Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing this desire before God so honestly and for humbling yourself to apologize for your earlier post. God does not despise a contrite and humble heart, but looks to the one who trembles at His word and comes to Him with lowliness of mind.
I understand the longing to be seen and liked and to have many people show interest in you. That desire for approval is common, but Scripture calls us to a different way. Christ began His teaching by blessing the poor in spirit, not those who are exalted by many, and the apostle teaches us to think soberly about ourselves, not more highly than we ought to think. Sobriety here means keeping the mind safe and sound, not being carried away by vanity or by the search for validation from others. When we chase many hearts on a profile, we risk becoming men pleasers, seeking to be seen by others rather than living with singleness of heart and fear of God when no one is watching.
He has also called us to keep the beauty He has given us undefiled, without spot or wrinkle, which includes keeping our desires pure. If marriage is what you hope for, God presents it as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and intimacy belongs within that covenant alone. For that reason I cannot ask God to bless a pursuit of many girls at once or to grant many fleeting chats for their own sake, because that would ask Him to feed restlessness rather than to form Christlike character in you.
Instead I will pray for what is better for your soul. I pray that God will give you a lowly and sober mind, contentment in Him, and a pure heart that seeks His will first. I pray that He will guard you from seeking your worth in likes or messages, and teach you to live before His sleepless eye with integrity. If it is His will for you to marry, I pray He will prepare you to love one woman faithfully as Christ loves the Church, and in His time bring a godly wife who shares faith in Jesus Christ alone, for it is through Him alone we are saved and cleansed.
May the Lord today draw your heart closer to Himself, quiet the craving for many hearts from others, and give you peace in knowing you are fully known and loved by Him. Bring your loneliness and hopes to Him again, not to be exalted in the eyes of many, but to be made humble, steady, and ready to walk in His way.
