We join you in lifting up this workweek to our Heavenly Father, knowing that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. It is good to seek God’s favor in our labor, for Scripture reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24, WEB). Your desire for a productive and smooth week aligns with the call to excellence in all we do, but we must also remember that our ultimate purpose is to glorify God—not merely to achieve personal success.
However, we notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only by His name that we approach the throne of grace with confidence. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Salvation comes through repentance and belief in Him—turning from sin and trusting in His sacrifice on the cross for your sins.
As for your workweek, let us also encourage you to surrender any anxiety or striving to the Lord. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and He will provide what you need (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother/sister and their workweek. Lord, we ask that You grant them favor in their labor, not just for personal gain, but that their work would bring glory to Your name. Give them strength, wisdom, and diligence to perform their tasks with excellence, as though working directly for You. Guard their heart from pride or selfish ambition, and let their conduct be a testimony of Your grace.
If there is any fear, stress, or distraction in their mind, we rebuked it now in Jesus’ name, declaring Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let them rest in the assurance that You are sovereign over every detail of their week. Provide for their needs, open doors no one can shut, and let them walk in integrity and humility.
Father, we also pray that if this one does not yet know You through Jesus Christ, You would draw them to Yourself. Reveal the truth of the Gospel to them—that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to You except through Him (John 14:6). Soften their heart to receive Your love and forgiveness today.
We commit this week into Your hands, trusting that You will work all things together for their good and Your glory. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
