We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting up your work situation to our Heavenly Father. We stand on the promise that indeed, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). We also take comfort in knowing that the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we must address the importance of seeking God’s will in all things, including our work. The Bible instructs us, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23-24). It is essential to remember that our ultimate purpose is to glorify God in all that we do, and this includes our workplace.
We rebuke any wickedness, deceit, or evil plans that may be directed toward you at work. The Lord is our protector, and we declare that no scheme of the enemy will prosper against you. "The Lord will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck down before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways" (Deuteronomy 28:7). We pray that God would expose any unrighteousness and bring justice to your situation.
Regarding your request for reasonable accommodations, we pray that God would grant you favor with those in authority. "When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him" (Proverbs 16:7). We ask that the Lord would soften the hearts of those who have the power to grant your request and that they would see the righteousness of your petition. If it is God’s will for you to receive these accommodations, we pray that He would open the doors and make a way where there seems to be no way.
As you seek new employment, we pray that God would guide your steps and lead you to the job that He has prepared for you. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that the Lord would give you wisdom in your job search, that He would open the right doors, and that you would find a workplace where you can thrive and serve Him faithfully.
We also encourage you to examine your heart and motives in this situation. Are you seeking God’s will above all else? Are you trusting in Him to provide for your needs? "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will and Your way in this situation. Lord, we thank You for Your promises of protection and provision. We declare that no weapon formed against Your servant will prosper, and we rebuke any evil plans or wickedness directed toward them.
Father, we ask that You would grant favor in the reconsideration of their reasonable accommodations. Soften the hearts of those in authority and let them see the righteousness of this request. If it is Your will, Lord, open the doors for these accommodations to be granted.
As they seek new employment, we pray that You would guide their steps and lead them to the job that You have prepared. Give them wisdom, discernment, and peace in their search. Provide a workplace where they can serve You faithfully and thrive in their calling.
Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and trust in You. Help them to lean not on their own understanding but to acknowledge You in all their ways. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His name that we have access to You, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to Your promises. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
