MAKE IT OR BREAK IT And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose . . . What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:28, 31 You might have read about our multiple separations prior to our divorce. We had a rocky marriage, almost from the honeymoon. From all of those years of our human attempts at working on our marriage, no period turned out to be make it or break it like Christmas week just before our divorce. This week there was a plane crash in Miami, killing all 20 people aboard that flight. Within hours of that tragedy, reporters were interviewing a woman who had taken that same flight over 50 times...
Yesterday I was feeling alone and missing having a family and not many people understand me. The Lord is my passion and my heart and serving Him is all I desire for it is HIM who has stuck by me and comforted my heart; He has never left me nor forsaken me. This time of year is hard for me, my youngest son was killed 13 years ago on November 27th, he was buried on December 3rd and his birthday is on December 9th. Two years after my son died on December 26th my mom died and three years after that my dad died on December 21st. My husband and I are divorced, not by any desire on my part but more of a need due to his determined state to live by the world’s standards and not allow God to heal his heart. He had been saved but at our son’s...
```html GOD OF SURPRISES "But if it were I, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before him. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.†Job 5:8-9 When they were growing up, one of my children’s favorite Christmas traditions was exploring their stockings. This is where I always hid the “surprise.” The one thing they had not asked for but I knew was perfect for them. It might be something small, like a new pair of their favorite character pajamas. Or something a little bigger, like a gift card for that new video game. The gifts changed over the years but the tradition never did. They always headed for the stocking first, eager to see what new surprise I had for them. The tradition was just as...
```html ARE YOU SEEKING THE PRINCE OF PEACE? For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 Are you seeking the Prince of Peace every day as you pray for restoration of your marriage? Do you have peace in your family right now? My prayer for you this Lord's Day and the last few days before Christmas is that you will seek to have God's peace in your home and with your family as you prepare your heart and home for Christmas. This Christmas believe that you can start to have "peace on earth" because the Prince of Peace, Jesus, was born on Christmas. Do you know Jesus Christ as the Prince of...
(Daniel 10:12-13) “Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, ###. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.†Traffic jams, we all hate them! When we are on the road to a destination we just want to get there and do not want to be held up. We are like that in our prayer life; we pray and when it takes too long we start to get fearful that maybe our prayers will not get answered. The Lord says to believe and keep on believing and our prayers...
THE NATIVITY SETS And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Luke 2:8-12 I love celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus. After ### returned home, I started collecting Nativity sets. I have one on my mantle in the center that is a Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus in ceramic gold with many...
```markdown THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS Do you know the many Names of your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? I have a book that lists hundreds of Names of our Lord Jesus Christ that are throughout the Bible, and it also gives the scripture references. There is such power when you read the Names of our Lord Jesus out loud, which can heal your hurting heart. Your faith will start to grow and you suddenly realize who you are in Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was born in Bethlehem to become our Savior and Lord. I know that you can walk in victory and live a victorious Christian life as a husband/wife or father/mother when you are willing to surrender your life and marriage to the Holy Spirit and the greatest Counselor. My...
THE SHEPARDS WENT TO SEEK THE LORD "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Luke 19:10b Have you been able to attend a church musical this year? This year I gave one of my Christmas gifts early to my three children and their families as we all attended the well-known ### Christmas Pageant. They have a large volunteer cast doing drama with many choirs of all ages. The Christmas pageant is a very large theatrical production, which started 30 years ago and has been on TBN several times. I had many memories as ### and I had our own children in the pageant many years ago. Now they are taking their own children to see a two and half hour pageant with Christmas carols, many songs with many different scene sets, drama...
LORD, I'M COMING HOME! "Lord, may you touch, change and soften my spouse's heart. May my husband/wife confess their sins, repent and turn from their sinful ways as they come to their senses. Lord, send them home for Christmas, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen." Is this not your prayer as we pray for thousands of husbands, wives and prodigal children to come to their senses and come home for Christmas? Will you start or continue to pray fervently for the next 10 days? Why? Because many people will be invited to different church musicals, children's musicals, church pageants and many other special Christmas activities at many different churches in each city around the world proclaiming the Gospel. This is an excellent time to invite...
