Have you ever driven on 'mountainous switchback' with crazy hairpin turns roadways? Emphasis on mountainous. Well I have not. I am inexperienced in those type of driving courses. Hairpin turns is a bend in a road with a very tight turn, making it necessary for drivers to negotiate a hard turn of about 180° to continue onward. As the name suggests, it resembles the shape of a hairpin. Switchbacks are zigzag roads, for climbing (or descending) a steep hill or mountain. It also incorporates hairpin turns at each level. In many secluded areas these switchbacks are challenging if not treacherous. Perhaps it's less like I heard a "First Lady" describe it as "looking like a chicken with its head cut off;" and more like Paul, who being yielded, so eloquently defined it as "being made a spectacle before the whole world; both angels and men."
