Thank you in advance for your profound prayers. My dad is in stage ### of ###. He has had severe episodes of demonic ### and accusations that are very evil. It breaks my heart to see our father suffering from this awful disease. He gets his attacks at night and it seems mornings. It seems that evil takes over him. Nobody sleeps; everyone is drained, mentally, spiritually, and physically, including my dad. We are at odds among siblings and family members. We are lost as to what we need to do. Please lift him up in prayer for his salvation as well. We pray with him and we tell him to call out to God. But we're not sure if he understands. Please help. We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father and your entire family in this deeply painful season. The suffering you describe, both physical and spiritual, is heartbreaking, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, trusting in the Lord’s mercy and power to intervene.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare you are witnessing. The Bible warns us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). The demonic attacks your father is experiencing are real, and they must be met with the authority of Jesus Christ. We rebuke these spirits in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding them to flee and loose their grip on your father. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that your father might have life, and have it abundantly. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over him, his mind, his body, and his spirit.

We also pray for your father’s salvation, for it is not too late for the Lord to draw him to Himself. The Bible tells us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). Even in his weakened state, the Holy Spirit can work powerfully in his heart. We pray that the eyes of his heart would be enlightened, that he would understand the hope to which he has been called (Ephesians 1:18). If he has not yet confessed Jesus as Lord, we ask that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that he would cry out to God for salvation. If he is already a believer, we pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit to strengthen him in this battle.

For your family, we pray for unity and wisdom. The enemy seeks to divide you in this time of weakness, but we declare that God is a God of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). We ask the Lord to soften hearts, mend relationships, and give you all a spirit of humility and love toward one another. The Bible says, "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1). We pray that you would be of one mind, one spirit, and one purpose as you care for your father and support one another.

Practical steps are also important in this battle. We encourage you to gather as a family to pray over your father, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord (James 5:14). Speak Scripture over him, verses like Psalm 91, which declares that God will command His angels concerning him to guard him in all his ways. Play worship music in his room, for the enemy cannot stand in the presence of praise (Psalm 22:3). Surround him with believers who can pray and intercede on his behalf.

We also lift up the physical toll this disease is taking on your father and your family. ### is a cruel affliction, but we serve a God who heals. We pray for supernatural strength for your father, for moments of clarity and peace, and for the Lord to either bring healing or give him grace to endure. We ask for wisdom for his doctors and caregivers, and for your family to have the endurance to walk this difficult path.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this precious family and their father. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch to rest upon him. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, confusion, and torment in the name of Jesus, and we command them to leave him now. Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, his body, and his spirit. Protect him from the schemes of the enemy, and fill his heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we pray for his salvation. If he does not know You, draw him to Yourself. Let him hear Your voice and respond. If he is already Your child, renew his spirit and fill him afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Give him moments of clarity to call upon Your name, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way.

For this family, Father, we ask for unity. Heal the divisions among them, and give them wisdom to care for their father with love and patience. Provide them with strength, both physically and emotionally, to endure this trial. Surround them with Your angels, and let them feel Your comfort and peace.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. We trust in Your power to overcome this darkness, and we declare that Your light will shine in this situation. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to hope, dear family. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is working even in the midst of this storm. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone, God is with you, and so are we in prayer.

We ache with you as you watch your dad suffer in ways that feel so overwhelming and so foreign to who he really is. The exhaustion, the fear, and the strain on your family are all completely understandable. When nighttime and morning bring frightening episodes, it can feel like you’re losing the person you love even while he’s still here.

Something that might help right now: the behavioral changes you’re describing can sometimes stem from the way Parkinson’s affects the brain, dementia, medication side effects, or intense confusion can produce paranoia and agitation that feel deeply disturbing to everyone. We’d gently encourage you to share exactly what you’ve told us with his neurologist or doctor. They may be able to adjust his care or offer something that eases these episodes, and even a little relief could make a huge difference for your dad and for you.

We also hear how drained and divided you all feel. When one person’s illness consumes everyone’s energy, it’s easy for siblings to clash and for each of you to feel utterly alone. Perhaps the most loving next step you can take together is to reach out for some practical support, maybe a caregiver support group, a respite worker, or even just a scheduled rotation so no one carries the full weight alone. You don’t have to figure this all out by yourselves.

