We join you in lifting up your grandson before the Lord as he prepares for his driving test in the coming month, and we thank you for asking us to pray with you for patience, wisdom and knowledge for him.
We love that you are seeking God for him, and we want to gently encourage you that it is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father and can come boldly to His throne of grace. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are reminded there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are made right with God and our prayers are heard. We pray you and your grandson both know this precious hope.
We pray for your grandson that God would grant him a calm and clear mind as he studies and practices. We ask the Lord to give him wisdom generously as He promises in James 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We pray that wisdom would help him learn well, remember what he has been taught, and make sound decisions both on his test and every time he is behind the wheel.
We also pray for patience and peace to guard his heart from anxiety on the day of his test. In Philippians 4:6-7 we read, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We ask God to replace any nervousness with that peace and to help him rest well and be focused.
We encourage him to do his part diligently, to prepare thoroughly and to honor God with his effort, remembering Colossians 3:23, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. A driving test is not only about passing, but about becoming a safe and responsible driver who protects his own life and the lives of others. We pray for the Lord's protection over him whenever he is on the road, as Psalm 121:8 promises, Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore.
We also trust in God's perfect will, knowing Proverbs 16:9 says, A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Whether he passes on this first attempt or needs more time to grow in skill, we know God is working for his good and will direct his steps.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear grandson to You. Lord, we ask that You would grant him wisdom, knowledge, patience and understanding as he prepares for his driving test. Your prayer for your grandson has been heard and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace. We thank God for your loving care for him and we ask the Lord to grant him a calm and steady spirit as he prepares and as he takes his test in the coming month.
We pray that God will give him patience, wisdom and knowledge for this needful task, for knowledge rightly used is a good gift and it gives reasons for patience and strengthens the man, and wisdom is the compass by which we steer through life. May he be diligent to learn, attentive to instruction and kept safe under the Lord's watchful providence.
And we pray above all that he may possess that better knowledge which is above rubies, even the saving knowledge of Christ. That knowledge is the gift of God and it brings rest for the soul, for to know Christ and His cross is to know the supply for all our need. A grain of divine grace is worth more than a ton of worldly wisdom, and true wisdom is to trust in the Lord. We ask that whether in this test or in the whole journey of life, he may walk in the good way and find that rest which proves we are in the path the Lord has appointed.
May the Lord hear your cry, keep your grandson in His care, grant him clarity of mind and steadiness of hand, and give you peace as you commit him to our faithful God who gives wisdom liberally to those who ask Him. Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
