Good and Faithful Servant
Something happened at work a few weeks ago that made me uncomfortable to continue interacting with a group of people who I always used to interact with. This incident was likely due to spiritual warfare using the people involved to be harmful. After a while, I became more comfortable interacting with them again but then today I started to feel uncomfortable again for certain reasons and decided that I just don't really want to interact with that group anymore. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We hear your struggle and recognize the weight of spiritual warfare in your workplace. The enemy seeks to sow discord, fear, and division, often using people, even unwittingly, to create discomfort and strife. Scripture warns us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." It is not the people themselves you are battling, but the spiritual forces at work behind them.

We must also examine whether there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in your heart toward these individuals. The Bible instructs us in Hebrews 12:15 to "look carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." If there is any offense you have not released, we encourage you to forgive them, as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13). Unforgiveness can give the enemy a foothold in your life.

At the same time, wisdom is needed in navigating these relationships. Proverbs 4:14-15 advises, "Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on." If these interactions are causing you spiritual harm or drawing you away from peace in Christ, it may be wise to limit your engagement with this group. However, we must also guard against fear, for 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing spiritual warfare in their workplace. Lord, we ask that You would reveal any areas of unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear in their heart and cleanse them by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Grant them wisdom to discern how to navigate these relationships in a way that honors You. If there is a need for boundaries, give them the courage to set them in love. If there is a need for reconciliation, soften hearts and open doors for restoration. Protect their mind and heart from the enemy’s lies, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen them to walk in power, love, and self-control, knowing that You have not given them a spirit of fear. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against them and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May they be a light in their workplace, shining Your truth and grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and ask Him to reveal His will for these relationships. If these interactions are not edifying or are causing you to stumble, it may be time to step back. However, if the Lord is calling you to be a witness in that space, ask Him for the strength and grace to do so with boldness and love. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray for you and encourage you in your walk with Christ. You are not alone in this battle, God is with you, and we stand with you in prayer.

We hear how unsettling it feels when a space that was once comfortable suddenly isn’t, especially when you sense something spiritual underneath the shift. That kind of unease can be wearying, and we’re glad you asked us to stand with you in prayer about it.

What you’re describing, the back-and-forth between feeling more comfortable and then not again, makes sense. Sometimes we want a single defining moment of clarity or deliverance, but often the work God does is more of a slow, steady walk. Growth and wisdom unfold as we take one step, then another, even when the ground still feels a little uncertain. You don’t have to force resolution today; you can simply bring the whole tangled situation to Him each morning and trust that He is sorting what you cannot.

As you navigate this, one practical step may be to prayerfully give yourself permission to interact with that group at whatever pace feels right for now, without guilt. You don’t owe anyone instant normalcy. It may also help to quietly identify one or two people in the group you can still trust, and let those smaller, safer interactions rebuild ground beneath your feet at a natural rhythm.

Father, we lift up our friend who is weary from workplace tension and spiritual unease. You see every hidden dynamic at play. Please grant clear discernment, to know what is simple caution, what is anxiety, and what requires protective distance. Cover this person and that entire environment with the peace of Christ that quiets what the enemy wants to stir up. Guard mind and heart, and guide each interaction with Your wisdom and kindness. In Jesus’ name we pray.

A trouble of heart over daily fellowship speaks to a disquiet within the conscience. Christ has left us peace, not as the world gives, but His own unruffled calm, the profound peace of the eternal Son of God. When the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, it guards the soul even when outward associations grow stormy. Yet if this unrest persists, examine whether it springs from a tender avoidance of sin, or from a wound that has not been brought fully to the healing fountain. Peace with God is the fountain; peace in the conscience is the crystal stream. Where the stream is troubled, return to the fountain.

Consider also that the will of Jesus is our rest. To do that will, even in thronging duties and difficult company, is where peace perfects its work. If withdrawal is a cloak for resentment or fear, it will not yield the sweet honey of His presence. But if by drawing near to Christ you discern that continued interaction would entangle you in spiritual harm, then a quiet stepping aside, done without bitterness, may itself be an act of trust. True spiritual strength is renewed not by mere avoidance, but by staying near to Him. Lay hold of Christ, and He will either make the path plain or cause you to stand firm in it with a quiet heart.

Your soul has tasted that the Lord is sweet. Let that sweetness be your strength. Trust your sorrow and confusion to Him who keeps all His loved ones safe, and let the Spirit of truth lead you into that peace which passes understanding, whether He restores the fellowship or bids you glean in another field. Pray be encouraged: the Prince of Peace has vanquished every hostile power, and He will perfect that which concerns you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The conflict you describe is not unexpected, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the spiritual wickednesses in high places. A savage phalanx stands arrayed against you, and if you laugh and take things easily, even before the battle you will be overthrown by your own remissness. This discomfort you felt was likely no small skirmish, but a sign that the enemy sought to wound you through those around you. Yet to withdraw entirely from that group because of it may be to grant him a victory. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of thee.” If the body is one, each member has its place, and the weaker seem to be the more necessary. You are not called to isolation but to war a good warfare, and you need strong arms, sobriety, and continual vigilance. Do not let unease drive you from the very field where God would have you stand.

The word of God is quick and powerful, a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, let it sift your own spirit. Is this retreat born of prudence or of weariness? Does it protect your peace or merely avoid the labor of forbearance? Labor, labor to enter into that rest, lest you fall after the same example of unbelief. Faith is great and brings salvation, but it suffices not of itself; there must be a right conversation also. Even in punishing, God shows His goodness, for He permits these buffetings to humble us and make us cling to Him. Their harm may have been grievous, but the Law judges no man without careful hearing; know what they intended, on what account, and then root out any poison of bitterness from your own soul.

Let prayer be your breastplate. I will pray for you now: O God all-powerful, whose righteousness endures forever, give this soul a contrite and humbled heart, sober, self-possessed, and awestruck. Let the seal of Your Spirit be upon him, that he need no commendation from men, but carry Your epistle in his heart. Grant him to stand firm in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Through the blood of the eternal covenant, equip him for every good work, that joining hands and eyes in the unity of the faith, he may glorify You. Amen.

You are right to see more here than an ordinary workplace conflict. The strain you feel is spiritual before it is relational. That does not make the discomfort imaginary. It means the real contest is not against those people, but against the unseen pressures that use hurt, suspicion, and division. You already sensed that once, but the danger is to forget it and begin treating the group itself as the enemy. That is how the battle shifts into the flesh, and the flesh usually produces avoidance, resentment, or fear.

Before you settle on not interacting with them, take this into prayer. Ask the Lord for discernment. There may be a legitimate need for some boundaries, but do not make the decision from unease alone. Pray for the people involved. The word of God, faith, and prayer are the weapons that can actually change what is happening and guard your mind. You are not caught in a fair physical fight. In Christ you stand on the side of a victory already won at the cross.

So I am praying that God gives you peace, wisdom, and courage. Let this push you further into prayer rather than further into isolation. If the Lord wants you to remain kind and steady toward that group, he will give you both protection and love to do it. If he shows you a time to step back, he will make that clear with a peace that does not come from offense. Do not let the enemy use this to harden your heart. Let Christ use it to deepen your reliance on him.
