Your heart has been carrying a very heavy burden, and I have prayed for you as you asked for covering and intercession. Feeling surrounded at work and at home, singled out, and overwhelmed by confusion and uncleanness, can wear down your mind and body, and I hear how much you long for peace, clarity, and safety.
Scripture makes a distinction that is important for you right now. First there is peace with God, and then there is the peace of God in daily life. Peace with God comes only through Jesus Christ, through His blood shed for us. When we were at war with God because of sin, He made a way for us to be forgiven and reconciled. That is the foundation. Without that peace with God, we cannot know His peace within us.
Once we have peace with God, He invites us to experience the peace of God, the steady keeping of our hearts and minds. The prophet Isaiah says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. And the apostle Paul speaks of a peace that passes all human understanding, a peace that guards the heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
That peace does not come from trying harder to expose every person around you or from keeping your attention fixed on the chaos, the confusion, and the things that frighten you. It comes as your mind is turned toward the Lord and stays on Him. When your thoughts dwell on His character, His power, His care for you, and His promises, His peace begins to fill your heart. It is a quiet confidence that He will take care of what you cannot control.
Know this, God has not forgotten you. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope. He speaks peace to His people. He desires for you to live in peace and He has ordained peace for those who trust Him. That does not mean there will be no trouble in this world, but it means you can have a settled heart even in the midst of trouble because you belong to Him.
I am praying for you in this way. I am asking the Lord to cover you by the blood of Jesus, to be your strength, your protection, and your deliverance. I am asking Him to guard your mind and emotions and to restore your physical and mental health as you keep your trust in Him. I am asking Him to bring His peace into your workplace and to quiet the atmosphere of chaos and confusion, and to bring that same peace into your home. I am asking Him to give you wisdom and favor in the eyes of your manager and supervisor, that you would be seen fairly and clearly. I am asking Him to let truth come to light in His way and His time, and to deal with what is hidden according to His righteousness, while keeping you from fear and from a spirit of retaliation. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace, so I am praying that you will be able to sow peace where you are, trusting God to be your defender.
Grace comes before peace. As you rest more deeply in the grace of God, His undeserved favor toward you in Christ, and in His mercy that withholds what we do deserve, you will be better able to receive and walk in His peace. That peace will keep you steadfast when others are unsettled.
Continue to call upon Him and pray to Him. He has promised to listen. Keep bringing your cares to Him, keep your mind stayed on Him, and ask Him to fill you daily with His peace. He is able to keep you, to work on your behalf, and to give you rest in Him.
Father, I lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. Thank You for making peace through the blood of Your Son. I ask that You would let this person know both peace with You and the daily keeping power of Your peace that passes understanding. Keep their mind stayed on You as they trust in You. Speak peace over their heart, ordain peace in their work and home, guard their health in body, mind and spirit, and let Your presence be their protection and deliverance. Grant wisdom, clarity and favor where it is needed, and let Your will be done. In Jesus name, Amen.
