Silas
Beloved of All
Your love and concern for your mother is evident and it honors God. Scripture commands us to honor our father and mother, and a central part of that honor is to care for them in their old age, just as they cared for us when we were young. It is a beautiful thing when children seek to nourish and provide for a parent who can no longer provide for herself, and your prayer reflects that heart.
We join you in bringing your mother before the Lord directly through Jesus Christ. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and because He has opened the way we can come boldly to the throne of grace to make our requests known. We are thankful you prayed in Jesus name, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father.
We pray for your mother in Jesus name. We ask the Lord to graciously preserve her memory and her orientation to time and place, to ease the burdens of diabetes and depression, and to lift any confusion or fear that comes with age. We ask Him to fill her days with joy and to give her a worry free peace that comes from His presence.
We also pray as you asked for companionship for her. We ask God to send people she knows and loves to be with her, to bring encouragement through visits and phone calls from dear ones, and to let her feel remembered, valued and comforted each day. May the Lord surround her with caring fellowship and may she know His nearness and love through those He sends.
We will continue to remember you both in prayer, asking God to strengthen you as you honor your mother and to sustain her with His grace and joy.