As for your dad’s heart, please don’t lose hope. The God who hears every whispered prayer knows exactly what he understands, and your faithful presence beside him is a living picture of Jesus’ own nearness. We’ll stand with you in prayer now.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this precious father into Your gentle hands. Quiet his spirit in those hours of fear, and bring Your peace into that room where darkness seems to press in. Surround his mind with Your light, and if it be Your will, grant the doctors wisdom to bring him relief. We ask for his salvation, that in whatever way he can, he would know You are with him and trust You. Hold this family together, Lord. Replace friction with compassion, and give each member the strength to carry on. Renew them physically and emotionally, and let them sense Your presence carrying them through this valley. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

The heaviest trials often become the stage for the most glorious displays of divine grace, and your father’s affliction, though dark and terrible, is not beyond the reach of God’s salvation. The demonic assaults you describe, the evil accusations that torment him in the night and morning hours, these are the desperate writhings of a defeated foe. Satan reserves his fiercest rage for souls he fears are slipping from his grasp, and your father, even in his confusion, is being called by a Shepherd who will not let him perish. The way of salvation is simple and it is the same for the aged sufferer as for the infant in arms: look unto Jesus and be saved. “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” The mind may be clouded by disease, the understanding fractured by the ravages of the body, but a look does not require a philosopher’s intellect; it is the glance of a soul that knows its need. Christ is not a doctrine to be analyzed but a Person to be trusted. Cry this into the night when the darkness presses in: “He that believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.” Leave the whole matter of his salvation, and your own, with Him in unquestioning confidence. His honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep.

The evil that seems to take hold of him is not stronger than the God who planned salvation before the world began. This salvation is God’s own, and it is full of pardoning love for the blackest of sinners. When the accusations rise, whether from the enemy or from his own diseased mind, remember that there is forgiveness for all manner of sin, a fountain opened for uncleanness. No demonic accusation can stand against the blood of Christ. The jailer of Philippi, a man hardened by his trade, found salvation in an hour, and his whole household with him. Yours is a house under assault, but it is also a house being summoned to the mercy seat. The divisions among siblings, the exhaustion and despair, these are the enemy’s design to scatter you. Do not let them succeed. Gather together, not in dispute over what to do, but in a united cry to the God who saves households. He uses one convert as a spiritual decoy to draw in the rest; perhaps your father, even in his suffering, will be the means of bringing every family member to their knees in saving faith.

The ### is a cruel thief, but it cannot steal the soul that is hidden in Christ. Even when understanding falters, the Spirit can work when words fail. His own salvation, and that is the pearl of greatest price, is the main point. You ask for his healing, and it is right to do so, but press through to the greater gift: his eternal safety. Salvation from sin, leading upward to perfection and heaven, is the common salvation of all who believe. It is not a reward for the clear-headed or the strong; it is without money and without price. Let no one think they must bring good works or a composed mind as the price of entry. Salvation is present, perfect, and free. “He that asketh receiveth.” Lay hold of it for him in prayer as you would snatch a child from a burning house. Plead the promises. Command the enemy to flee in the name that is above every name. And for yourselves, do not neglect your own souls in the battle. Are you yourselves saved? Is this united family also a believing family? Seek the salvation of the whole house, for there is a heaven where families are reunited, and the morning comes when these night terrors are forgotten.

Christ is the salvation of God. Not an ordinance, not a priest, not a feeling, but a living, reigning Savior who is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. When the evil takes hold, speak His name. Sing a hymn. Read aloud the promises of the gospel into the dark. The enemy cannot bear the sound of sovereign grace. Your tears are seen by the Man of Sorrows who is acquainted with grief. He has love and amiableness towards the weak and the little ones; He will not quench the smoking flax of your father’s soul, nor break the bruised reed of your own spirit. I pray that in the quiet watches of the night, when all seems lost, the light of His countenance would break through, and a peace that passes understanding would garrison his heart and yours. The salvation you long to see him confess is nearer than you think, for it is not a far-off thing, it is nigh him, even in his bed of suffering, if the heart can but rest on Christ.

The sickness of the body is grievous, but far more bitter is the disease of the soul that speaks through your father in those dark hours. Do not wonder that such evil words pour from him, for those who are perishing often do not recognize the things that lead to salvation, and the word of the Cross seems foolishness to them. Yet weep for him, not with hopeless tears, but as one weeps for a beloved who is blind to his own destruction, even more than you would weep for a wife. For the true affliction is not palsy alone, but the sin that holds the soul captive, and this is the wellspring from which all the bodily and demonic torments flow.

This suffering, if you bear it with patient endurance, works for comfort and salvation, for him and for you. The sleepless nights, the drained strength, the cross you carry: these are not wasted. They are the very means by which God draws near to save. Do not let the enemy divide you through strife and envying among siblings; cast off that filthy garment. Let your love for one another become a fragrant ointment, like the harlot who filled the whole house with the odor of her repentance. So too, fill your home with the fragrance of united prayer, fasting, and tears cried out to God for his soul.

Even when he seems to understand nothing, do not cease calling him to call upon the Lord. The nature of his spiritual sickness is such that he cannot see his own ruin, and this is the most grievous part of the disease. But the time is short, and now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation. Do not wait for a quieter season; this very furnace is where the mercy of God works most deeply. Entreat the Physician of souls, and trust that the same power that delivered the paralytic can deliver your father from the sickbed of his soul.
