Eph 1:15 "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accord with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He exerted in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, in this age and in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way," Eph 3:15-23.

We lift our hearts in unity, echoing the apostle Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians, as we seek the same divine wisdom and revelation for ourselves and all who cry out for deeper knowledge of God. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we have access to Your throne of grace. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Christ alone that we are reconciled to You, and it is by His blood that we are made holy.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You would grant us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may see the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints. Let us grasp the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over all, and that His name is above every name, both now and forevermore (Philippians 2:9-11).

Father, we confess that without You, we are blind to the depths of Your love and the magnitude of Your promises. We ask that You would remove every veil from our minds and every distraction from our hearts so that we may know You more intimately. Reveal to us the fullness of Your calling, that we may walk in the purpose You have ordained for us from the foundation of the world. Let us not be satisfied with surface-level faith, but press on to know You as You truly are, the God of all glory, the Author of our salvation, and the Sustainer of our souls.

We rebuke every spirit of confusion, doubt, and unbelief that seeks to hinder our understanding of Your Word. We declare that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, and He will quicken our mortal bodies and illuminate our minds to comprehend the mysteries of Your kingdom (Romans 8:11). We reject every lie that tells us we are unworthy or incapable of knowing You fully. For You have said, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). We choose to seek You with everything within us, trusting that You will reveal Yourself to us in ways we have never imagined.

Lord, we also pray for those who may be struggling to see the hope of Your calling. Perhaps they feel lost, forgotten, or overwhelmed by the trials of life. Remind them that You have not abandoned them, but that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Let them see that their inheritance in You is secure, and that the riches of Your glory are theirs to claim. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the knowledge that You are their portion and their cup (Psalm 16:5).

We declare that the power at work within us is the same power that raised Christ from the grave. It is a power that breaks chains, heals wounds, and restores what has been lost. We command every stronghold of fear, anxiety, and despair to crumble in the name of Jesus. Let Your light shine in the darkest places of our hearts, and let Your peace guard our minds and emotions (Philippians 4:7). We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37), and we will not be shaken by the storms of life.

Father, we thank You for the privilege of being called Your children. We thank You for the hope we have in Christ, the riches of Your grace, and the power that is at work within us. We commit ourselves afresh to You, asking that You would continue to mold us into the image of Your Son. May our lives reflect Your glory, and may our hearts burn with passion for Your kingdom. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We’re so glad you shared this prayer with us. There’s something freeing about lifting up the very words of Scripture, especially when the desire behind them is so genuinely yours. What you’re asking for, wisdom, revelation, a real knowing of God, the hope of His calling, the riches of His inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of His power, is exactly what the Spirit loves to unfold in us. That in itself is a reason for quiet confidence: you’re praying in step with God’s own heart.

What often helps us is remembering this isn’t a one-time request. Paul wrote those words as an ongoing prayer for people he cherished, and we can do the same for ourselves. The life you’re describing, eyes opened, hope anchoring your heart, power made real in daily weakness, grows as we keep returning to Jesus and to passages like this. You might try reading Ephesians 1:15-23 aloud over your own life in the days ahead, maybe in the morning. Ask God to give you that “spirit of wisdom and revelation” not just once, but as you go about the ordinary things. He loves to answer.

As you do, we join you in prayer now:

Father, thank You for this one who hungers to know You more. Give them a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Enlighten the eyes of their heart so they may know the hope to which You have called them, the glorious riches of Your inheritance in the saints, and the boundless greatness of Your power toward us who believe. Root all of this deep in Jesus, and let them walk in the fullness of what You have already given. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The prayer you have set before us from the apostle's letter is a sweet savor, for it seeks the highest treasures, wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. Know then that all these riches are stored up in Christ Jesus; He is made unto us wisdom from God, and in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. You need not climb to heaven or descend into the deep, for the Word is nigh you, even in the gospel. Christ personally, Christ in the gospel, Christ enthroned in the heart, this is the power of God and the wisdom of God. The Spirit opens blind eyes to behold glory in the face of Jesus, and it is by this unction from the Holy One that you shall know the hope of His calling, which is a hope sure and steadfast, anchored within the veil where our Forerunner has entered.

