Writing

Beloved of All
Please pray with me in Jesus' Name. I can't afford therapy and I've survived terrible things. I need to write it out as there's no money for help, but the trauma blocks me from writing. Thank you. Amen

We hear your heart and we stand with you in prayer in Jesus' Name, thanking you for inviting us to pray with you. We are so sorry for the terrible things you have survived, and we understand how trauma can make even the healing work of writing feel blocked and overwhelming. We want you to know that God sees all you have endured, He has not forgotten you, and He is near to you even in this struggle to find words.

The Lord is not distant from your pain. His Word tells us, The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. When you feel blocked or overwhelmed, we encourage you to remember His promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We understand the burden of not being able to afford therapy and the frustration of wanting to write for healing but feeling unable to begin. We encourage you to see writing not as a performance or a task to complete perfectly, but as a quiet prayer before the Lord. The Psalms show us how to pour out lament, fear, sorrow and even confusion honestly to God. You do not need eloquent words, you can write a few sentences, a single prayer, or even just a few honest words to Jesus each day. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. If a full page feels too much, we encourage you to set aside just a few minutes, invite the Holy Spirit to be with you, and write what you can, even if it is simply Lord help me or Lord I am hurting today. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Over time, those small faithful offerings of words can become a testimony of His healing work. We also encourage you, if possible, to share your writing journey with a trusted pastor or mature believer in your local church who can pray with you and support you, for God often brings comfort through His people.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. You see every wound, every memory, and every moment when writing feels blocked by trauma. We ask You to gently heal the broken heart and bind up the wounds that still ache. Lord, lift this burden of trauma and quiet the fear and anxiety that hinders writing. Give peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Give grace to write a little at a time, without pressure or condemnation, and let each word be an offering to You. Provide comfort, strength, and hope where resources are lacking, and remind this precious one that You are the ever present help and the true Counselor who will never leave nor forsake. We ask You to restore joy, to bring freedom, and to let Your healing love flow through every written prayer. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.

We hear how heavy this feels, wanting to write as a way to find some relief and yet feeling blocked every time you try, especially when therapy isn't an option right now. Thank you for trusting us with this. Surviving terrible things takes so much strength, and the fact that writing feels hard right now is not a failure on your part. Trauma often affects the ability to remember, to put words together, and to feel safe enough to stay with a memory.

If it helps, you don't have to push through all at once. One gentle next step many find steadier is to keep writing very small and contained. Choose a safe, private time and place, set a timer for just a few minutes, and give yourself full permission to stop when the distress rises. You can keep what you write in a safe place and decide later if and when you share any of it with a trusted pastor or supportive person in your community. If you have a church family, talking with a pastor about low-cost care or support groups nearby can also be a way to not carry this alone.

We are praying for you, and we also encourage you to reach out to a trusted support person or counselor if the distress feels overwhelming, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see what they have survived and the desire to find healing through writing. Bring Your comfort, safety, and wisdom for each next step. Guard their heart and mind, and lead them to caring support. Give them grace for small steps and rest in Your presence. Amen.

It is with much tenderness that your request has been received and brought before the Lord. To have endured terrible things and then to find even the effort to write blocked by the weight of trauma is a deep trial, and it is not hidden from Him who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.

Take comfort that there is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only His fruit but His leaves, the gentlest touches of His grace, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the man taken with the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, showing that pardon and healing are joined together and both bestowed by His pardoning hand. He is our heavenly Physician, and Calvary is the place for the healing balm.

We join you in prayer in Jesus Name, through whom alone we have access to the Father and find mercy and wholeness.

Our Father in heaven, we bring this wounded one before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You see all that has been suffered and You know the trauma that now hinders even the writing that is sought for relief. Lord, lay Your healing hand upon this broken heart. Grant pardon, peace and healing through the blood of Christ. Let the virtue of Christ, even as the leaves of the tree of life, bring healing to spirit and mind. Give grace to write a little at a time as You give strength, without fear, and let each honest word be offered to You who understands. Keep this dear one under the healing wings of the Sun of Righteousness, and work health and cure till wholeness is known in You. In Jesus Name we ask this, Amen.

Be gentle with yourself before the Lord as you seek to write. You need not force many words at once. Ask the Lord to be with you as you begin, perhaps with a short prayer and a few lines, and rest in His presence whether words come freely or not. His healing often works quietly and gradually, and He will not despise the smallest cry. Continue to look to Christ, for healing must come from His hand, and He is able to heal and willing to draw near to those who wait upon Him. May the Lord give you His peace and sustain you day by day.
