Take action (3) Sunday 4th November 2018 'Train yourself to live a godly life.' 1 Timothy 4:7 GWT When writing to the church in Laodicea, John was instructed by Jesus to say: 'You are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot' (Revelation 3:15 GWT). These words can apply to us too. We can become lukewarm in our faith and passion for God and our spiritual life can become mundane and stationary. That's not how God wants us to be; he wants us to be growing in faith and moving forwards. The Bible says: 'Train yourself to live a godly life. Training the body helps a little, but godly living... has the promise of life now and in the world to come' (1 Timothy 4:7-8 GWT). Just as athletes need to keep training to stay physically...
Take action (1) Friday 2nd November 2018 'Shamgar son of Anath rescued Israel. He once killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad.' Judges 3:31 NLT When's the last time we felt God asking us to do something but we decided against it because we were faced with fear, feelings of inadequacy, doubt or a reluctance to make changes. When God stirs our spirit or moves our hearts, we cannot just sit back and do nothing. We've got to step up and step in. When we do, it can become a defining moment in our lives. Moses didn't believe God had chosen the right person to free the Israelites from slavery. He said to God: 'I am not a good speaker. The king will not listen to me' (Exodus 6:30 NCV). And Shamgar was able to save Israel from the...
The longer you praise the Lord, the longer you shall find happiness, joy and peace. But when our days on earth is coming to a close we should do this.... And on that day when my strenght is failing, the end draws near and my time has come.... Still my soul will sing Your praise unending. Ten thousand years and forever more. The longer we live and enjoy Gods holy presence in our life, the longer our hearts desire is to praise, honor and glorify His holy name. As for me I will bless the Lord all the days of my life. He has healed me from cancer to make sure I give Him all the honor, all the glory and all the praise. Great in kindness and good to all who fear His holy name. His righteousness is all over the place. I will...
Someone because of their looks or what they are wearting? Maybe their clothes you like, or the jewelry or their hair do? Probably their car or truck is nice and you would love to have it. Or the money in the bank. Milllions of dollars they got. A nice house or condo where he or she lives. May be you love yourself for your accomplishments. PhD. Doctoral degree and everything you wanted you got it. Everything shall end when we die. What shall we take to eternity? As for me and my house... I shall love the Lord with all of my heart, mind and soul. Till He calls me home to heaven.
Once and for all Thursday 1st November 2018 'He offered himself once and for all.' Hebrews 9:26 CEV Throughout the Old Testament, we see sacrifices being made by the high priests to atone for the sins of the people. But when Jesus died, he made atonement once and for all, which means we are forgiven for good. The Bible says: 'The high priest enters the Most Holy Place once every year with blood that is not his own. But Christ did not offer himself many times. Then he would have had to suffer many times since the world was made. But Christ came only once and for all time at just the right time to take away all sin by sacrificing himself' (Hebrews 9:25-26 NCV). This one act means that our past, current and future sin has been...
