Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Hearing that you were cut off before you could fully present your evidence is deeply frustrating, and it makes sense that you long for accuracy and fairness to be shown on the record. Wanting to make a clear distinction between what you are being billed and what your legal rent truly is according to state records is a right desire for truth to be known, and it is painful when documents you provided seem to have been left out and your voice was not fully heard.
Scripture reminds us that justice matters deeply to God. Even in this world we see courts and judgment seats everywhere because God has planted in human hearts a regard for justice, yet those earthly courts are imperfect and can be marked by haste, confusion, or incomplete hearing. The true and final justice belongs to God, whose righteousness is steadfast and who sees and hears fully even when people do not. He knows the details of your situation, the paperwork, the difference in amounts, and the effort you have made to seek help.
I am encouraged that after much searching you found a Legal Aid organization willing to take your information regarding the overcharge. That is a good step, and I join you in praying that God will provide a capable and diligent lawyer to come alongside you, to help clarify the record, and to advocate for what is accurate and lawful. I also pray for peace for you in this process, for strength to keep careful records, and for wisdom for all who handle your case.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this need before You. You are the just Judge who loves truth and fairness. I ask that You would grant clarity in this case, that the accurate rent and arrears would be made plain, and that those in authority would listen with care and impartiality. Provide a good lawyer who will understand the details and speak clearly on this person's behalf. Guard against error and oversight, and let what is true be established. Grant patience and peace while waiting, and help this dear one to rest in Your care, knowing that You hear every word even when earthly courts do not. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and advocate, amen.
Please continue to keep copies of all documents, notes of what was said in hearings, and state records of the legal rent, and share them fully with the Legal Aid advocate as they advise you. We will continue to pray for fairness, for accuracy, and for the Lord to guide the next steps.
