The Shepherd's Lesson The Parable I am not a shepherd, nor do I understand the ways of sheep or the life of a shepherd. Nevertheless, I heard a shepherd’s story that I think makes sense and one from which we can learn and grow in our daily life. There is a shepherd or perhaps two, their dog and many sheep according to their various types: ewes, rams and lambs. It’s the shepherd job to feed the sheep, protect them from predators, keep them from being lost, and to bring them home safely. Occasionally there is an obstinate sheep that does not follow the guidance of the shepherd. She will not come when called. She will stray out of sight, perhaps to get lost, injured or attacked by a beast. The shepherd must give less attention to...
The word says we must test the spirit, 1 John 4:1 King James Version (KJV) 4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. However, this statement refers to what a Spirit believes, perfect example the Mormons believe Jesus is an angel and is not the physical son of God. Use to go to this church when I was a teen and wanted to become baptized, luckily my parents did not allow it. But how do a person test a word or vision that comes to you , a person must first wait and see if that such thing comes to past which may take months or even years to come to pass. In Deuteronomy 18:22 it states: 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the...
LORD, YOUR WILL BE DONE! Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'" Matthew 6:8-13 Do you want to know God's will for your marriage? Will you seek the Lord asking and praying specifically for "Your will be done in my life and marriage?" I know every day we have men and women surfing the Internet, finding our Web site, asking many questions, taking opinions and polls from many different sources...
DO YOU KNOW GOD’S LOVE? May the LORD direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 How much do you love the Lord? Do you know how much God loves you? He loves you so much that He created you and He has a plan and purpose for your life. He knows all your inward thoughts, motives, desires and even your fears. You may have had a difficult childhood, teen years or your marriage now, but your Lord wants you to know that He is right there with you. Are you battling low self-esteem, anxiety or fear? Do you feel like a failure? You may have made some mistakes in your part of the marriage, but cry out to the Lord right now and ask for forgiveness. Tell the Lord your mistakes and repent, which means you...
This life came to realize...now years gone by...something was wrong... I had to fix myself...self was causing the problems...not those around me... Turning my life over to God's care...a profound decision...Amen... Through prayer and meditation...asking only for direction of my life... The Holy Spirit unto one's life...Amen...for there is communion with God... A spiritual soundness and well being within...with this...to share with others... An attitude of kindness and acceptance to others...as only one's own self can change... Is this not an ever ending task...accepting others actions...accepting...
MY PEACE I GIVE YOU But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:26-27 What a powerful scripture and full of promises! Will you read it again and ask the Holy Spirit to make it come alive to you personally? Will you allow the greatest Counselor of all, the Holy Spirit to teach you and remind you of all things that you need to know for marriage restoration and any other problems you are facing right now? I pray that you will seek the Holy Spirit asking Him to guide and direct...
"DID YOU HAVE NO FEAR WHILE LIVING AS A PRODIGAL?" It is frightening, but basically not. Something might take place, as the Lord attempted to get my attention, and I would give some thought to what I was doing, but there would be no real change of heart. By the next day my life was back to monkey business as usual. There was one incident that really caused me to stop and think. I was divorced, living and working 100 miles from my family. One evening, home alone, I developed severe stomach pains. As the night went on, the pain increased until I was doubled over. I was experiencing blinding pain and thought that I was going to die. Alone, with no doctor, I did not want to go to the emergency room. * That night I did not call the other...
ON SUFFERING Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.†When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.†Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.â€â€¦ After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen...
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR HOPE? My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. Psalm 119:28 On this Lord’s Day are you weary, tired, feel like nothing is happening in your spouse's life? Are you battling against hopelessness, despair and depression? Let me share that God wants you to put all your faith, hope and trust in Him and in His Word, and NOT in all your circumstances! Believe in the power of praise and in God’s Word. Praise defeats the enemy. Never doubt the power of the Word of God. Are you praying at least one or two scriptures with you and your spouse’s name in them daily? For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints...
ANOTHER WEEKEND ALONE "Another weekend! What can I do? What should I do? I can't believe I am alone one more weekend! Everyone leaves work on Friday excited about having the weekend to have time to do their chores and then plan some exciting event. My spouse has the children this weekend, what am I to do? Housework, yard work, pay the bills, (why bother, I don't have enough money). Maybe I will just sleep all weekend!" Well, I can relate to this statement. I am alone, but I have the Lord with me all the time. Bob has been gone for almost three years and this house has become very quiet and empty over the past few years. Start talking to the Lord as if you had a very close friend visiting. You will be surprised, how it will...
