Disciple of Prayer
Hi all, I ask for prayers for my father who is suffering from Parkinsons. He seem to be getting progressively worse ,and its harder and harder for him to walk and it's harder and harder for me to take care of him. Please pray for him, and also for finding the right combination of medications and affordability to help his progressing Parkinson's, pray for our doctor as well for wisdom. Thank you to all! In Jesus name, Amen.

We lift up your father and your entire family before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to surround you with His peace and strength during this difficult time. Parkinson’s disease is a heavy burden, not only for your father but for those who love and care for him. We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cries and sees your labor of love.

The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Though this season is filled with challenges, we trust that the Lord is near, sustaining you both in ways seen and unseen. We pray for your father’s comfort, that the Lord would ease his suffering and grant him moments of relief from the physical struggles he faces. May His grace be sufficient, as it was for the Apostle Paul, who declared in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

We also pray for wisdom for your father’s doctors, that they would be guided by the Holy Spirit in finding the right combination of treatments to manage his symptoms. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We ask that the Lord would open doors for affordable care and that He would provide for every need, both medical and practical. If there are financial burdens weighing on your hearts, we pray that God would meet them in miraculous ways, as He promises in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

For you, dear one, we ask that the Lord would renew your strength as you care for your father. Isaiah 40:31 assures us, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Caregiving can be exhausting, both physically and emotionally, and we pray that you would find rest in the Lord and in the support of others. May He bring people into your life who can assist you, whether through practical help or simply by offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on.

We also rebuke the spirit of despair that may try to take hold in this situation. The enemy would love nothing more than to steal your hope and joy, but we declare that this is not his victory. Romans 15:13 reminds us, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit." We stand on this promise and declare that hope will not be lost in your family.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer. We ask that You would touch ’s father with Your healing hand. Whether through miraculous restoration or through the wisdom of medical professionals, we trust that You are working all things together for good. Strengthen his body, Lord, and grant him moments of clarity and peace. We also ask that You would give the endurance and patience needed to care for her father with love and grace. Provide for every need, Lord, and surround this family with Your presence. We pray for breakthrough in the management of his symptoms and for doors to open for affordable and effective treatment. Above all, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You, that they may experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We are sitting with you in this, and we know how heavy it feels to watch your father struggle and to carry the daily weight of caregiving at the same time. When walking becomes harder for him and harder for you to manage, the physical and emotional strain is real, and you do not have to pretend otherwise. Sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is simply say, "This is getting to be too much for me." You have done that in asking for prayer, and we are grateful.

One thing that may help steady you in the coming days is remembering that Parkinson's is not only a movement disorder, it can affect mood, thinking, and even a person's perception in subtle ways. That means some of the frustration or discouragement you sense from your dad may actually be the disease itself, not a lack of appreciation for your sacrifice. Knowing that does not make the lifting easier, but it can protect your heart from adding guilt or resentment to an already exhausting load. You are not failing him. You are showing up, day after day, and that is love in action.

Here is a practical step that fits what you asked: before your next appointment with the doctor, write down the specific moments that feel hardest, what time of day, what activity, what seems to trigger the most difficulty for your dad and the most strain for you. Hand that note to the doctor rather than trying to summarize from memory. It gives the physician a clearer picture for adjusting medications or dosages, and it also serves as a small record of the real demands this places on you.

And please let yourself ask for help. If there is a family member, a friend from church, or even a neighbor who has offered, this is the time to say yes, even just someone to sit with him so you can step outside for fifteen minutes or run an errand alone. Caregivers need care too, and that is not selfish; it is practical stewardship of the strength God has given you.

We pray with you now: Father, we lift up this son and his dad to You. Give the doctor wisdom, steady hands, and insight to find the right balance of treatment, and we ask for open doors to make it affordable. Hold this father steady when walking feels uncertain, and hold his son steady when his heart feels the same. Renew their strength, both of them, in the quiet ways only You can. In Jesus' name, amen.

The very leaves of the tree are for healing, and the least things about Christ brim with restoring virtue. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus for your dear father, even as Parkinson’s seems to tighten its grip and weary both his body and your hands that care for him. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing walk together in the Savior’s tender work. Let not the growing difficulty silence your cry, Calvary holds the balm before the lancet, and the remedy is ever in His hand.

Healing must come before serving, and the fever that prostrates strength cannot be mended by our own straining. The Master first took Peter’s wife’s mother by the hand and lifted her up; then she ministered. So it is with a worn caregiver and a suffering father, the Lord’s touch must precede all our labor. Do not blunder forth saying, “I will manage this, I will find the way,” for the path of wisdom is not known to the strong as a fierce lion, nor to the swiftness of our anxious thoughts. Human judgment is a poor physician; it is the still small voice of God that heals broken hearts and guides trembling steps.

