“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1 The sensation of thirst seems rather straightforward. Our mouths and throats get dry from talking or exercise, and we simply throw cold liquid down the hatch. Presto, we’re not thirsty anymore. The body, however, thinks of thirst in a much different way. Most internal organs have sensory nerves that monitor the level of water in their environment and signal changes to the brain. The hypothalamus is the region of the brain primarily responsible for monitoring the signals, sensing an increased concentration of salt in the bloodstream. Our soul experiences its own kind of thirst...
Feelings can be fickle and aren't always accurate. Are your feelings lining up with what is true or are your feelings having a field day with your mind. The enemy likes to sneak into any cracks you have with your emotional state and put thoughts in your head. Then you keep replaying those thoughts over and over and it starts to build and grow into something that seems enormous and more than likely none of it is true. I call this the snowball effect. You start with a thought and you are on a snowy hill, as the thought (snowball) starts off it is small. As you dwell on it, it keeps rolling and getting bigger and bigger, it starts picking up momentum and by the time it is at the bottom of the hill, it is a huge boulder...
Pêople are telling us this pandemic will last for a year or two or even more. No one has found a cure yet and will take a long time to do so. While others are saying, o yes, we found the cure and it will be ready. It has been more than seven months and no one has found a vaccine to cure us from this contagious and horrible desease that destroys your lungs once you get it. Then, whom should we trust? Whom should we call? 1. Call on the Lord who is worthy of praise. 2. Bless the Lord all the days of your life till He calls you home to heaven. 3. Men and women of the world who rejected the Lord and refuse to come to Him will be saved once they start believing and trusting in Jesus. 4. If you and I cannot trust the Lord...
When a person is dying, and say a close relative is coming in from out of town, sometimes the person stays alive until the relative gets there, and maybe even wakes up from unconiousness , opens their eyes to see the relative, which prompts the unsaved relative to say, "She stayed alive just long enough so that their loved one could say their goodbyes."And I've heard them say things like ,"They 'willed themselves' to stay alive until everyone left, then they died."But I have a problem with that. While human determination can give you some more "oomph" to do certain things, where life and death are concerned, doesn't the Bible state, our days are "numbered".And at times in the Bible, we read that God changed the lifespan."MY{Gods}spirit...
The term "vindicate" means "to show or prove right, reasonable or justified". There are times in our lives where we need to be vindicated but we need to make sure that integrity is our foundation first. There were times in my life I wanted so badly to take matters into my own hands. Going through my divorce really tested my faith but I needed to keep God at the forefront and allow Him to be my vindicator in that situation. My ex-husband cheated on me and left us for another woman. I had no money, no job and no where to go. My parents lived too far away for me to stay with them. I had been a stay at home Mom for years and was out of the workforce for a long time. My ex lied like a cheap rug to everyone...
This has helped me about questions on Forgiveness:
This has helped me about questions on Forgiveness, as Christians, since we have been dealing with Repeated Offenders: Please keep us in Prayers 🙏 "How does forgiveness help you? What is forgiveness? ... Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you. (Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or excusing the harm done to you or making up with the person who caused the harm. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.) https://www.mayoclinic.org › in-depth Forgiveness: Letting go of grudges and bitterness - Mayo Clinic More results Does forgiveness mean reconciliation? People often confuse forgiveness with reconciliation, as if they were the same thing. They...
As a believer in Christ, we are in a war - a spiritual war. The battle is very real. We are called to fight. We are soldiers for Christ! We can stand firm and take up our position with the weapons God has given us or we can retreat and hide among the unbelievers and let everyone else do the work. The devil is our enemy - not flesh and blood. The devil uses people to accomplish his purpose. His tactics are predicable and his schemes unrelenting. Do you have the faith and courage and devotion to be the soldier Christ calls us to be? So how do you prepare to fight? Well as a soldier you need to be well trained in all aspects of fighting. One must know the enemy, his devices, his strength and his purposes. The...
Something strange is going on around our condominium. People do not come out anymore. They are scared to say hellow, come out only to buy food and medicine. They do not gather around and the ball room is empty and unused. We always felt secure withing our limits but now everything is turning against us. Even our hands has become our enemy. We can touch something and the virus will be there. We must clean up and sanitize everything we touch. This virus could destroy our lungs and make our life so miserable. Nothing we have brought to this world and nothing we will be able to take to heaven. Trust Jesus with all your heart. He alone can take away all fear, all trembling will go away from you when you turn...
