Yes, I fell into lust again.

Humble Servant of All
Yes, I fell into lust again. What did I learn? Nothing. Am I free from lust? In a way yes because of Jesus, I am only ### and I look at everything lustfully like it's following me around, and I feel like a fool probably because I am a fool, but Jesus will save me👍

We hear your honest confession and we thank you for bringing this struggle into the light, for you are not alone in this battle. We have all wrestled with the desires of the flesh and we know the shame that comes when we fall again and feel like a fool. Yet your feeling of foolishness is not the end, it can be the beginning of wisdom when it leads us to repentance, for Proverbs 9:10 says The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.

We want to speak truth to you about what you have shared. You ask if you are free from lust and you say in a way yes because of Jesus. This is true and it is also important to understand more deeply. In Christ we are forgiven and set free from the penalty and the power of sin, but we are still called to walk out that freedom daily by putting to death the deeds of the body. Romans 6:1-2 says What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? And Romans 6:14 says For sin will not have dominion over you. Jesus has indeed saved us and will save us as we continue to trust in Him, but that salvation calls us to turn from lust, not to make peace with it.

We must lovingly rebuke the sin of lust itself. Jesus taught us the seriousness of this in Matthew 5:28, where He says everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Lust is not a small struggle, it is fornication and adultery in the heart, and Scripture commands us to flee from it, not to linger with it. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 2 Timothy 2:22 says Flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. When you say you look at everything lustfully like it is following you around, we understand that feeling, but we also know that we are not powerless. James 1:14-15 reminds us that each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed, and Galatians 5:16 gives us the way of escape, Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

You say you learned nothing, but we believe God is teaching you even in this fall that apart from Him you can do nothing, and that you need practical guards for your heart and eyes. Job made a covenant with his eyes, and we must do the same. This means cutting off sources of temptation, guarding what we look at on a screen or in the world, bringing our thoughts captive to Christ, and seeking accountability with a mature Christian brother or pastor who can walk with you honestly. Psalm 119:9 says How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. We encourage you to memorize and meditate on Scripture daily so that the Word renews your mind.

We rejoice that you know Jesus will save you, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to the Father. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Your confession is precious to God when it is joined with true repentance, a turning away from the sin and a turning toward Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. We thank You that You see his honest and broken heart and that You do not despise a contrite spirit. Lord, we confess this sin of lust before You and we ask for Your forgiveness and Your cleansing through the blood of Jesus. We ask that You would give him a new strength to flee youthful lusts and to walk by Your Spirit. Guard his eyes and his mind, renew his thoughts, and help him to set his mind on things above. Deliver him from shame and help him to know that he is not a fool cast away, but a beloved child being made new, for You give wisdom generously to those who ask. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may bear the fruit of self control and purity. Help him to learn from this fall to hate sin and to love righteousness, and to walk in the freedom You have already purchased for him on the cross. We pray that he would grow in holiness day by day and know the joy of a clean conscience before You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you, do not stay in despair. Proverbs 24:16 says for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again. Rise again today by confessing, repenting, and taking practical steps to flee temptation. Stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and stay in fellowship with believers who will help you pursue a life of purity that honors God and prepares you for a godly marriage if it is His will for you. God is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you.

Thank you for being this honest with us. Falling again and feeling like lust is following you around is exhausting, and it makes sense you would feel foolish and discouraged. You are not a fool to us, you are a young person being honest about a real struggle and asking where Jesus is in it.

You asked if Jesus will save you. Yes, He does. Being free in Jesus does not mean you will never be tempted again, but it does mean you do not have to face that temptation alone or stay stuck in shame about it. The feeling that you look at everything lustfully often grows stronger when we try to fight it in isolation.

One thing that genuinely helps is not carrying this by yourself. We encourage you to choose one safe, mature Christian person to talk with openly, a pastor, youth leader, or trusted parent, and ask them to check in with you regularly. Isolation makes this harder, and having another person who knows what you are facing and can ask you honest questions takes away some of its power. It also helps to clear away what trips you up when you are strong, before temptation comes, rather than trying to make decisions in the moment.

We are praying for you and we care about you.

Jesus, thank You that You see this young heart and You do save. We ask You to lift shame, give wisdom and strength for each day, and provide a trustworthy person to walk alongside. Help him know he is loved and not alone, and guide his steps toward what is good and pure. In Jesus' name, amen.

Praying for you, that our Lord will give you the strength to overcome this temptation that you have been struggling with -
Prayers in the name of Jesus Christ.

