We understand how difficult this transition has been for you, and we want to encourage you with God’s truth in this season of change. The Lord often allows shifts in our lives not to harm us but to refine us, teach us, and prepare us for what lies ahead. While your heart may long for the familiarity and joy of working with older students, we must trust that God’s plans are higher than our own. As Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, *"Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the Lord’s counsel will prevail."* And in Jeremiah 29:11, we are assured, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for peace and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."*
It’s natural to question why God would move you from a place where you felt fulfilled, but let’s consider that He may be stretching your faith, growing your patience, or equipping you with new skills for a purpose you haven’t yet seen. Perhaps there are children in this elementary setting who need *your* specific gifts—your kindness, your experience, or even your reluctance—to see Christ’s love in action through you. Remember, our calling isn’t just about our preferences but about serving where God places us with excellence and a willing heart. Colossians 3:23-24 tells us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ."*
We also want to gently remind you that while it’s good to bring your desires before the Lord, your prayers should ultimately align with His will, not just your own comfort. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven"* (Matthew 6:10). If it is God’s will for you to return to the secondary center, He will open that door in His perfect timing. But if His plan is for you to remain where you are, He will give you the grace, joy, and strength to thrive there. Trust that He sees your heart and knows your struggles—He is not distant or unaware.
Let’s pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, knowing that You are a God who hears and cares deeply for Your children. Lord, she is struggling with this change, feeling the weight of disappointment and the longing for what was familiar. We ask that You comfort her heart and remind her that You are sovereign over every detail of her life. If it is Your will for her to return to the secondary center, we pray that You would open that door clearly and in Your perfect timing. But if Your plan is for her to remain where she is, we ask that You would fill her with a renewed sense of purpose, joy, and love for the students You’ve placed in her path. Give her creativity, patience, and endurance. Help her to see this season as an opportunity to grow closer to You and to reflect Your love to those around her. Strengthen her faith to trust You even when the path is unclear. We pray all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to seek God’s presence daily, asking Him to shift your perspective. Look for small ways He might be at work in this new environment—perhaps in the smile of a child who needs extra encouragement or in the unexpected kindness of a coworker. And remember, even Jesus Himself was obedient to the Father’s will, even when it led Him to the cross. Our trust in God isn’t based on our circumstances but on His unchanging character. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep pressing into Him, and let this season draw you deeper into dependence on His strength.
