As the pandemic continues to grow, people are losing their jobs and there is no help in sight. No money to pay the rent. Nothing to eat unless you have saved some money. Companies are closing down and some are going bankrupt. Change in our life is always difficult in our life, but it can be managed with prayer. In Bible times there were famines and plagues coming to them. People like Ruth's mother-in-law Naomi lost everything. She trusted the Lord. Believed with all her heart that anything that happens in our life is for His purpose and for His glory. Stay aware of the power of your choices when trouble comes along. Ask for wisdom from heaven. Jesus can supply your needs. He can heal your sick body and come with blessings on your life...
Once the world gets on something. {both individuals and the media, "media" meaning on the computer, newspapers, too.} once they get to something, it's not long before they're cramming it down everyone's throat by constant repetition about how great the thing is. One of these things I've been hearing, is that pot is like a "magic cure-all" for everything under the sun. Every time I finish reading about it "cures" something that was thought to be uncurable, it's not long before I see another article that it "instantly, magically" cures some other "uncurable" thing. But the thing is this--since "the world" is usually not in tune with God {"The natural mind is enmity against God"} and the devil's job is to take people's mind off of God...
I just watched the Movie I Still Believe and I am so moved by ###'s story. If you have not seen the Movie I highly recommend it. I see ### in a different light where he Loved this young Woman so much that he put everything on hold to be with her. I heard ###'s song I still Believe But until now I did'nt know his story and Now I hear the Lyrics again and I now understand the meaning. I Still Believe ### Scattered words and empty thoughts Seem to pour from my heart I've never felt so torn before Seems I don't know where to start But it's now that I feel Your grace falls like rain From every fingertip, washing away my pain I still believe in Your faithfulness I still believe in Your truth I still believe in Your holy word...
A lot of Christians only like the "positive" parts of Scripture, and therefore invent their own God according to their estimation, rather than God's -- beware of people who want to give you a sugar pill version of what Jesus taught. They probably gave up on reading the entire Bible years ago because they came across the hard teachings of The Bible and leaned on their own understanding rather than trusting in the Lord whose ways are perfect. "Did God really say...?" was the devil's first attack to get people to deny that God really means exactly what He says (Genesis 3:1). There is no reason for the devil to change his methodology, since it works to deceive countless millions. Praying for us all to have discernment (Phil 1:9-11). ...
One thing I'm hearing of more and more is {mostly "celebrities" but I've heard of it amongst others, too}...is someone gets married, a year or two later, over something minor, gets divorced, then gets married again, divorced again, and over time, say, the person is married like 3 or 4 times over a period of years. Now, according to Biblical standards, isn't marriage to be to one person {the original one} and ONE divorce is not approved of, let alone many, at your whims, over a minor thing, and remarrying several times? Yet nowadays this is considered "normal." But then, I figured out that one "root sin" causes others. I think the problem behind why they do this is unbelief. Since they don't believe in God's Word {or create their own...
Looking around at different people, including and maybe especially people we know, we see some we can say are Christians {based on the loyalty to, and defending of, God, their belief in His salvation plan, etc.}{And following it, not just saying it.} Others, unless they have a last-minute deathbed confession, even when "on the way out" {dying}, up till the last minute they sing the praises of the devils' religions that they've always followed. These {both ways} are the pretty "obvious" cases, and barring anything we don't see, are, we are likely to be right about their spiritual state. But then there are the not so "obvious" ones, the "borderline" "could go either way" "gray area" ones, the "on the fence" ones, who, to me, are harder to...
I began this assignment a few years ago by reminding myself of God's good grace to his servants through the following scripture: Psalm 34: 19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, BUT THE LORD delivers them out of them all." And so it has been. Even so, as I embark upon the next phase, the devil is busier than ever in his attempts to prevent me from reaching my personal 1,335 days in this, the exiled part of my assignment. Yet, because I count suffering as a form of fasting, I simply wash my face, and comb my hair, for the Lord will contend with my enemies. As for me, I will continue to bless those who persecute me. As I stand at the banks of Jordan, I am reminded of God's call to endure. I don't know what barriers lurk in...
