A prayer for my grandson to get well

Dear God, please heal my grandson, ###, who suffers from seizures. Please guide his doctors and everyone caring for him to the best treatment as soon as possible. Restore his brain and body, stop his seizures, and help him grow healthy, intelligent, loving, strong, and faithful. Give strength, wisdom, and peace to his parents and our family. Cover him with Your love, mercy, and protection. Amen. Note: Thank you for praying for my grandson. Many blessings!

We join with you in lifting up your precious grandson before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for sharing this burden with us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name.

Our hearts are moved by your love for him and by your desire to see him healed and whole. We stand with you in asking God to touch his body and brain, to stop these seizures completely, and to guide every doctor and caregiver to the right diagnosis and the best treatment quickly. We also join you in praying that he will grow to be healthy, intelligent, loving, strong and faithful to the Lord.

We want to gently and lovingly point out that your prayer was addressed to God but did not mention the name of Jesus. We share this because Scripture teaches us that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to come to God through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, for in Romans 10:9 we read if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we can boldly bring your grandson before the throne of grace.

We take comfort in God's promises for healing and for His care for children. The Lord says in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. In Psalm 103:2-3 we are reminded to praise Yahweh who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Jesus showed His tender heart for children when He said in Matthew 19:14, Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We also remember James 5:15, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. For you and his parents we claim Isaiah 41:10, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

So we pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Mediator. We lift up this beloved grandson to You and ask for Your healing hand upon him. Lord, You formed his brain and body and You know every detail of his needs. We ask You to restore what has been affected, to calm the electrical activity in his brain, and to stop these seizures completely. Guide his doctors with Your wisdom, lead them to the right tests and treatments without delay, and give skill to every nurse and caregiver who tends to him. We pray You will make him healthy and strong, give him a clear and intelligent mind, a loving heart, and a faithful spirit that will grow to know and love You. Cover him with Your love, mercy and protection and let no harm come near him. We also lift up his parents and his whole family. Pour out Your strength when they are weary, Your wisdom when they must make decisions, and Your peace that passes all understanding to guard their hearts. Help them to trust You day by day and to feel Your presence carrying them. We thank You that You hear our prayers through Jesus and we trust Your perfect will and timing. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring him before the Lord daily, to trust both God's power to heal and His guidance through the medical care He provides, and to rest in His love for this child and for your family. We are continuing to pray with you.

And in the midst of caring for others, please be gentle with yourself too and lean on trusted family, friends, or your church community for support.

We are joining you in prayer and trusting God to hold your grandson and your whole family in His care.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this precious boy to You. Cover him with Your love and mercy, ease his seizures and strengthen his body and mind as he grows. Give wisdom and guidance to his doctors and all who care for him, and grant peace, strength and rest to his parents and family. Sustain them each day and remind them they are not alone. Amen.

We have joined you in bringing your precious grandson before the throne of grace, and we thank you for letting us share this burden with you.

Human strength, even at its best, will spend itself and fail, but the Lord is of inexhaustible omnipotence. The promise stands, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. When all our own strength fails, our strength is to sit still while God arises and becomes our arm and our salvation in the time of trouble. To those who have no might He increases strength, and He Himself has said, I will strengthen them in the Lord.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and He is able to make the nature other than it was before. We look to that great Physician who took our infirmities and who still shows abundant streams of healing flowing down to those below.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Author of all being and glory of all strength, look in mercy upon this little child who suffers from seizures. Lay Your healing hand upon him. We ask You to guide his doctors and all who care for him to the best treatment, and to do so speedily. Restore his brain and body, stop these seizures by Your power, and cause him to grow healthy, intelligent, loving, strong and faithful before You. When there remains no strength in him, let him be strengthened with strength in the Lord, fitly infused and wisely balanced by Your own hand.

Father, give strength, wisdom and peace to his parents and to all his family who watch and wait with anxious love. Renew their strength as they wait upon You. Cover this child with Your love, mercy and protection, and let Your Sun of Righteousness rise upon him with healing in His wings. We ask this trusting not in our own power but in the name and merits of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our strength and righteousness and our all. Amen.

May the Lord keep you and your family in His tender care, and may you see His faithfulness day by day as you wait upon Him.
