, and by obeying the Father even to the cross He became the author of eternal salvation for all who trust Him. The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. It is a great salvation, open to whoever will come, and it reaches even the lowest sinner who will receive it.

When you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you are saved. To submit to Him as Lord now, willingly and from the heart, is to receive eternal life. That is a gift of grace, not a reward for perfect behavior.

Many believers live for years without assurance because they are looking at their own efforts and works to make themselves righteous. If assurance depends on never failing, no one can ever have it. Full assurance comes only as you trust completely in the grace and mercy of God through Christ and in your position in Him. That is why the apostle John wrote his letter, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

The call to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling does not mean to work for your salvation. Having received the gift, you are now called to live it out with reverence and diligence, obeying Him because He is your Lord. Jesus said, why do you call me Lord and not do what I command. Obedience does not earn salvation, but it belongs to a life that has been saved, and it affects your growth and your future reward, not whether you are His.

So bring this anger to Him in repentance. Confess it plainly, receive His cleansing through the blood of Christ, and ask Him to change you from within. God has given His Spirit to help you, and He will teach you to turn from anger quickly, to speak and act with patience, and to seek reconciliation where you have hurt others. One failure does not define you. God is faithful to forgive and to continue His work in you.

I pray that Jesus will help you in this very place of struggle, that He will give you His peace and self control, and that He will give you a settled assurance that you are His, not because you have been perfect, but because you are trusting in Him who is your salvation.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have been lifting you up before the Lord.

We want you to know that we understand the burden and conviction you are feeling after acting on your anger and losing your temper. We want to reassure you that struggling with anger does not mean you are not saved. Even as Christians we still wrestle with the flesh and we all fall short at times. What you are experiencing is not uncommon, though God calls us to be slow to anger as it says in James 1:19 and Eph 4:26. Your sorrow over this shows the work of the Holy Spirit in your heart.

We want to remind you that our salvation is not kept by our perfect behavior but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and that when we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us as promised in 1 John 1:9. There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus as we are told in Rom 8:1. We pray that Jesus will help you to find peace and assurance in His forgiveness, to turn from this anger in repentance, and to grow in self control and gentleness by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray that He will guard your heart and give you strength to respond with patience and love in the moments when anger rises.

If your request was answered and you have felt His peace and help, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If you are still wrestling with anger or with doubts about your salvation and your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray this in Jesus Name. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
