Passion & Purity I found an interesting article of how coal turns into a diamond on buzzle.com; I hope you find it as interesting as I did. I will make a clear point at the end, it is truly fascinating. Thanks to Sonia Nair for contributing to this chapter. “It is difficult to believe that any relation exists between the dark brownish-black lumps of coal and shimmering diamonds. The common element (*1) between the two is that they both are made up of carbon. The element carbon exists in the earth in three different forms. One is the amorphous form (*2), which lacks the crystal structure. Another form of carbon, termed as graphite (*2), has hexagonal crystals. Diamonds are the third form of carbon and these glittering gemstones...
Have you ever been in the middle of a faith stand, when suddenly it seemed like your faith just quit working? Maybe you were believing God for healing, or financial deliverance, or the salvation of your family. Spiritually, everything was in place. You found the scriptures that promised you what you need. You were firing off confessions of faith like a machine gun. But as time went by, your spiritual battery began to weaken. The power you had when you first took your stand began to wane, and you developed a gnawing suspicion that nothing would happen. In desperation, you tried to shove those doubts away by confessing louder and longer. You frantically tried to force your faith to work. But to no avail. You wound up still sick...
This story will move you. Neil Orchard was talking with a farmer about his soy bean and corn crops. Rain had been abundant, and the results were evident. So his comment surprised him: "My crops are especially vulnerable. Even a short drought could have a devastating effect." "Why?" Orchard asked. He explained that while we see the frequent rains as a benefit, during that time the plants are not required to push roots deeper in search of water. The roots remain near the surface. A drought would find the plants unprepared and quickly kill them. Some Christians receive abundant "rains" of worship, fellowship, and teaching. Yet when stress enters their lives, many suddenly abandon God or think of Him as unfaithful. Their...
It is important to understand that God knows how to bring you out of trouble. There is nothing God doesn’t know how to handle. Psalms 34 outlines eight steps to follow to come out of trouble. 1. The first thing to do is pray. Verse four begins, “I sought the Lord.†Your part is to pray and invite Him into your life. 2. You must trust God. “Blessed is the man who trusts in Him†(Psalms 34:8). Put the whole balance of your life, your security, in the Lord. Rely on the character, strength and ability of God to deliver you. Fear and unbelief, which are a lack of trust in God, will hinder or stop you from receiving God’s help. 3. Fear the Lord. This does not mean to be afraid of Him, but to give Him honor and respect. Take...
God's Word, The Holy Bible gives us knowledge of God. What a treasure a Bible is and so many people take it for granted. If they knew God they would not take His word so lightly, their Bible would not be gathering dust on the shelf. It is the most precious thing we own. It is a priceless treasure of Wisdom, knowledge, and revelations of knowing God, indeed it is the written form of God. Jesus says, (John 6:63 NKJV) "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. Jesus is the Word so the Bible is Jesus revealed unto us. (John 1:1 NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Holy Bible is God in written form. The...
Recently a Christian friend of mine who is a computer expert of sorts told me that he thinks playing the lotto is no big deal. According to him, its simply playing the odds as a computer generates a random number and this determines the winner. He thinks gambling like this is a sport, but like everything else, must come under the principle of moderation in scripture, and should be mastered (you should not allow yourself to become the servant of it). I admire his liberty where this is concerned, and tend to agree with his reasoning to a point. But does the scripture say anything definitive on this issue? response Let's look at lotteries from a Biblical basis. The Lord is absolutely sovereign over everything in the Universe at all times...
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TODAY? “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,†he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.†Acts 9:5(b) I left our church when we separated for the final time and started attending a church with a large (forgive me, Lord) singles' ministry. Although we were months away from divorce, I was also soon attending divorce recovery. No one told me that I was being sinful, not single, in my lifestyle. Charlyne would send messages about upcoming events for our children at our home church. My standard answer was that I would “never darken the door†of that church again. I remarried Charlyne with the stipulation that we find another church. We were remarried on Wednesday. After...
Answer: Some people have found that using Bible verses in their prayers is an effective way to pray. “Praying Scripture back to God†seems to help to focus the mind and to assure that the subject matter of the prayer is pleasing to God. James 5:16 says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much†(KJV). First John 5:15–16 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.†The word effectual means “sufficient to produce a desired result.†Fervent means “constant, strenuous, and intense.†James and John are both telling us that for our...

One may ask, Oh my God...why must it hurt so? This is said to be... My child, you speak to me with words, because that is how you have learned to speak, but I speak to you with Feelings, Feelings that you can Recognize. Sometimes I speak to you with Joy, and Feelings of Love, Peace, Serenity, and of Comfort and a knowingness about yourself. These Feelings are those I would have for you to have, as you follow My Path, which I have set before you.....There are times, however, when you set out on a path on your own, A path that you need to travel.....But in a path that is not My Path, beware of the the dangers. It is in those times one may know Pain, feelings of Aloneness, Despair, and Agony, for there one will understand they have...
