Complaining

Hello everyone, I hope all is going well in your stand and faith. I am sorry I have not been writing as much as I used to, as I am working on a book about persevering through trials. I am in hopes to finish soon as my life is in no shortage of trials lately, as I am sure others can relate to my struggle.

Recently, I have been seeing a lot of complaints about what people are going through. Even I am guilty of this. It got me thinking, as I seem to do a lot of lately, and decided to look up in God's word what He says about complaining. Sure enough, God is against it.

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without grumbling or questioning,

1 Corinthians 10:10 Nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer.

We often sit and focus on what we are going through, we forget to see what God has done. As it says in 1 Corinthians, the destroyer (Satan) can destroy us when we do this. We need to open our eyes and start thanking God for what He has done in our lives, knowing that He is and always has been faithful to us. If you don't see breakthrough in your life, then this is the problem you are suffering from now. Step back and look at what God has done. How have you changed in your attitude? How much closer are you to God now than when you started your stand? God always starts changes in you before He changes others or answers prayers. There is a reason for trials to come into our lives; it's not just something hard we have to do, but it's something that changes us for the good.

Think about the story of the Israelites wandering through the desert for forty years. They did so because they couldn't stop complaining. Instead of being thankful that God saved them from slavery, they complained about wandering in the desert for so long. Even though God blessed them daily with manna from heaven and water from rocks, they still complained because they were basically homeless. How familiar does this sound to us? We are no longer with our spouses, which was our home, so now we are homeless, and since we were forced to step out of our comfort level (wander through the desert) before we reach the promised land, we start complaining. Exodus 16:8 And Moses said, "When the Lord gives you in the evening meat to eat and in the morning bread to the full, because the Lord has heard your grumbling that you grumble against him—what are we? Your grumbling is not against us but against the Lord."

When we complain about what we are going through, we complain about God's works.

I just need to say stop it. We need to be thankful God has done this or allowed this to happen because He is building something in us that is going to be absolutely beautiful. Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Also, we need to stop comparing ourselves to others by saying be thankful you're not going through what I am, mine is worse, or yours is worse. For one, we have no idea exactly what the other person is feeling, so we need to be comforting and listen to them, and as it says in 1 Peter 5:9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. We need to see that the same enemy is attacking other Christians who are standing for their marriages, and we need to pray just as hard for their marriages as ours because once we are joined as one in Christ, the enemy has to flee. You have heard of divide and conquer? Well, the enemy is doing that filling our heads with thoughts saying "I am the only one suffering this badly, No one can understand what I am going through." These thoughts are a direct attack from the enemy to pull us away from others instead of standing strong with them.

Be thankful you are not alone and that God loves you enough to bring you out of your comfort zone so you can change and become strong in Him, and remember you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. Philippians 4:13, and just think how strong you will be in the spirit when your marriage is restored.

Stop complaining and start thanking.

Thank you and God bless.

Thank you. I have been doing and want to fast from complaining permanently, but I know it will be baby steps. Thank you Lord for your touching us and teaching us when we need it. Praise your name. Amen.

I praise God with you that you have been able to stop complaining, and also that you feel called to share your testimony and Christian skills with others by writing a book. I pray that this ministry is successful for you and beneficial for other Christians to read. I also pray for your protection against pride, because many I know that overcame negativity became taken over by pride without realizing they were coming across as condescending and vain. Blessings.
