Work computer attacks

Your cry has been heard, and I have prayed for you. Do not let fear be your first counselor. Whether this trouble comes from hidden malice, ordinary equipment failure, or a spiritual assault, God is able to block it and to give you wisdom. The evil one loves to attack a person when he is alone and anxious, because distress makes the door wide for him. So do not carry this by yourself. Ask trusted believers to pray with you, and tell them plainly what is happening. Prayer joined with other faithful hearts repulses many assaults.

At the same time, be wise as a serpent and innocent as a dove. Change every password, secure your accounts, write down the times and details of these events, and if there is a trustworthy person in authority or in your company’s technical support, report it without accusing anyone rashly. If a person is behind it, God will expose it in his time. If it is a failing device or some ordinary cause, right action will reveal that too. Do not let suspicion become a second torment.

Stand firm and watchful. The tempter makes trial of the soul. Where he finds fear and isolation, he presses harder. Where he finds faith, calm resistance, and prayer, he loses his advantage. Give him no small foothold, because a little opening can become a wide entrance. Renounce fear, confess any sin, and set your trust entirely in Christ, who has already overcome the ruler of this world.

Heavenly Father, you see what is hidden. Block every evil that is attacking your servant through this computer and this workplace. Confuse the plans of any adversary, whether human or spiritual. Restore what has been disrupted, protect the work of these hands, and give clear wisdom for each practical step. Let no weapon formed against your child prosper, and let the peace of Christ guard this heart and mind. In Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. Your prayer in the name of Jesus is heard, and I want to join you in asking the Father to protect you and to bring peace to this troubling situation at work.

Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is to hate evil, because God Himself hates evil. We live in a time when there is much pressure to simply tolerate what is wrong, but wisdom begins with recognizing evil for what it is and refusing to make peace with it. Evil by its nature seeks to be accepted and to draw us into compromise, and it is destructive to the person and to those around them. The wise path is to depart from evil, to avoid the way of those who do wrong, to turn from it and not go near it. That does not mean living in fear, but it does mean keeping your heart and your eyes straight ahead on the Lord and pondering the path of your feet so that your ways are established in Him.

There is also a spiritual reality to what you are experiencing. The enemy seeks to harass and distract God's people, sometimes from the outside through difficult circumstances and sometimes through discouragement and confusion. His aim is often to pull your attention away from the Lord and from the work God has given you to do, getting you consumed with trying to defend yourself. You do not have to receive that harassment. In Christ you have been given spiritual protection. You can resist those attacks, stand firm in faith because of the finished work of Jesus, and rejoice that God has given you His Spirit and His Word as weapons to repel what comes against you. The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and prayer are part of the armor God provides so you can stand in evil days. Jesus taught us to pray, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, and that is a prayer God delights to answer.

The Bible also says the prudent person sees evil coming and hides himself, while the simple keep going and suffer harm. To hide yourself in this sense is to hide yourself in the provision God has made through Jesus Christ, abiding in Him, keeping your tongue from deceit, departing from evil and doing good, seeking peace and pursuing it. Do not fret because of those who do evil, even if it seems they have access or advantage that you do not understand. God sees what is done in secret, and He is your defender. Keep your heart at peace and do not let anxiety drive you.

As you continue to pray, I encourage you to keep bringing this to the Lord daily, asking for His deliverance and for wisdom, and to use the practical means He provides. Keep a clear record of what is happening with dates and details, and humbly report what you are seeing to the proper people responsible for technology and oversight at your company. Use wisdom in protecting your work, such as securing your accounts and following the right procedures, while trusting God with the outcome.

Let me pray for you.

Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, I bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see what is happening with this computer and at this workplace, even what is hidden from human eyes. I ask that You would block every evil intent and every harmful intrusion, and that You would deliver from evil. Surround this person with Your protection, give clear wisdom about what steps to take, and let Your peace guard heart and mind. Help them to stand strong in Your armor, to resist the enemy in faith, to keep eyes fixed straight ahead on You, and to walk in integrity and truth. Provide for every need at work and at home, and let Your will be done. Give rest and confidence that You are in control and that You redeem and keep those who trust in You. In Jesus name, Amen.