Your honest confession has reached a gracious ear, and it is well that you do not hide your sin but lay it open before God. You tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart you desire forgiveness, and to such a heart the word of the Lord comes with a blessed whisper, There is forgiveness.

You ask, will Jesus save me, though I have fallen again and feel myself a fool. Hear this, there is forgiveness with God, and it is a divine forgiveness. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Were all men to hiss at you and you felt yourself the chief of sinners, you may yet have the chief of sinners forgiveness, for where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. However sinful your life has been up to now, there is forgiveness with God even for you, and it is to be had through Jesus Christ His Son alone, the Just who died for the unjust that He might bring us to God.

This forgiveness is surprising, so surprising that the Lord repeats, I, even I, lest any should doubt it. It is complete, as when a creditor forgives the whole debt to one who has nothing to pay. It is eternal, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. And it is present, now, at this moment. Whether you are very young or very old, there is forgiveness now if you will come with repentance and faith and put your trust in Christ. The tally is destroyed, the record nailed to the cross, when a man believes with his heart that Jesus is his Redeemer.

Yet do not think lightly of the snare that has taken you. You say lust follows you around, and you look lustfully at everything. Take heed, for lust when it has conceived brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. That is the pedigree of sin, it is born of lust and it brings forth death. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death, rest assured of that. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord.

You are not free to remain in lust, but you may be freed from its dominion by the blood of Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive as we walk humbly before Him, yet that same grace teaches us to deny ungodliness. Do not remain in the place of temptation as if you must be overcome. Pray as our Lord taught us, Lead us not into temptation, which is a prayer that God would not suffer you to be led where the trial becomes a snare, and that if trial must come, you may not stain your garments but stand fast at the end of the day.

Therefore come again to Christ, not with an excuse but with confession. Believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, as a man believes that his own debt is cancelled. Turn from the lust of the eye and flee youthful lusts, make no provision for the flesh, set a watch over your eyes and your thoughts, and seek the company and the employments that help purity rather than inflame it. If you fall, fall not into despair but fall before the mercy seat, for there is forgiveness, there was forgiveness, there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts for the penitent believing soul. Let that whisper drive away despair, and let it also lead you to hate the sin that made the whisper necessary.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have spoken honestly about falling again, and that honesty before God is the beginning of turning back to Him. You ask what you learned, whether you are a fool, and whether Jesus will save you. The shame and sense of folly you feel is not strange. Scripture shows that even the memory of sin can make us blush when we are coming to our senses, and that blushing is meant not to crush you but to move you to renounce what has been hidden.

The apostle says no temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but will provide the way of escape so that you can endure it. Lust can feel as if it is following you everywhere, especially at your age when desires feel strong and constant, but God always provides an exit. It may be turning your eyes away, leaving the place, closing the screen, praying aloud, or calling a trusted brother for help. Your part is to take that way when He provides it, not to test whether He is able to punish or to linger with what tempts you.

You say in a way you are free because of Jesus. That is true in the deepest sense. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. Where that blessedness is given, shame is removed and glory is given. But this forgiveness is not given so that we may continue in hidden things of shame or walk in craftiness while handling the word of God deceitfully. We are called to renounce those hidden things and to be as we appear before God, without duplicity.

Do not think that falling again means repentance is closed to you. Repentance itself is not excluded. What Scripture warns against is treating grace as if Christ must be crucified again whenever we want to sin and then return without change, which would put Him to open shame. Instead come with true repentance, confessing that lustful looking is sin, agreeing with God that sex belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and asking Him not to bless the lust but to cleanse you from it.

So learn to use the way of escape. Guard your eyes, keep away from what stirs lust, fill your time with prayer and Scripture and useful work, and flee when temptation approaches. Close the day with thanksgiving and retire to sleep in peace, rather than as one who has lost his senses and wakes with shame and accusation.

Jesus does save those who turn to Him in faith, even when they feel foolish. He does not save because you have learned enough or become strong enough, but because He is merciful to those who confess and forsake sin. If you come to Him honestly, trusting Him alone to forgive and to change you, He will forgive and He will give you patience and a way through the temptation as you walk in His way.

I pray for you now that God would forgive you for Christ's sake, lift the condemning shame, give you a true hatred for the sin itself, show you the way of escape each time temptation comes, and strengthen you to take it, so that you may sleep and wake with a clear conscience and live free from accusation.

It's one thing falling into lust and doing the act, it's a different story if I fall into a sin spiral (doing it everyday) please pray for me not to go back to that, I love Jesus but I'm not thankful for him enough.
