Be open to advice Thursday 6th September 2018 'The wise listen to advice.' Proverbs 12:15 NIV Sometimes we think we don't need anyone else's advice. But that's not the case. The Bible says that, 'the wise listen to advice' (Proverbs 12:15 NIV) and that we should 'listen to advice and accept discipline' (Proverbs 19:20 NIV). God often uses others to guide us and encourage us to go a certain way. But, not everyone will be giving us the right advice: it may be given out of self-interest or from ignorance. We need to be discerning. 'The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps' (Proverbs 14:15 NIV). Galatians 5:1 CEV There are many things in life that can make us feel like we're stuck in chains: from the way we think about ourselves, to huge life-controlling issues such as anxiety and depression. We are living in the last days and people are so afraid of the future that is coming to earth. The planet is warming up and up and no one is stopping it. Floods everywhere. Earthquakes coming to every nation on earth. Famine starting to rise. The love for God is fading away. Sin and evil keep rising up. Fear and trembling of heart has come. There is a time of every activity under heaven. A time to live and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to tear them apart and a time to build up. Second Timothy tells us of some obnoxious last day traits. Also, the Bible speaks about the meek, and not the arrogant, will inherit the Earth. But I don't see arrogance mentioned by name in 2 Timothy, as a specific last day trait. The closest I see is "lovers of self." Talking about people I've come into contact with, {have you?} that, maybe they do something selfish like cut you off, or jump the line, if you don't just take it like a masochist, they give you an arrogant reaction or reply, like, they're the one that counts, and you're nothing to them, so the H__ll with you.
