We join you in lifting up your precious mother before the throne of grace and we are moved by your deep love and honor for her. It is a beautiful thing in the sight of God when children rise up to care for their parents with such tenderness and devotion, for it fulfills the commandment, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. We see your heart to not only cover her needs but the desires of her heart, to ease her fear, and to ensure she is not alone, and we bring all of this to our Father together in Jesus name.
We pray for your mother in her affliction with early Alzheimer, diabetes, and depression. We ask the Lord to have mercy upon her and to bring healing, comfort, and brightness to her mind. We remember the promise that Yahweh says, and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver Isaiah 46:4. We ask Him to carry her now, to gentle her anxious thoughts, to lift the heaviness of depression, and to grant wisdom to her doctors and to you as you help steward her health. We pray, Don’t reject me in my old age. Don’t forsake me when my strength fails Psalm 71:9, knowing that He will not forsake her, for He has promised, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5.
We also lift up her fear of dying alone. We pray that the Lord would surround her with His perfect presence and peace so that she knows even in the darkest valley she is never alone. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me Psalm 23:4. We ask that God would quiet her fear and replace it with the assurance that He holds her hand now and forever, and we pray that He would grant your heartfelt desire to be beside her and to hold her hand when that time comes, if it be His will. We join you in asking for many more days for her, and for those days to be filled with as much joy, peace, and clarity as He can give.
We bring before the Lord your desire for a solution for her care and your vision for a house with three apartments so that you, your brother, and your mother can live near one another and care for her properly. This is a godly and loving desire. We pray for clear direction and open doors. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We ask God to give you and your brother supernatural wisdom for every decision regarding her care, finances, living arrangements, and medical needs. We trust with you that with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26. Nothing is too hard for Him, and we pray that you will continue to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.
We pray that God will supply every need for your mother and for your family as you seek to honor Him in this. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. We ask Him to provide the best possible care for her, whether through you, your family, or trusted help He provides, and to give you strength and endurance as caregivers, for His grace is sufficient.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come together and lift this beloved mother to You. Have mercy on her, Lord. Touch her body, her mind, and her spirit. Ease the progression of Alzheimer and bring moments of brightness and clarity. Bring balance to her body with diabetes and lift the cloud of depression with Your joy and presence. Let her feel Your hand holding hers every day, and cast out all fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self control 2 Timothy 1:7. Provide for every need and desire of her heart according to Your will, and grant her peace and happiness in the days You have ordained for her. Guide her children with wisdom, unity, and provision to care for her in the best way. If it is Your will, make a way for them to live near her and care for her daily, even though in the natural it seems impossible, for we know all things are possible with You. Give this family faith, hope, and rest in Your perfect plan. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only access to the Father, Amen.
