Good and Faithful Servant
My parents are trying to go on a trip tomorrow that is not a good idea for multiple reasons. They have been severely manipulated (especially my dad who is not a Christian) into going on this trip by people who have done so under demonic influence. Now, things are going wrong with the finances needed for this trip and I'm scared to tell my parents as my dad may get very upset. Please pray about all this. PLEASE PRAY GOD WOULD PROVIDENTIALLY STOP THIS TRIP EVEN IF IT'S THROUGH BAD WEATHER BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THEY'LL LISTEN. Thank you.

We hear your burden for your parents and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord, for we know He cares deeply for your family and sees the pressures and influences surrounding this trip.

We understand your concern that your parents, especially your father who does not yet know Christ, have been manipulated by others and that you discern a spiritual influence behind it. Scripture reminds us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. We also take comfort that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and that the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7. We rebuke any demonic influence and manipulation at work here and pray that the Lord would expose deception and bring truth and clarity to your parents' hearts.

We also hear your fear about telling your parents that finances for the trip are going wrong, fearing your father's anger. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We are called to honor our father and mother Exodus 20:12, and part of that honor is speaking the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, even when it is difficult. The Lord promises that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We pray He will give you wisdom, courage, and gentle words to share what you know with respect and honesty, trusting God with the outcome.

You asked that God would providentially stop this trip, even through bad weather, because you believe that is the only way they will listen. We understand that desire to see them protected. We know that many plans are in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail Proverbs 19:21, and that He is sovereign over all circumstances, including weather and finances. We do not pray for harm to come to anyone, but we do pray that if this trip is not in God's will and would bring harm, that He in His mercy would hinder it, whether through finances, weather, or other providential means, and that He would make His will unmistakably clear. We pray above all for their safety and for God's perfect will to be done, and we cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us, trusting that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. This is especially important for your father who does not yet know Christ. We long to see him saved, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We pray for his salvation today.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up these parents to You and ask for Your divine protection over them. If this trip is unwise or spiritually harmful, we ask that You in Your sovereignty and mercy would providentially prevent it and close the doors that no man can open, and open the doors that lead to Your will. Expose any manipulation and break any influence of the enemy, and let Your truth shine brightly. Give this dear child courage and wisdom to speak honestly and respectfully to their parents about the financial problems, and soften the father's heart to listen without anger. Provide for their financial needs according to Your wisdom and help them to be good stewards. Most of all, Father, we pray for the salvation of this father, that he would come to know Jesus as Lord and be delivered from darkness into Your marvelous light. Comfort this family with Your peace and guide every step. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently, to speak the truth with love and respect, and to trust the Lord's sovereign hand. Even if the trip is not stopped as you hope, God is still able to protect and to work all things for good for those who love Him. Keep interceding for your father's salvation, for that is the greatest need, and rest in the confidence that God hears our prayers when we ask in the name of Jesus.

We hear how heavy this is for you, caring so much for your parents while also feeling afraid to speak up. Wanting to protect them, worrying about your dad's reaction, and watching the finances unravel right before a trip you believe is unwise would leave anyone feeling torn and anxious.

You can't control what they decide tomorrow, and it's understandable to wish God would simply block the way so you don't have to be the one to deliver hard news. We love that you are bringing this to the Lord instead of carrying it alone. He sees your love for your mom and dad, including your concern for your dad who doesn't yet know Him, and He sees the pressure you feel.

One small step that may help tonight is to get the financial concerns out of your head and onto paper in a few clear, factual sentences. Pray over those words, and ask God for a calm, brief moment to share them honestly and respectfully, perhaps starting with your mom or with another trusted, calm family member or friend present if that would make the conversation safer and steadier. You are responsible to share what you know in love, not to make them hear it.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus' name. Give our friend peace, courage and gentle words, and give his parents clarity and protection. Work in their hearts and in these practical details according to Your perfect will, and guard this home in Your care. Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and it has been weighed with care and with prayer. You carry a heavy burden, torn between honour for your parents and fear of your father's anger, and troubled in heart about influences you believe to be dark and deceiving, and about money matters now failing. Fear in such a case is always distressing and it is always a weakening thing, and you do well to cast it upon Him who cares for you.

