Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear your longing for companionship and the desire to find a godly spouse who will cherish and walk with you in faith. While it’s natural to want connection, we must examine this request carefully in light of Scripture. First, we must address the focus on self, seeking validation through the attention of others, even in the way it’s framed ("every girl... will all like my profile and everything about me"). The Bible warns against pride and self-centeredness, reminding us that our worth is found in Christ alone, not in the approval of others. "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s" (1 John 2:16). Instead of seeking to be admired by many, we are called to seek a spouse who loves the Lord and shares your commitment to Him.

Your desire for a "perfect match" and "love of your life" must be rooted in God’s design for marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God for mutual love, support, and the reflection of Christ’s relationship with the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is not about finding someone who meets every earthly expectation but about finding a fellow believer who will help you grow in faith and holiness. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We encourage you to seek a wife who fears the Lord, not just one who fits a worldly ideal of perfection.

We must also gently rebuke the use of a dating app as the primary means of finding a spouse. While technology can be a tool, it often reduces relationships to superficial interactions based on appearances or fleeting emotions. The Bible calls us to pursue wisdom and discernment in relationships, not to rely on algorithms or the whims of others. "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord" (Proverbs 18:22). This implies active, intentional pursuit, not passively waiting for messages to flood in. Consider investing time in godly communities, such as your local church, where you can build relationships based on shared faith and values.

Most importantly, we must address the absence of Christ in your request. Your hope for the future should first be anchored in Him, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the fullness of life. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no other name, and our deepest longings, including the desire for marriage, must be submitted to His will. Have you placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If not, we urge you to do so, for He alone can satisfy the deepest needs of your heart. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). This does not mean He will give you everything you want, but that He will align your desires with His perfect will.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this brother who longs for companionship and a godly marriage. Lord, we ask that You would first draw him closer to You, that he may find his identity and worth in Christ alone. Search his heart, Father, and reveal any areas of pride, self-reliance, or misplaced desires. Help him to seek You above all else, trusting that You know the plans You have for him, plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

We pray for wisdom and discernment as he seeks a wife. May he not be swayed by the world’s standards but look for a woman who loves You and shares his commitment to Your Word. Guard his heart from impatience or frustration, and remind him that Your timing is perfect. If it is Your will for him to marry, lead him to a godly woman who will encourage his faith and walk alongside him in obedience to You.

Father, we also ask that You would purify his motives. Help him to desire a marriage that honors You, not one built on fleeting emotions or superficial connections. Teach him to trust in Your provision and to wait patiently for Your best. May he find contentment in You, knowing that You are enough, even as he waits for the blessings You have in store.

We rebuke any spirit of loneliness or desperation that may be driving him to seek validation from others. Instead, fill him with Your peace and the assurance that he is deeply loved by You. May he grow in faith and maturity, becoming the man You have called him to be, a man after Your own heart.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to shift your focus from seeking the attention of many to seeking the heart of one who loves the Lord. Spend time in prayer and Scripture, asking God to prepare you for the spouse He has for you, if it is His will. Get involved in your local church, serve others, and allow God to shape your character as you wait. Remember, "The Lord isn’t slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Trust in His timing, and He will guide your steps.

It’s easy to pour all our hope into that one image on a screen, wishing every match would turn into a conversation and every conversation into the love of our life. That kind of longing is real, and it can feel consuming, especially in the quiet afternoon hours when the silence stretches out longer than we want it to.

We’ve sat with enough people to know that the ache for a partner isn’t a small thing. But we’ve also seen that relationships grow best when they aren’t rushed or forced. A flood of messages from every person who sees you probably wouldn’t bring the clarity and peace you’re really after; it would more likely bring noise and confusion. The right connection usually happens slowly, with one real person, not a crowd. And even before that, your worth and your life are already complete in Christ, not pending a match.

A small concrete step might be to step back from the app for a day or two and use that time to ask God what kind of man you want to be for the woman you hope to meet. Write down the character qualities and habits you want to grow in, and ask Him to build those in you right where you are. Often, the life we cultivate in the waiting is what makes us ready to recognize the real thing when it comes.

Let’s pray together, then.

Jesus, thank You that You see this desire and You are not distant from it. Quiet the restless ache in our friend’s heart. Help him to rest in Your love today, not needing a phone to light up in order to feel valued. If it’s Your will, guide him toward a woman who loves You and will walk closely with him, in Your time and not a minute late. But until then, steady him with Your peace and give him wisdom in how he uses his days. We ask this in Your name, Amen.

A wish to be universally admired, to receive a flood of messages from every eye that glances upon your likeness, this is a dangerous prayer, for it asks not for what is good, but for what feeds the pride of life. The heart that craves such adulation is leaning upon a broken reed, and you may be sure that the god of this world would gladly grant you a shower of vanity to keep your soul from seeking the true and satisfying portion. What will it profit you if every girl should message you, and yet your own heart remains estranged from the fear of the Lord? In that fear alone is strong confidence and a place of refuge; the fear of man, and the hunger for his approval, will only make you waver.

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, for the soul that delights itself in the Lord finds its desires shaped and purified. Instead of dreaming of a perfect match who meets every fancy, set your affection upon Him whose love surpasses knowledge, who gave Himself for His church with a love of complacency and unwavering devotion. When you have drunk deeply of that fountain, you will be content to trust your earthly desires to His wise and tender providence. The Lord knows what you need; He who found a bride for Isaac in the field at eventide can guide your steps without your frantic scheming.

