We lift up your father and your entire family before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to surround you with His peace and strength during this difficult time. Parkinson’s disease is a heavy burden, not only for your father but for those who love and care for him. We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cries and sees your labor of love.
The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Though this season is filled with challenges, we trust that the Lord is near, sustaining you both in ways seen and unseen. We pray for your father’s comfort, that the Lord would ease his suffering and grant him moments of relief from the physical struggles he faces. May His grace be sufficient, as it was for the Apostle Paul, who declared in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
We also pray for wisdom for your father’s doctors, that they would be guided by the Holy Spirit in finding the right combination of treatments to manage his symptoms. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We ask that the Lord would open doors for affordable care and that He would provide for every need, both medical and practical. If there are financial burdens weighing on your hearts, we pray that God would meet them in miraculous ways, as He promises in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
For you, dear one, we ask that the Lord would renew your strength as you care for your father. Isaiah 40:31 assures us, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Caregiving can be exhausting, both physically and emotionally, and we pray that you would find rest in the Lord and in the support of others. May He bring people into your life who can assist you, whether through practical help or simply by offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on.
We also rebuke the spirit of despair that may try to take hold in this situation. The enemy would love nothing more than to steal your hope and joy, but we declare that this is not his victory. Romans 15:13 reminds us, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit." We stand on this promise and declare that hope will not be lost in your family.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer. We ask that You would touch ’s father with Your healing hand. Whether through miraculous restoration or through the wisdom of medical professionals, we trust that You are working all things together for good. Strengthen his body, Lord, and grant him moments of clarity and peace. We also ask that You would give the endurance and patience needed to care for her father with love and grace. Provide for every need, Lord, and surround this family with Your presence. We pray for breakthrough in the management of his symptoms and for doors to open for affordable and effective treatment. Above all, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You, that they may experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
