LORD, FREE MY SPOUSE FROM THEIR SIN In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Romans 6:11-12 When we hear of marriage problems or a divorce is pending, a stander will often send us their beautiful wedding picture. No one would have thought that this couple would have ended up divorced. What happened? Many couples did not know the Lord at the beginning of their marriage or during their marriage one or both spouses left God out their marriage. Some couples started their marriage by falling into temptation with their flesh and the enemy had a foothold into their marriage. You or your spouse may have been tempted...
What is self-discipline? The Collins dictionary defines it as "the act of disciplining or power to discipline one's own feelings, desires, etc., esp with the intention of improving oneself". It has also been defined as "Training and control of oneself and one's conduct, usually for personal improvement." It is important to state from the outset that no amount of self-discipline or self-denial on our parts can ever atone for any of our sins or moral failures. We can never "earn our way" to righteousness. Once you've blown it, you've blown it – and it takes the miraculous power of the blood of Jesus Christ itself to restore us to a place of righteousness with God. Those who suffer in the cause of Christ should never deceive themselves...
There are beautiful buildings and cathedrals, humble adobe missions and huts that have on them the name "Church." They have steeples and crosses, bells and towers that have their own way of announcing to passers-by, "This is a church." These man-made structures are churches in one sense of the word, but the church spoken of in the New Testament is something more. The church in its larger sense is made up of all believers. It is called the Body of Christ. God dwells among these believers by His Spirit. We have studied about the Holy Spirit and some of His function, but one of the functions we did not mention is that He unites the church. Ephesians 4:3 says. "Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of the peace...
John Maxwell writes in his book, Partners in Prayer; "In the summer of 1876, grasshoppers nearly destroyed the crops in Minnesota. So in the spring of 1877, farmers were worried. They believed that the dreadful plague would once again visit them and again destroy the rich wheat crop, bringing ruin to thousands of people. The situation was so serious that Governor John S. Pillsbury proclaimed April 26 as a day of prayer and fasting He urged every man, woman and child to ask God to prevent the terrible scourge. On that April day all schools, shops, stores and offices were closed. There was a reverent, quite hush over all the state. The next day dawned bright and clear. Temperature soared to what they ordinary were in midsummer...
I had posted this in response to someone asking how to forgive the OP and it got into a debate about the scriptures. I thought i would share with all. Hope it helps someone. The bible tells us in Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Forgiveness has nothing to do with the other person. Not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick. When we hold on to something it hurts our whole body spiritually, mentally and physically so why hold on to it. Give it up and remember it is God who they have to repent to not us. Repentance is between God and...
"ONE by ONE by ONE...let them know of the Eternal Holy Spirit within"... it is said, for there are many that KNOW not of the Divine Spirit of God... it is said, know the difference between words and writings of the 'World'... let them know 'Omnipotent'...*All Powerful* ...the Holy Spirit shall come upon them... 'Omnipresent'...*All Places At Once*...where shall they go from the Spirit, for the Spirit is ever present. 'Omniscient'...*All Knowing*...but God has revealed unto them by His Spirit, ( 1 Corinthians 2:10 )... ONE by ONE by ONE...let them come to know TRUTH...( Luke 3:22 )...unto All... The Holy Spirit unto one's own self...this too is known to be..."AMEN"...... I AM YOU...YOU ARE I..........
Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. - 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 The apostle Paul wrote these verses in Corinthian not as a commandment but as guidelines so that we could have a better understanding of our commitment to each as husband and wife. Fully understanding what these verses mean could have a significant...
I have been here think a lot over the last few days about how we live as Christians. Most of us are so busy trying not to "sin" that we are not living at all. We remember the Ten Commandments and add so many more by our narrow interpretation that it feels that we are not allowed to do anything. We totally forget John 3:86 "who the Son has set free is free indeedâ€. What does this mean to you personally? To me it means we are free. We are free to live, we are free from condemnation. Just because we made a bad choice does not mean we have sinned. We are so sin-conscious that we do not see God. We are so busy fighting and resisting the devil we don't see God. God is all around us. We are searching for Satan instead of God. We are...
I have posted this blog before but was rereading it today and really felt led to re post it. I believe SOMEONE on our sight might just need to hear this one! God Bless You! Be strong in The Lord and in His Mighty Power! Theresa aka Scroggymommy5 18 SIGNS THAT SOMETHING IS HAPPENING! For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 During my prodigal days, while we were divorced, I heard a pastor make a sermon statement that has stuck with me to this day: “If you were able to see the spiritual battle that is taking place all around you, it would scare you to death.†My...
GOD’S WORD WILL ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE DESIRES “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,†declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.†Isaiah 55:8-11 Do you believe that God’s Word will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it? If you would...