Do not make an idol of marriage or of the admiration of strangers. The hypocrite may use public prayer as a stage, but the true Christian is at home in seeking the Lord in all seasons, and in casting every care upon Him. If it pleases Him to give you a wife, He will do so in His own time and way, without your demanding that all should bow to your profile at twelve-thirty in the afternoon. Wait upon the Lord, and let your delight be in Him. Then, whether single or married, you shall prove that the love of Christ is better than life, and that His companionship is the only one that never fails. Put away this feverish longing for universal approval; instead, pray that you may be worthy of the approbation of Heaven, and that your life may be hidden with Christ in God.

Your prayer reveals a heart that seeks to command God rather than to entreat Him. You have fixed your desires on a precise hour, a flood of admiration, and a lifelong guarantee of romantic success, as though the Almighty were a servant you could order to deliver your will. Consider how far this is from the holy ones of old. Daniel, cast into the den for God’s sake, counted himself unworthy even to be heard, yet you, with all the pollutions common to man, draw up demands as if entitled to an immediate answer. If your first prayer is not granted to the letter, you are ready to draw back, or perhaps to despair. Truly, great is the distance between such souls and the humble, as great as between heaven and earth.

What you seek is the admiration of every eye, a universal applause from these women. But this is the very disease the Apostle warns against: “not with eye-service, as men-pleasers.” Do you not see that a love rooted in such universal approval is no love at all, but a craving for self-display? If you win a wife by a profile crafted to please every passing glance, you have built on the sand of appearances. The virtue of a Christian is to fear God and act with singleness of heart, not angling for the praise of many. Would you not rather have one good woman who sees your soul as it is, than a thousand whose favor you have purchased by managing your image?

You demand that the perfect match come to you on your terms, at your appointed time. Yet God often withholds what we clamor for, even a good thing, lest we be puffed up by the gift. If you obtain your desire so easily, what will keep you from pride, from neglecting the Giver in favor of the gift? The very delay, the uncertainty, the few replies instead of the multitude, these are the tools by which God trains the soul to cling to Him, not to a fantasy. Do not suppose that happiness lies in every girl messaging you. That is the imagination of a groveling mind, which cannot bear the tribunal of its own conscience and so seeks a noisy crowd to drown out its doubts.

Instead, turn your energy to “abhorring that which is evil, cleaving to that which is good.” Examine your heart: is this consuming desire for universal attention a good to which you should cleave, or an evil to be loathed from the depths of your soul? For if you love a thing that leads only to vanity and self-worship, you have missed the love that is without dissimulation. The right love, for a wife, for a family, begins in submission to God’s will, not in scheduling His response. Prepare yourself not by demanding a perfect match, but by becoming a man of virtue. If you are a saintly man through faith and conduct, you will attract what is truly good, even if it be one quiet soul rather than a multitude. And if you remain unmarried? That too may be your path to salvation; no one is entitled to a spouse as a debt.

Therefore, cease dictating to God what time the messages should arrive and how many must bow to your profile. Instead, pray thus: “Lord, if it be for my profit and salvation, grant me a godly wife in Your time, and give me the grace to be a faithful husband. But if not, let Your will be done, and keep me from sin.” Such a prayer is heard in the heavenlies, for it seeks the glory of the Giver, not the gratification of the petitioner. Go and live in singleness of heart, fearing God, and you will find that whether free or bound, you receive from the Lord the good that lasts beyond the present life.

I hear a longing for companionship and a deep desire to be known and chosen. That ache is real, and God made us for relationship. But look carefully at what this wish is asking. It wants every girl to like everything about you, to message you on your timeline, and to hand you the perfect match so that your life will be complete. That isn't love, it’s a demand for validation, and it leaves no room for another person's heart, their freedom, or God's wiser plan.

Much of what the world calls love is simply self-gratification dressed up in romance. It says, “I love you because of what you do for me, how you make me feel, how you meet my checklist.” That kind of affection can feel intense, but it centers on self. The truest love, the love God pours into us through His Spirit, is different. It is giving, not grasping. It suffers long and is kind. It does not seek its own. When you pin your hopes on everyone approving of you, you are chasing a love that can never satisfy, because it depends on constant applause. The moment someone doesn't respond, the fear creeps back in.

Fear is torment, but God’s perfect love casts out fear. When you rest in the unshakable truth that the Creator of the universe set His affection on you while you were still far off, you stop needing to manipulate outcomes or demand that everyone notice you. His love is not for sale; you cannot earn it, and you cannot buy it by crafting an impressive profile. And a marriage built on anything less than His selfless, giving love will crumble under the weight of two people trying to get their own needs met.

If you want to find a woman who is truly right for you, stop focusing on how many women message you at exactly 12:30. Instead, ask the Lord to form His love in you, love that is patient, love that is not envious, love that does not parade itself. Become the kind of man who loves not in word only but in deed and truth, who can lay down his life for another rather than demanding that all attention turn toward him. A godly spouse is not a prize you extract from a crowd of admirers. She is a gift God entrusts to you when you are first satisfied in His love and walking in the humble, faithful character of Christ.

There is nothing wrong with wanting marriage. But remember that the greatest command is not to find the love of your life, it is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Entrust your desires to Him, and let Him write your story. He knows what you need, and His love is better than the fleeting rush of a hundred voicemails. It will carry you both now and forever.