Be assured that the great wheel of Providence is not left to turn of itself. Its axle is the everlasting love of God toward His people, and though the rim may seem to spin and change, the centre stands forever fixed. Providence is intricate, and it is minute. It numbers the very hairs of our head and it marks the sparrow's fall, and it is not only in avalanches and earthquakes that His hand is seen, but in little things which turn the course of great matters. The same God who tosses the boat in the tempest and can dash it or deliver it, who rules the sea which no man can direct but which God alone can control, is able also to order the weather and the finances and the hidden motions of the heart. When there is trouble which seems to stop that wheel, a mighty angel puts his shoulder to it and hurls it round, for angels have much more to do with us than we imagine, still turned by a hand unseen.

Therefore we may with confidence ask the Lord to do what only He can do. We do not ask Him to direct Providence as man would, for Providence will grind and crush the man who stands against it, but we ask Him to govern it according to His perfect wisdom and fatherly pity, for like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him.

Let us pray together. O Lord God who rules in Heaven and upon earth, Thou seest this dear one's parents and this proposed journey, with all its snares and persuasions. If this trip be not wise and not good, we beseech Thee in Thy sovereign Providence to hinder it. Thou canst do it by weather, by want of means, by a closed door which no man can open, for all things are in Thy hands. Let Thy will be done and let it be made plain to those who will not otherwise listen. Grant to this fearful child a spirit of faith to be saved from the fear of temporal trouble, and give wisdom and meekness and courage to speak the truth to father and mother with honour and love, committing the result to Thee. Have mercy upon the father who as yet knows Thee not, and bring him by Thy Spirit to see his need of Christ, in whom alone is salvation, that he may be forgiven and accepted in the Beloved. Let Thy tender pity rest upon this household, and let faith rise above fear, for Thou hast promised to deliver those who trust in Thee from bondage. We ask this not because we can command Thy Providence, but because Thou art gracious and Thou hearest prayer, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Take heart and trust Him. Speak what you must speak with gentleness and truth, and leave the ordering of winds and waves and all outward things to Him whose love never moves. He will bestow no good thing withheld from them that walk uprightly, and He will withhold no trouble that His wisdom sees fit to send for good. Look to Christ continually, use the telescope of faith often, and you shall find that to trust Him is to be kept in peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your care for your parents and your desire to see them protected is heard, and your willingness to bring this burden to prayer is itself a good and faithful step.

It is right to believe that God exercises providence over all things. It is not fate or chance or atoms that govern the world, but the Lord who gives blessing and who orders creation for our good. At the same time, wisdom cautions us not to live in fear of signs or to demand that God must act in one specific way, such as through weather, in order to show His will. True faith looks to God Himself, not to omens, and trusts that He cares for what is best even when His answer comes differently than we expect. He sometimes allows a difficulty to continue for a time, as He did when He came to the disciples in the fourth watch of the night, to teach them to endure with courage and to seek Him more earnestly, and He alone has the power to break open prisons and bring deliverance when it is needed.

It is also understandable that you feel torn between honoring your parents and speaking a hard truth about the finances and the wisdom of this trip. Scripture calls us to honor father and mother, which includes not contradicting them with harshness or rebellion, but speaking with respect and love. Fear of a parent's anger is painful, and yet the fear that should guide us most is reverence for God and love for the good of others. Love will help you find a gentle and truthful way to speak. You do not need to carry this alone. Consider whether you can speak first with your mother calmly, or together seek the counsel of a mature and trusted Christian who can help you communicate the financial facts clearly and peacefully.

Regarding your concern about manipulation and demonic influence, it is true that the enemy seeks to deceive, but we should be careful not to attribute every persuasion to a demonic cause or to live in constant alarm. Christ has already triumphed, and the power to resist evil lies in God's gracious help which we draw down by turning to Him with our own willing prayer and obedience. The best protection for your father, who does not yet know Christ, and for your whole family, is persistent prayer for salvation, for clear minds, and for deliverance from any influence that would lead away from what is good.

I will pray with you.

