Your willingness to bring this struggle into the light is itself a work of grace, and I thank God for your love for Jesus and your desire to be free. To still struggle after giving your life to Christ does not mean you are abandoned, it means you are in the fight where God is forming you, and He hears your honest prayer.

Scripture is clear that lust is not satisfied by feeding it, but by turning from it. This desire is not quenched by adding more to it, but by taking away what fuels it and by convincing the heart that this path cannot give what it promises. When the mind is persuaded that this desire leads away from life and peace, the soul can begin to recover. That is why the call is not to manage the sin, but to flee from it, to cut off its sources, to guard the eyes and the heart, and to fill the mind with what is pure.

Remember also that those who once lived in sexual sin entered the kingdom not as they were, but as those who obeyed and believed and were purified and converted. God does not receive us because we remain as we were, but because He washes and changes us by His grace and righteousness. Your past falls do not define you if you continue to turn to Christ in repentance.

Growth in purity is often like building a house. The foundation must be allowed to set before more is added. Do not expect to become perfect in a moment, but receive the word portion by portion, let it settle in your heart, and build little by little in faithfulness. Small, steady obedience, prayer, Scripture, and accountability will make the whole structure strong.

Walk in humility before God, for He rests upon the meek and those who tremble at His word, while pride makes the heart unclean and open to the enemy. Bring your weakness to Him without excuse and without pride, confessing your need for His help each day.

I am praying for you now. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on Your servant who loves You and longs to be free. Forgive what has been done, cleanse the heart, and give strength to turn away from lust. Take away the love for what harms the soul, renew the mind by Your truth, and teach the steps of purity, faith, and self control. Guard the heart and eyes, provide a way of escape in every temptation, and surround this life with wise and faithful help. Make Your grace not only pardon but power to live anew. Amen.

Keep coming to Christ quickly when you fall, do not stay in shame, keep short accounts with Him, remove what causes you to stumble, seek a trusted mature believer to walk with you, and stay in the word and in prayer daily. God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you.

Your willingness to be honest about this struggle is precious to God, and He hears your desire to walk more closely with Jesus. Please know that being tempted is not the same as having failed beyond hope. Every person faces temptation, and even Jesus Himself was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin. The sin is not in the pull you feel, but when desire is allowed to conceive and we yield to it.

Scripture makes a distinction that helps here. God may allow testing to strengthen faith and to develop patience, but God never solicits anyone to evil. The solicitation to do evil comes from the enemy working with our own desires. A person is drawn away when enticed by his own lust, and when that lust is embraced it gives birth to sin. That is why the battle feels so inward. The flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, and you must choose in that moment which way you will walk.

The enemy's strategy is almost always the same. He appeals to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life, and he whispers that you can have immediate satisfaction if you will just step off God's path for a moment. That promise is empty. You cannot satisfy lust by feeding it. You can only starve it. Every time you indulge it, it grows stronger. Every time you deny it and feed the Spirit instead, it grows weaker.

You are not alone in this and you have not faced a temptation that is unusual. What is written is true, that no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with the temptation He will make a way of escape so that you can endure it. But you must take the escape He provides. He will not force you away from it. You have to choose to walk away.

That is why the practical counsel of Scripture is so direct. Flee youthful lusts. Run from the place of temptation. It takes more courage to run than to stay and fall, but running is wisdom. Do not linger, do not negotiate, do not try to be strong in the presence of the temptation. Get away from it.

And fill your heart with the Word of God. When Jesus was tempted He answered every solicitation with what is written. The Word hidden in the heart is power against sin. Memorize passages that speak to purity and to your identity in Christ, and use them the moment the thought comes. Remind yourself that you are dead to that old life and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. You do not have to be mastered by the flesh any longer. You have been raised with Christ and you can now choose to walk by the Spirit.

Jesus is not distant from your weakness. He was pressed with temptation far beyond what any of us have known, and because He endured it He understands what you are going through. He is a merciful High Priest who is touched with the feeling of your infirmity. He knows the pressure you feel, and His grace is available to help you in that very moment. Come boldly to Him for mercy, not with shame that keeps you away, but with confidence that He wants to lift you up and strengthen you.

The world and its lusts are passing away, but the one who does the will of God abides forever. Do not set your affection on what is fading. Set it on Christ.

I am praying for you, that God will give you a renewed love for His Word, quick discernment to see the way of escape He provides, and the courage to take it every time. May He teach you how to starve the flesh and how to walk in the Spirit day by day, and may you know the joy of a clean conscience before Him. When you do stumble, do not stay down. Confess it quickly, receive His forgiveness through Jesus, and get up and walk again. He is faithful to cleanse and to restore.

We want to thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for your honesty in sharing that you fell into lust again and that you desire to quit this foolish addiction. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have been bringing you before the Lord these past days. We have been praying for your strength and encouragement as one who has given your life to Christ and who loves Jesus so much yet still finds yourself struggling.

We want to remind you that this struggle does not mean you are not His and it does not mean He has left you. We all need His grace daily and He sees your repentant heart. Scripture tells us that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9 and that there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus in Rom 8:1. We also cling to the promise that God is faithful and will with the temptation also make a way to escape that we may be able to bear it in 1 Cor 10:13 and that if we walk in the Spirit we shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh in Gal 5:16.
