We stand with you in this battle against the bondage of alcohol, knowing that the Lord is your strength and deliverer. The Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:12, *"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything."* This addiction has taken mastery over you, but we declare in Jesus’ name that its power is broken! You are not defined by this struggle, but by the victory Christ has already won for you.
The Word also warns in Proverbs 20:1, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* Yet there is hope, for Jesus said in John 8:36, *"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."* Freedom is yours through repentance and surrender to Him.
We also urge you to seek godly accountability—whether through a trusted brother or sister in Christ, a biblical support group, or pastoral counsel. James 5:16 reminds us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, broken by the chains of alcohol but clinging to Your promise of freedom. Lord, break the power of this addiction by Your Spirit. Renew their mind, restore their strength, and fill the void in their soul with Your presence. Give them the courage to walk away from temptation and the wisdom to avoid the places and people that lead them astray. Surround them with godly support, and let them experience Your healing power in every area of their life. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, for You have called them to liberty in Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray—**Amen.**
Stand firm, dear one. The battle is fierce, but the Lord is with you. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* (1 Corinthians 10:13). Walk in that escape today. You are not alone—we are praying with you.