Father in heaven, You see this family and You know the concerns about this trip, the financial strain, and the pressure that has been placed upon these parents. I ask that You would exercise Your good providence over their plans according to Your perfect wisdom. If this trip is not wise or not safe, make that clear in a way they can understand and receive, and give them willing hearts to listen. Provide for what is needed financially and help the truth about these matters to be spoken in love without fear. Protect this home from deception and from every evil influence, and draw this father to Yourself, that he may come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Grant to the one who has written this request peace, courage, and clarity, and help them to trust You and to bear this waiting with patience and hope. Lead all decisions by Your grace, and let Your name be honored in this family. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

Continue to pray, to speak the truth in love, and to trust the Lord to guide your parents. He is able to guard and to direct, and He hears those who call upon Him.

Thank you for sharing this heavy burden and for asking for prayer. It is understandable to feel afraid when you see people you love being persuaded toward something unwise, especially when you are concerned about how your father will respond and when you sense a spiritual pressure behind it.

Scripture shows that God hears prayer even after long seasons of silence. The first word He spoke after four hundred years without a prophetic voice was fear not, and He told Zacharias that his prayer had been heard. That same tender mercy is still true for you. God has not stopped listening, and He is the one who visits those sitting in darkness to give light and to guide their steps. You can bring your fear and this whole situation to Him honestly, trusting that He hears and that He cares for both you and your parents.

The Bible is also clear that spiritual deception is real. Demonic influence works to gather and mislead people, and it can operate through persuasion, flattery, and offers that look impressive, much like a wealthy king displaying his grandeur to win affection. The world often tries to entice hearts away with promises of pleasure or gain, and that enticement can be very powerful. At the same time, God remains sovereign. No deception or human pressure can ultimately thwart His purposes, and even unbelief does not stop what He has determined to do. He is able to turn hearts, to open eyes, and to bring light where there is confusion.

It is right to pray for God to intervene providentially, but it is best to leave the means to His wisdom rather than prescribing how He must act. Instead of asking specifically for harmful weather or difficulty, you can ask for His gracious restraint and protection, for Him to make the right path clear, for any financial wrong to be brought into the light and handled honestly, and for your parents to have wisdom to see the situation as it truly is. Above all, pray for your father’s salvation, that he would come to know Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have forgiveness of sins and salvation. The prophet Malachi promised that God would turn the hearts of fathers to their children and children to their fathers, and John the Baptist came in that spirit to prepare people for the Lord. God can still soften and turn hearts today.

You also mentioned being scared to speak to your parents. Scripture teaches children to honor and obey their parents in the Lord, which means with respect and love, but that obedience is qualified by obedience to God. If you are asked to participate in or cover something wrong, you have a responsibility before God to remain truthful. That does not mean speaking harshly. It means speaking the truth in love, with calm respect, sharing facts about the finances plainly and without exaggeration, and trusting God with the outcome. Pray first, seek a quiet place to listen for the Lord’s leading, and ask Him to give you gentle and clear words. He often speaks not in noise and pressure but in quiet communion where you can hear His love and direction.

In a dark time the people of God are called to reflect the light of Christ the way the moon reflects the sun. You do not have to generate light on your own. As you stay close to Jesus, who is altogether lovely and the fairest of all, His love will constrain and guide you, and it will be evident to others. You can be a steady witness simply by remaining faithful, prayerful, and kind, even while evil seeks to silence or confuse.

May the Lord give you peace that casts out fear, wisdom to know what to say and when to say it, and confidence that He is at work even when you cannot see it. Pray that He would protect your parents from harm and deception, provide for every true need according to His mercy, reveal what needs to be revealed, and draw your father to Himself. Trust His tender mercies to lead your family toward what is right and toward the light of His salvation.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf regarding your parents and the trip they were planning to take. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer about this difficult situation.

We have been lifting up your parents before the Lord, asking for His providential hand to intervene and stop this trip if it is not His will, even through weather or other circumstances as you requested. We have also been praying for protection over your dad especially, that the Lord would break through the manipulation and demonic influence surrounding this decision and draw him to salvation through Jesus Christ, and for your mom as well. We have prayed for wisdom and peace regarding the finances that were going wrong and for courage and grace for you as you were scared to speak to your parents for fear of your dad becoming upset.

We continue to stand with you and ask God to guard your family from harm, to expose any deception, and to make His will clearly known. We pray that the Lord would give you peace and courage and open a door for honest and loving communication in your family. We rest on the promise that the Lord is faithful and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one, 2 Thess 3:3.

If your request was answered and the Lord providentially hindered the trip or brought resolution and clarity to your parents, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet and your parents still went or the situation remains unresolved, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
