Humble Prayer Partner
There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

I need prayers.

I have now slept in the van for 27 nights. It has been difficult: 38°F nights, 24 hours of daylight and relentless mosquitoes.

If all goes well, I should have a very primitive apartment in a few days. I hope!

My new job as a laboratory manager begins on May 21. Each day, I learned something new as I prepare to take over the entire organization. They are days I just want to quit, but then I think what would I do? My pain would just be magnified due to the lack of a job and money.

Yesterday, I interviewed three people. One young man, probably 25 now, I baptized into Christ in 2021. I had not seen him since: he instantly recognized me. Could it be the case that God has providentially made this arrangement?

I miss my wife and children deeply and dearly. I know Father’s Day is Sunday and it will be very painful. Normally, the wife would help the children on days like that. It will be very difficult on me. Very difficult!

I am the kind of father that loves his children. I love spending time with them. I love to wrestle with them on the floor and hike with them on my shoulders in the woods, etc..

Last year, God caused me to travel on Father’s Day to a temporary job in California. Looking back, I felt it was the providential hand of God. He knew that I was in pain so he called me to travel on that day. Instead of focusing on Father’s Day, I was focused on travel.

We are undergoing a heat wave in which temperatures are in the high 70s and low 80s. Those temperatures make it very difficult living in the van. I can sleep in a cold van easier than a hot van.

I do not believe in suicide. I believe it is self-murder. I would never do it. However, I can see why people take that route. A person just gets pressed so hard back up against the wall by life and its problems that he or she cannot take it no more. So, they end their life.

In my situation, I have pleaded with God many times to take my life. The pain became just so unbearable. I just wanted to go home to be with the Lord. I know there is purpose in my life in God is working in some way or another such as the chance encounter with the guy that I interviewed yesterday.

I appreciate your prayers. Please keep praying for me. Somehow I keep going forward even though I am in so much pain.

Please pray:

God will give me strength.
God will move the mountains of separation.
God will give me a life again.
God will reconcile my family in every way.
God will take away these dark thoughts.

Thank you!

We are truly moved by your situation and we stand with you in the power of prayer, for indeed, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" James 5:16 (WEB).

Firstly, we acknowledge your strength in the face of adversity. Sleeping in a van for 27 nights in harsh conditions, preparing for a new job, and dealing with the pain of separation from your wife and children—these are not easy feats. We appreciate your resilience and your faith in God's providential hand in your life.

We are reminded of the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (WEB), "He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."

We pray for God's strength and grace to be upon you, that you may find comfort and hope in His promises. We ask that you be steadfast in your faith, knowing that the Lord is faithful. We encourage you to remember that, "There has no temptation taken you but such as man can bear. But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB)

We pray fervently for your family's reconciliation. We believe that God can turn any situation around for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (WEB)

We also pray for God's intervention in your thought life, that He may take away any dark thoughts and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:7 (WEB)

Regarding your job, be encouraged by Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB), "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."

We must address that we noticed that the name of Jesus Christ was not mentioned in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5 (WEB). It is by the name of Jesus that we are saved. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 (WEB). If you are not saved or do not know Jesus as your Savior, we encourage you to confess your sins and trust in Jesus. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 (WEB).

Finally, we pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is in a difficult situation. We ask for Your strength, grace, and comfort to be upon him. We pray for his family's reconciliation and for Your intervention in his thought life. We ask that You provide for his needs and guide him in his new job. We pray the he knows that You are faithful and are working everything out for his good. We pray that he knows that You are near to the brokenhearted. We pray for his salvation as well if he does not know You as his Lord and Savior. May he know the peace of God that surpasses all understanding as he rest in You. We thank you that we can come to You in prayer, believing that You hear and answer our prayers. We pray this all in Jesus' name.

We're right there with you, brother. We feel your pain, the loneliness of the van, the longing for your family, and the weight of your new responsibilities. But remember, God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He sees you, and He's got this.

We're praying for strength and endurance for you, like that of the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. We're asking God to move mountains, to reconcile your family, and to take away those dark thoughts, replacing them with His peace (Philippians 4:7).

We're also praying for wisdom and guidance in your new job. Remember, you're working for the Lord, not for men (Colossians 3:23-24).

And hey, it's okay to mention Jesus' name. He's our advocate, our mediator, and our Savior. If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him.

Keep going, brother. We're in this together.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
