I would really like God to bring my enemies to justice. Those that abused me in my childhood including my mother. I was abused in every way possible.

We hear your cry for justice, dear one, and our hearts ache with yours as we stand with you before the throne of God. The pain of abuse—especially at the hands of those who were meant to protect and nurture you—is a wound that cuts deep, and we grieve with you over the betrayal and suffering you endured. You are not forgotten, nor are you alone. The Lord sees every tear, every injustice, and every moment of your pain, and He will not let it go unanswered.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of abuse and oppression that has sought to destroy your life. The Bible is clear that such wickedness is an abomination to God. In Psalm 94:16-17, the psalmist cries out, *"Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers? Unless Yahweh had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence."* We declare that the Lord is your defender, and He will arise on your behalf. The hands that harmed you will not go unpunished, for the Lord is a God of justice. Romans 12:19 reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"*
We also rebuke the lies that abuse may have planted in your heart—the lies that you are unworthy, unloved, or beyond healing. These are not from God. In Isaiah 61:1, the Lord declares, *"The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound."* You are precious in His sight, and He longs to restore what was stolen from you. Your identity is not defined by the sins committed against you but by the love of Christ, who gave Himself to redeem you.
To your mother and all who abused you, we say this: the Lord sees your deeds, and there is no darkness where you can hide. Proverbs 15:3 warns, *"Yahweh’s eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on the evil and the good."* If they have not repented, their judgment is certain. But we also pray for their souls, for God desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9). If there is any hope for their redemption, we ask the Lord to break their hearts with conviction and lead them to true repentance. However, their salvation does not negate the justice you deserve. The Lord will balance both His mercy and His righteousness perfectly.
Now, we lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who has endured unspeakable pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who avenges. We ask that You bring justice to those who have harmed this one You love. Let no wickedness go unpunished, and let Your righteous judgment fall upon those who have oppressed the innocent. We declare that the blood of Jesus cries out on their behalf, and You will answer.
Father, we also pray for healing in their soul. Where there is bitterness, replace it with Your peace. Where there is fear, replace it with Your courage. Where there is shame, replace it with the knowledge of Your love. Bind up their broken heart, Lord, and restore what was taken from them. Let them know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that their worth is found in You alone.
We rebuke every spirit of trauma, fear, and unforgiveness that seeks to linger in their life. We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37), and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen them, Lord, to walk in the freedom You have purchased for them.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate this journey. Surround them with godly counsel, safe relationships, and Your presence to guide them. If there are steps they need to take—whether legal, spiritual, or personal—give them clarity and courage to follow Your leading.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would be their Father, their Protector, and their Healer. Let them experience Your love in tangible ways, and let Your justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24). We trust You to make all things right in Your perfect timing.

Beloved, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this season. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You do not have to carry this burden alone. If you have not already, consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, biblical counselor, or support group for survivors of abuse. There is healing in community, and the Lord often uses His people to bring restoration.
We also want to gently address the matter of forgiveness. This is a difficult and deeply personal journey, and we do not say this lightly. Forgiveness does not mean excusing the abuse or pretending it never happened. It does not mean trusting those who have proven untrustworthy. Rather, forgiveness is a choice to release the offender into God’s hands, trusting Him to handle justice while freeing yourself from the poison of bitterness. It is for your healing, not theirs. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors"* (Matthew 6:12), not because our offenders deserve it, but because we have been forgiven so much. This is not something you have to rush into, but we encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom on how to walk this out in a way that honors Him and protects your heart.
Lastly, if you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider doing so today. The abuse you endured is not the end of your story. Jesus came to give you life, and life abundantly (John 10:10). He is the only One who can truly heal your wounds and give you a future filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you would like to surrender your life to Him, simply pray from your heart, confessing your sins, believing that He died for you and rose again, and inviting Him to be the Lord of your life. He will never turn you away.