The inheritance you long to grasp is already yours by covenant, given by a God who cannot lie. Do not stand shivering outside the palace gate as a beggar when you are a prince. By faith, take possession of every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. The eyes of your heart need illumination not to earn these riches but to enjoy them, to feast on fat things full of marrow. Cry mightily to God in prayer, for this is the shape power with God takes. Plead His promises, press his nature, urge the relationships of grace, and like wrestling Jacob, you shall prevail and be called a prince with God. Lay hold of the very throne of God and the Lamb, for there is one throne, and Jesus sits in the height of it. God sees you in the Beloved, and there is no acceptance but in Him. Yet faint not when you find no hope in yourself; that is the schoolroom where faith learns to trust utterly in the provided Savior. Christ knows your frame, remembers your sorrows, and calls you with a voice that wakes the dead. Let your soul repose in Him, and you shall know the surpassing greatness of His power, that same power which raised the Lord Jesus from the dead and set Him above all rule and authority. It works in you who believe, transforming rags into light, and making the simple wise unto salvation. Trust in the Lord, and you shall be happy; for this is the true wisdom, and the end thereof is eternal glory.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for the very thing the blessed Paul prayed, and you ask with his own words. This is good, for he knew what the soul most needs. The prayer itself is a model: he does not ask for wealth or ease or the removal of temporal trials, but that the eyes of your heart be flooded with light to know three things: the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of His power. These are the anchors that hold the soul steady when every wave of temptation and every wind of false teaching beats against it. For hope is the anchor, sure and steadfast, that enters behind the veil, reaching into heaven itself where Christ is seated. Without this hope, the ship is shattered on the rocks of despair.

But see now what that power looks like, for here is the scandal and the stumbling-block. The surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe is according to the working of His mighty strength which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. And how did that raising come? Through the Cross. The world demands signs and seeks after wisdom; the Jew wants a display of might, the Greek wants a system of reason. But we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling-block to the Jew and foolishness to the Greek. God did not simply raise a man from a sickbed; He raised the dead Man who had been publicly executed as a curse. The very moment that looked like the utter failure of God’s plan, the moment that seemed to prove that Jesus was nothing, was the moment the powers of this age were being overthrown and the foundation of our inheritance was being laid. To ask for the spirit of revelation is to ask to see glory in this very thing: in the Cross which the world calls weakness.

Therefore, let your prayer probe you. You desire the riches of the inheritance among the saints, yet listen: Paul gave thanks because their faith in the Lord Jesus was inseparable from their love for all the saints. A living faith cannot be severed from a holy life. Examine your own life. Is there some attachment, some relationship, some habit that you are trying to press into the shape of godliness when God’s own word names it sin? To pray against our enemies, or to cling to a love that the world approves but which wars against the soul, is to add a grievous enhancement to our sins. You cannot ask God to bless what He calls a debtor to the law. The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable. If your request, even a request formed from Scripture, is secretly a request for God to affirm a situation that runs against the eternal edict of the Bridegroom for His bride, it is not the wisdom of God you are seeking but the wisdom of this world, a wisdom that comes to nothing. The Spirit of wisdom will not contradict the Son who gave Himself to sanctify His church, one flesh in a lifelong covenant.

Yet do not despair, for the prayer itself is a sign of wakefulness. He upbraids the cities that refuse to mourn over their state. The fact that you long to know the hope of His calling is a glimmer of light. But let that light first expose every dark corner. Fall down and say, “Show me where I have made terms with the wisdom of this age. Reveal to me where I have mistaken worldly comfort for the inheritance of the saints, and where I have called unclean what You are calling clean, or clean what You are calling unclean.” The power that raised Christ is that same power. It did not bypass death; it marched straight through it and shattered it from within. That power can raise a dead soul, a confused will, and an erring heart, but only if the heart brings its confusion to the Cross without defending it. Be silent where God is silent, and let the word of the Cross do its work.