The healing virtue is conspicuously present when Christ is teaching, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Plead for your father at the throne, but also place him under the teaching of Jesus through Scripture, where the Spirit moves in seasons of refreshing. Pray for your doctor with confidence, for the Lord can infuse wisdom into the human mind, but never lean upon mortal skill as the fountainhead. The great Conduit Head above sends streams of healing down to men below, and the leaves, the humble means, the right medications, the merciful affordability, are all in His command.

His salvation will perfectly heal our bodies in the day of fullness, but even now, the healing of our nature begins where forgiveness reigns. Welcome your father and yourself again to this double mercy. Seek pardon, and healing will come from the same hand. The Lord cannot be straitened by a progressing disease or by the burdens of care; He is able to lift up what is prostrated and to revive the spirit of the weary. Look to Him who breaks no bruised reed, and in prayer, give neither sleep to your eyes nor slumber to your eyelids until you see the healing leaves unfold.

In the precious name of Jesus, the healer of the sick and the sustainer of the fainting, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The heaviness you feel, both in your father's suffering and in the labor of caring for him, is not unknown to the Lord. He Himself calls out, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." For He knows that our burdens are real, yet He compares the weight of our trials to the far heavier burden of sin. Vice is the true talent of lead; the anxieties of this life, though they press sorely upon us, are light when laid next to the crushing load of unrepented evil. So do not think your weariness is without meaning. Even the daily care that exhausts you is a yoke that He has permitted, and He will make it easy if you learn of Him.

What you see as a progressive loss, the world's wisdom counts as ruin. But we speak a wisdom hidden in mystery, which God ordained before the ages for our glory. The wisdom from above often appears foolishness to those who trust only in what their hands can hold, yet Christ is made unto us wisdom. Your father's body may decline, but that is not the end. Remember that the miracles of healing which the early Church saw were given for a time, and were withdrawn that we might learn a greater thing: to believe without visible pledges. The faith that holds fast when no instant cure appears is of higher birth and deeper love. Do not let your heart fix itself upon finding the perfect combination of medicines as though earthly wisdom sufficed. Pray for your doctor, yes, and seek means with diligence, but let your prime trust be in the Great High Priest who has passed into the heavens. Hold fast your confession of hope in the resurrection.

When the cost of care and the difficulty of obtaining help rise up like a flood, consider the paradox of the kingdom. Poverty of any kind, borne with wisdom, becomes a festival. Has illness stripped away his former strength? It has removed a burden that kept his soul earthbound. The public halls, the beauty of the firmament, the radiance of God's mercy remain his, and no disease can touch them. So weep not as those who have no portion but as those who know that the inner man is renewed day by day. Your father's affliction, heavy though it is, shall not compare to the weight of glory being prepared. Cast this present burden upon Christ, and you shall find rest for your soul, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Your request touches my heart deeply. Caring for a father who is declining under Parkinson’s is a heavy, wearying labor of love, and watching his legs grow weaker while you bear the weight of his care is a trial that leaves you aching inside. I am praying with you for relief, for a clear path forward with his medications, and for the resources to afford what he needs. And I am specifically asking God to give your doctor more than medical knowledge, I’m asking for that doctor to be granted wisdom from above, a discerning insight that goes beyond textbooks and test results.

In the midst of this, I want to remind your soul of a truth that can steady you when you feel overwhelmed. There is a kind of wisdom that the world pursues, practical, often broken, limited by what we can see and measure. But God offers something far greater. His wisdom is not just knowing facts; it’s the ability to navigate life in a way that leads to life, even when the path is painful. The Scriptures personify wisdom, calling out in the streets, inviting all who will listen to come and receive what is better than rubies. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Jesus Christ himself. So when you cry out for help, you are not merely seeking a solution; you are reaching for the very heart of your Savior.

The starting place for that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a reverent trust that submits to his ways even when they make no sense to us. Right now, you may feel like Job, surrounded by well-meaning voices offering simplistic answers or struggling to find any meaning in this suffering. Yet the poor wise man who delivered his city was forgotten by men, but his wisdom was no less real. True wisdom often comes dressed in humility and endurance, not in loud explanations. It is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of good fruits. That is the wisdom I am asking God to pour out on you and on your father’s physician.

When you face decisions about medications, finances, and daily care, remember that God does not always do things our way, and he seldom stops to explain his purposes. But he invites you to ask for wisdom, just as Solomon did, and he promises to give it liberally. He is pleased when we value his wisdom above ease or quick fixes. So bring your weariness to him honestly. Ask him to grant you an understanding heart as you care for your dad, to know when to push forward and when to rest, how to manage every detail, and where to find the necessary provision. The wisdom of this world comes to nothing, but the wisdom from above will keep you and preserve you.

Lean hard on Christ, who is your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. In him, even this heavy season holds purpose that your eyes may never fully see this side of heaven. I am standing with you in prayer. May God flood your home with his peace and give you both the wisdom that leads to life.
