A new beginning

You are asking for what only God can give, and the very words you used are the ones He loves to answer. A new beginning. Total salvation. Forgiveness. This is not a small request; it is the definitive act of God. We do not patch up the old life. When you come to Jesus Christ, He makes all things new.

He is the one who existed before any beginning we can measure. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And when sin and death entered, He did not abandon His creation. He began a work of redemption that runs through all of Scripture. He took one man, one family, one nation, from whom would come the blessing for every nation on earth. That blessing is Jesus Christ. In Him, God has established a new covenant, a new relationship, based not on your ability to be perfect, but on His grace and His finished work on the cross.

The blood of Jesus was shed for the remission of sins. That means forgiveness is not a distant hope; it is a present, powerful reality for those who come to Him. The only thing that stands between you and the full, free forgiveness of God is your refusal to believe you can have it right now. Do not let your past sins plague your conscience, whether they seem large or small. God does not simply overlook sin; He took the judgment for it upon Himself in Christ. You can be forgiven all of it. Your life can start over from this very moment.

When God brought His people out of bondage, He told them that the month of their deliverance would become the beginning of months for them. Everything that happened in the past was counted differently after that act of salvation. In the same way, when you are born again by the Spirit of God, you become a new creation. The old has gone. You cannot blame an old temper or an old habit on who you were, because that person died with Christ. You are now a child of God, relating to Him through His Son, drawing from a new source of life.

This is why we do not put new wine into old, brittle skins. The powerful, fresh life of the Spirit will not be contained by the old religious traditions or the former patterns of behavior. God breaks in and creates a new heart. What is required is a simple, trusting faith that Jesus did everything necessary for your salvation. He lived the perfect life you could not live. He died the death you deserved. He rose again to justify you. Receive this salvation. Do not put it on a shelf for tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation. Why carry the weight of guilt for another hour when the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared, offering you a new beginning and a new family in Christ?

In this new life, you stop counting your days from the old creation and start counting from your new birth. Your family can see the reality of this transformation. The happiness you seek is not a fleeting feeling; it is the deep, abiding joy of being in a right relationship with your Creator, knowing your sins are forgiven and your eternal destiny is secure. A new heaven and a new earth are coming, where even the memory of sin will not be brought to mind. The life you live now in Christ is the first installment of that eternal future.

Pray with me now. Father, I thank You for this new beginning that You have promised. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my past and I ask for Your complete forgiveness. I receive the salvation You offer by Your grace. Make me a new creation in Christ. Fill my life and my family with Your Spirit, and let us walk in the truth of this new covenant by the power of Jesus’ blood. In His name, Amen.
