We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with alcohol addiction that your son is facing. We want to remind you that God is able to deliver him from this bondage.
Let us remember what God's Word says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Also, in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this beloved son who is struggling with alcohol addiction. We know, Lord, that this is a bondage that only You can break. We pray for Your deliverance, for Your comfort, and for Your strength to be upon him.
We rebuke this addiction and any strongholds in his life in Jesus name.
Father, we also pray for his faith. You are the only way to salvation and if he does not know you, may you call him and pursue him.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who sets the captives free. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your son and trusting in the Lord's power to deliver him. Also, consider seeking godly counsel and support from your local church or Christian community. It is important to have people you can trust, pray, and share with.
Remember Galatians 6:2 WEB: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Let's continue to pray for your son and the entire family as this is a family problem.
Be mindful of this: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 WEB: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."
All of us have a past. It is the future that matters.
